hello all
i am trying to flash a RUU to my evo 3d cdma.
i have recently flashed a radio update and its causing chaos oh my phone. my phone will reboot constantly on any rom that i flash. i was recommended by some one on this forum to flash the latest RUU.
i have an Hboot 1.4 and i dont want to loose it. as per the recommendation i was told to flash a 1.5 RUU and then it will be back to normal.
my questions...................
-whats the difference between an Hboot 1.4 vs 1.5
-is there a latest RUU with hboot 1.4 (or whats the last update for hboot 1.4)
-i have read that the 1.5 is mush more step to flash a rom.
-if i flash a RUU that has 1.5 hboot will i keep my s-off and will i be able to flash a 1.5 hboot?
can some one please help me.
Just reflash your old radio to see if that will help.

Did you do a backup before you flashed? Can you restore from backup? I'd flash the old radio as laie1472 suggested, if nothing else. Messing with radios can mess a phone up.

I believe so. You may even be able to downgrade to hboot 1.4 I believe.

I always hit the damn thanks button instead of the quote! You got a free thanks
Anyways, go this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1192306 and download the SHIP 1.40 hboot (unless you want the ENG one, then download that). Follow the instructions in that post, and flash it. Just a simple PG86IMG.zip.
This guy did the same thing as you, and had success rolling back to 1.40. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=17993045&postcount=97
Good luck.
I have the evo 3d with 1.50 S-on but unlocked. Now how can I update the radio i'm on the WARM rom with software number 2.17.651.5, Kernel 2.6.35.14 and 0.97.10.0808. is this possible?
I think you have to relock your phone " after making a nandroid and backing up everything of course" then run an ruu to get back to stock, then take the ota update, then unlock your phone again via htc method, reflash your recovery, the restore your nand. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but from what I've read lately this is how a few h-boot 1.5 users are updating. Also you might want to make sure that the HTC -unlock website is up and.running again. I've read a few post stating that it was down and you definitely don't want to relock your device and not be able to unlock it again

Also its a ton of good info here because quite a few users were asking the same question with h-boot 1.5

hello all
my phone is bugging out and some one suggested to flash the latest RUU.
- quick question.
---if i flash the latest RUU will i loose root?
Yes you will lose root.
thank you.
Quick question ............
-how can i flash a RUU that has the Hboot of 1.4 instead of a 1.5.
(can some one please help me my phone randomly reboots on any rom, i was recommended to flash a RUU and then unlock again)
If your current HBoot is 1.50 with S-ON you can't downgrade the Hboot, at all. You won't be able to flash a lower Firmware/baseband than what's currently installed either, but you can reflash the RUU for what's installed or a newer one.
If you have HTC Unlocked HBoot 1.50 and S-ON, you can get more info that may help you in the Guide/Flashing notes in my signature.
Edit: Saw your question in the other section that you have Hboot 1.40. Disregard

I was coming from CM9 Devil's Toast and trying to update to 7.2. it was freezing at startup. eventually i was able to reload my older cm version. at this point in time i was on hboot 1.04 s-off eng and the older radio... .09 or something. I pulled he firmware zip from Android Revolution HD 2.00 and since i have gotten endless bootloops no matter what i've done. i've tried flashing stock kernal through 4ext using the stock_kernal.zip from the sticky. i've tried reloading 2 different back ups and 3 new roms... all i get is endless boot loop ... please someone, anyone have a suggestion?
Try mean ROM. It is built for the new hboot. Be sure to do a full wipe first. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1645211

Or, since you're s-off (you wrote "s-of", but I imagine you meant s-off), you can put an older bootloader like 1.40 or the eng 1.04 and just restore back to DevilToast. I installed the new firmware including the new hboot and all my restores would bootloop. But once I put the eng 1.04 bootloader back on and restored, all is well.
Here's a link with both of those hboots...

i am s-off. i put 1.04 back on it and i still cant flash a new rom or restore an old backup.
From what I've been reading we need hboot 1.58
To flash the sprint ics. And have to downgrade
To hboot 1.40 to flash back to all other roms.
I unlocked with htc dev unlock, rooted by flashing 4Ext and now i want to get back to 100% stock im on hboot 1.58 and 2.89 (pretty sure, whatever newest is)
You need to lock the bootloader and then run the 2.89 ruu. That will put you back to 100% locked stock.
I searched for 3hrs and couldn't find 2.89 ruu
