I've seen a couple post saying to change the shutdown animation of an android phone, you have to replace png files in the system/media/video/shutdown folder, however, I'm not seeing such a folder on the LG Thrive.
Could anyone help me in how to change this animation, if it is possible without having to install another ROM?

Hey all, wondering if anyone knows what files I have to swap to change the shutdown animation on this Optimus T. I have been able to change the boot animation but the shutdown images aren't located in any place I am familiar with and aren't in directories noted in threads for other devices. Any help is a plus!
Solved: Change files in PowerOff.apk
Thats it, no biggie, close this one!
Hey all,
I am having trouble making the custom boot animation for my tbolt.
I copied off the one from /system/media, which is from Das BAMF. When copied my own bootanimation.zip nothing happens. No boot animation, just wait 30 seconds or so and the phone comes up.
I have the 3 folders set up for android, progress, and VZW, and the desc.txt which i copied straight from the original bootanimation.zip
I have 120 JPG files in VZW which are all my animations. In my progress folder i have a .GIF instead of a JPG which i dont think is a problem. and in the android folder i have a modified HTC screen.
Can anyone who has successfully created on let me know what i may be doing wrong??

Hello all!
I was wondering if it is possible to change my phone Loading Animation (you know, when the phone is off and you turn it on). I use a ROM that has a custom one, but I'd rather have the Android original one.
Is this possible? If it is, can anyone explain to me how I can do that? Thank you!
To change the boot animation, just replace the ‘bootanimation.zip’ file in /system/media with whatever animation you want to use. (You can use a file explorer with root access to do this. I use Super Manager, which is free.)
Hey Guys,
Not sure if this is possible but I thought I would ask. A lot of attention has been paid to the lock icon on the bootscreen of the Galaxy S4 after rooting. However, it recently dawned on me that a method of getting around it showing up would be to get rid of that particular bootscreen from the device, or at the very least changing that bootscreen file with the official samsung bootscreen. With root access it should be possible to change the appropriate files with little trouble and nothing more than a file explorer program of some sort. The problem, however, is which file within the /system/media dir is the one that displays the custom samsung screen with the lock icon.
Has anyone tried this? Does anyone out there know which .qmg file is the one that displays that lock icon? Also are there any free programs that allow you to view or open .qmg? Thanks!
I made a simple boot animation for my LS991 and it previews flawlessly in Boot Animation Factory, but I can't seem to get it to work on my phone. I found the carrier/cust boot animation and tried to replace that, but my file explorer is failing to copy the zip over to it. So I tried in system/media and replaced both the default boot animation and the bootanimation_sprint files. Now the screen just starts up with the typical LG - Powered by Android, then goes black for a bit, and then the OS loads up.
I'm not sure if I'm putting my custom animation in the wrong spot or what. The permissions are set to rw-r-r as per this thread, but still nothing.
I'm attaching the boot animation to this post if anyone wants to take a look at it and make sure I've got everything done right. When I zipped it with 7zip, I made sure to set compression method to "store". Thanks for looking at this.
