Yup, same ones I use.

On my Tablet, the main volume buttons always control the master volume. It's not an all-mute solution, but simply holding that down shuts it up pretty quickly.
If you're willing to pay, SwipePad also has an add-on that lets you run shortcuts, so you could combine that with a small pad and one of the shortcuts/widgets mentioned above to get the closest thing to a mute button.
PS:: For those who haven't seen it, check out SwipePad, its pretty awesome.

HD2 Volume bottom broken.. Alternative ?

Hi everyone
I just changed the screen of my hd2 but when I put the cover the volume button doesn't work.. I can push it with a sharp object (screwdriver, toothpick) so in fact it's not broken but it's a bit boring tu up and down the volume..
I'm on android (ICS) and I want to know if there are any alternative "tweaks" to replace the "real" button ? Like on iPhone when your home button is broken you can download a tweak via cydia..
If someone can help me, it will be great
Thaaanks !
PS : Sorry for my english..
no one know ?
There are widgets and apps that you can use to change volume within Android, but if your device uses the volume buttons for CWM then you'll need the physical buttons working.
Well you should be able to go to your settings and volume options and adjust it that way, alternatively clicking on the clock on the bottom right corner should bring up a menu that volume is normally located.
@spunker88 Yes for cwm I use the physical buttons.. What's the names of the apps and widgets ?
@Bernie Nolan Thanks dude
But the main problem is when I'm doing a phone call I can't up/down the volume..
I use Volume widget, you can select which volume you want to adjust (music, ringer, etc) or have a widget with multiple volume toggles. Its pretty nice and free. During a call you would have to go back to the home screen to change volume.

Thank you I just downloaded an app on the market

How active Svoice from headset?

I'm using stock/ original in-ear headset with mic and volume control..
How can I start/active sVoice from it?
Thanks

I don't have a SGS3 yet, but I am wondering about these little details as well as they will determine the usefulness of SVoice...
If the phone is locked (in my pocket) and connected to a headset with a one button mic, can the button be used to activate SVoice? If so, is it a double tap of the button?
Obviously SVoice may choose to prevent you from doing certain things while locked (dialing numbers, etc), but it would be great to play a playlist or toggle shuffle for the music app using SVoice while the phone is in my pocket.
Likewise, if the phone is in a car dock, but the screen turns off/locks, can I still double tap the home button and voice a command for music control or reading my text messages?
Bump?
wondering about this too, i can't make it work......

it was annoying me having come from iPhone to note 2 so the way that I have made it work was to get the app headset button controller from the play store and set 4 clicks to launch so voice, make sure you select yes to waking the phone when asked. Now s voice works on the headset, just wish I could assign it to long press of the headset button but that's reserved for google voice search. I hope this can help some people or if anyone has a simpler workaround please share!

[Q] Volume buttons only control media volume?

I know there have been related topics of the volume rocker buttons only controlling media volume, but my question is spawned by something else that I was able to do a few days ago.
So I used to have a HTC amaze, the volume rockers controls the ringer/notifications. I liked that. I tend to change my notification/ringers often throughout the work day. But now I'm noticing on my SIII that the buttons only control media, which I understand is practical seeing as how ringers/notifications are thought of as a set it and forget it.
But the other day I was at the movies and was able to hit my volume rocker and it controlled my ringer volume and went all the way down to vibrate. And I did this from the home screen. I do it now, and it controls media. I know that you can hole the power button and you have quick access to vibrate, silence and sound and then when hitting the volume rockers you can adjust the sliders to control system, ringer and notification.
Any ideas on why I was able to control my ringer/notification volume via the rockers but now I cannot?
The volume settings are environment sensitive: if you're in a media app (includes all apps except dialler, ...) you get the media settings.
Homescreen should give you dialler. If not: are you using another launcher than stock?
You can set the other settings through the gear symbol in the on-screen volume display which pops up when pressing the volume rockers

Everything is stock on my phone. I've tried it within multiple different apps, and they all just allow for control of media volume, even the dialer.

[REQUEST] Headset button control

I wanna change my headset default button action from pause/play to next track.
I used the app JAYS headset control and it helped but it didnt work for me when i assigned play/pause to single long click.
Although i dont wanna use an app for this.
Is there any settings that can be modified for this?
PS: If there is no other option than to use an app, please tell me which app would be the best!!!

double click the pause/play button. it will play the next song

i didnt know that

but is there any way to reverse these options
i mean single click next track and double click play/pause?
because next track is used more than pause/play!

Use players other than stock, it doesnt support it!
I can advise you to install xposed and tweakbox. There you can list tracks by volume buttons (only work rooted phone and when screen is off).

I use player pro. It allows me to play/pause on one click, goto next song on double click & previous song on triple click. You can also use long press instead of double click.

I would love and prob pay for such a mod. Also a widget or shortcut for the damn Google home devices volume sliders. But that's wishful.

It is working. There is option "Default to ring volume" and it works. Probably it is available only in paid version.

On Pixel Experience at least, when streaming to a Google Home, when you press the volume buttons, two sliders pop on the right side of the screen (Yes on PE they are on the right, not the left). One for the media, and a second for the "Cast" volume.
But on Oxygen, never found how to do this.
