Probably the reason it did not work for you was the same as it did not work for me. I tried to install it, but it says "Application not installed". Copy it to /system/apps and it did the trick for me. Hope it does for you too.

im in the same situation. i cant choose a lockscreen wallpaper coz i changed the old gallery to quickpics. i tried installing gallery3d but it says it wont install. i tried the Gallery3dOriginal but i still get two empty fields when i choose a lockscreen wallpaper

i cant find where /system/apps is? i tried creating one on the phone memory and then copied the apk file there but it still wont install
after doing my research about adb push it solved 1 of the problems, i manage to install gallery3d but still when i try to choose a lockwallpaper it gives me the same two blank choices

Hi!
You have to install "Root Explorer (File Manager)" or similar root access program to get into "/system/apps".

Hi fellow Samsung Galaxy SII users.
I have a request. I accidentally removed the default Samsung-Keyboard/keypad v2.3.3 using Titanium Backup. So, now I'm missing both AxT9IME.apk and AxT9IME.odex. Both files are located in /system/app. I'm currently running a rooted (stock) KE7 rom.
Would someone be so kind to share both files? I'd really, really appreciate it.

If you look at the link to "apps safe to remove" in my sig there will be download for each of the apk's.
Or you can just grab the stock/custom rom you have and pull the files out of it.

I tried restoring the files by using Root Explorer, and I also adjusted the permissions, but for some reason I can't get either app to work. Not sure what to do. Anyone got an idea?

nevermind i was able to grab it from the stock img
i tried to put this in my s3 galaxy but nothing happens..it won't install..
I also can't make it working on CyanogenMod 9. Tried to deodex, but it failed.
i have this weather widget from LG, i have the apk but it wont install. The installation ended with 'application not install'. I have the file extracted but i cant figure out whats wrong..i have other weather widget be uninstall for it but its the same...

did you install the apk as a regular apk or did you move it to system/apps and rebooted.
In last case, did you set permissions right (rw-/r--/r--)?
If you post the apk i can give it a try (Arc Lt15i) if you want
I install using both method, regular and copy to system/app and set the permission to rw-r-r-...but fail also.

I tried to decomplie the widget seems like it need the framework-res.apk file. So I don't think it's easy to port because it's just like our Timescale widget won't work in other devices. U can download themes from thr servers or in themes and apps section we hav some of the themes.. Put them in sdcard and tick the theme in themes...
I'm sorry I didn't ask this in the earlier thread but, what's that host secure fix for? Is there any trouble with the hosts file that comes pre-installed with this ROM? Thanks

I'm change my rom to lewa yesterday and the UI is kinda different from me. Is it just because i've missed it or in this rom we can't tethering via usb?
and there is no option in "portrait" mode for wallpaper setting...

I saw on the portal a few days, and I just had to try it.
It installs libglcanvas.so and the launcher, both of which don't exist on the phone. I personally pushed the files via adb, but you can flash the zip if more comfortable.

Got it working on my defy+.
I extracted the zip file and copied the launcher to system/app directory using root explorer.
Also the lib file in system/lib directory.
Then I installed the apk from system/app and it worked...
Same here ....coming from Samsung I sooo needed this.....

I was wondering if it is possible to make the original s3 weather apk installable by changing its name and label. When I try installing it says another package with a conflicting signature is already installed. So if its name and label is changed and signed again, it may become installable as a normal apk. Can anyone help me in editing the name and label? I would do it myself but I cant figure out how to edit androidmanifest.xml and so I require help. Thanks

At first why do u want to have this apk twice?
Because I have GRAND 2 which has NOTE 3 weather widget. But I want the s3 weather too

So you need to decompile the apk and change the package name into AndroidManifest.xml then recompile and push your modified apk to your device. You won't be able to install updates for course.

The plan is to rename AccuWeather into AccuS3 and com.sec.????? Into com.sec.accus3.widget and resign the apk so I can install it as a normal apk. However, if it required the daemon and the main file. I'll have their name changed as well into AccuS3 daemon and AccuS3 main respectively. They, maybe, then work on all devices (maybe not on non-TW devices) but atleast galaxy users will get the s3 weather. But after many attempts, I failed to edit label, name and icon so I want someone to do this for me. Upload the apks and I'll see what I can do. With your Grand 2 you have TouchWiz but I'm not 100% sure it will work so you can already make a nandroid backup.

I dont have root otherwise, I would just flash the other provided apks. I cant flash, thats why I want an APK which is normally installable and normally deletable like any other application. Btw Thanks for the help

Grand 2's default weather is already almost s4 s3 weather is unique and comepletely different. Thats why I want s3. But thanks for the s4 link too

My apktool setup isn't set for Samsung apks so I'm not sure if it will work.

Ok. Thanks for your help but their is still a problem.. APK is now installable Widget appears in my app drawer. Thanks to you but it says problem loading widget what is that supposed to mean? Do I have to install weather main and daemon as well?
Ps: where can I find these framework files? And can I find them on a non-rooted device

I've contacted a friend who develops TouchWiz ROMs so his has a better knowledge of Samsung. Stay tuned
It seems that there's a apk dependency or another incompatibility (weather's or TW's base...).
Moreover does this apk provide from the same Android version as yours?

Uhh. I don't know. I had them on my computer. I dont really remember where did I get this Apk. So it means it requires weather main and daemon as well to work right? So if I upload the weather alongwith its daemon and main file??? Do you think it will work? Install as a normal APK after some name or icon modifications or dependencies modification? Because the flashable zip has all three files and says to push in system/app. So if we simply modify all 3 APKs so they become normally installable. It will work right? Should I upload weather apk alongwith its supported weather main apk and daemon apk or is there no hope in accomplishing this project?

Yes you could try. I doubt that installing these apks as system apps will change something.

Installing as system app will change the weather ofcourse because it has TW support. Weather will recognise the TW and start working as it will take place of the default weather widget. But here is the problem. I dont have root so I CAN NOT install them as system app and replace the default weather. And that is the ultimate reason I want them as normally installable and deletable APK so I could install them on a non-rooted device. Because if this project is done well and started working. Millions will get a clean copy of s3 default weather like ACE, Y, S2 and other GALAXY users without having root.

Hey btw how to edit androidmanifest.xml? I tried several times but I cant read it via notepad++. It shows some symbol rather than letters.
