Probably no answer because there's not much to either question.
Try posting all relevant information, i.e. make/model of the device, and firmware you're trying to extract.

some more info
Thanks for your answer...
I have to admit that no answer IS an answer
I was expecting a generic way of doing it. However here is my model. It is a Chinese device - K8GTA from 51cube.
It has SD, USB and i can connect to eat and flash firmware...
Hope that is good enought info! Thanks.

[Q] Rooting x10 Questions

Hi there,
I'm rather new (so sorry if these are dumb questions) to all this flashing / rooting / de branding and had a few questions about it..
Well i bought the x10 on mobile network 3 (three uk) and tbh they are ****. First phone i had i debranded using the SEUS copy file method over, but since then i have had them replace the phone. i tried the same method but as SE have updated SEUS i can't get it to work... :|
So looking around i started reading up on rooting.
Firstly if i follow this guide forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=711907 will that debrand the phone to the generic firmware?
If that is the case will i then be able to get future updates through SEUS or not?
If i rooted the phone, would there be anyway to go back to the so called unrooted version?
And lastly, what are the other pro's and con's of rooting?
Thanks, and sorry if these are silly questions!

Hi.
They aren't silly if you don't know the answer, but considering a search of the forum and browse of the guide (which you could have posted this question on) would have given you the answers it's an annoying post.
Read the rules and browse THIS section.
i had been researching the topic for 2 days before i posted here, i understand the majority of it just not the questions posted above.
i followed the link you posted but it did not answer my main question
will that debrand the phone to the generic firmware?
If that is the case will i then be able to get future updates through SEUS or not?

After searching google with can I run seus after rooting, I found this thread - [Q] Questions about rooting my X10i
Total time, 30 seconds.
thankyou
sorry, just seen so many posts about it didn't know what to properly search for
pardon my ignorance
No worries, but it is frustrating to see new threads asking questions that have been answered a million times already. In future just post on an existing thread instead of starting new ones.
To answer one of your other questions - What is rooting and why should I do it?
yes i can understand that entirely being a member of other forums myself.
In future Existing Posts it is!
Thanks for that link as well, definatly explains things in more detail!

Android mods/roms for Archos 7 HomeTablet V2

Hi all,
I have a Archos 7 Home Tablet V2 with Android 2.1 installed.
Are there custom roms that i can install on this tablet.
And how can i do that....... i think it is different then i do on my phone. ;-)
Can someone please help me with some information.
Is there already a 2.2 version?
Thanks all
Wrong forum buckshot, gen8 is the archos internet tablet- 32,43,70,101. I think yours is a gen7, totally different hardware.
I Know
But i think i can ask this question here because its an Archos.
If this is the only thing you can say and you cant give me some support please don't reply.
Yes i know the hardware is difference but maybe there is a person who can help me with finding the right place.
I think this forum is also for searching people!

[Q] Matrix tablet firmware

Hello everybody!
First of all I'd like to apologize if I missed the right forum but it's very confusing here. I recently bought tablet Matrix d7030. My question is does anyone know, where to download latest firmware for it or if I could use firmware of another device. And does anyone know how to root this specific tablet?
Thank you!

need original/custom ROM for MLS tablet (iq9806)

Hello!
I apologize for posting here, but as new member, the Admin will not let me post on the Developers section. Maybe some Moderator might move this thread to the right place.
I have this MLS tablet, from a Greek company.
It is stuck on Boot.
I tried hard reset with no luck.
I woul like to flash the ROM, but can't find the original or custom one.
Do you have any?
If not specific for MLS, maybe some other customized ROM for MT8735P Cortex-A53 processor.
I would appreciate if you provide me the hole package of files, because I'm going to use my PC for flashing and I do not have much experience (did this 2 or 3 times on other devices by following video tutorials).
Thank you in advance!
without hope

Rooting question please

Hello again guys right I have another question and I know its more than likely been answered a million times but I am truly a newbie my question: Rooting does it let you put the latest or recent android os on old android tablets? Like for example my archos 80 xs which in another thread which I need help on as Its going nuts atm! Which if you check my other thread you'll see what that's about. Anyway I look forward to your answers and thank you in advance .

Rooting it or not is not essential to that but you should need two main things in order to do this:
- Your device´s bootloader need to be unlockable or is unlocked by default or as in old times happened with some devices doesn´t matter if it is unlocked or not (prior to KitKat)
- And of course that it is a custom ROM available for your specific device.
