Hi
Just go into Settings -> Apps and find the app which is currently the default. Click on it, and in that screen you will see a button for "Clear Defaults". Nowm, the next time you use an app in that class, you will get the pop-up again asking you which you want to use.
Hope this helps.

Hello all,
First off, I would like to thank Albert Wertz on how to root the tablet. Followed the instructions and worked flawlessly. . I chose “Go Launcher ex” as my launcher which was also working great. Now, comes my noob screw up Every time I would hit the nook BN “Home” button, it would let me choose between the BN “Nook Home” and “Go Launcher ex”. Right below the BN (Nook Home) choice was a check box to make the decision permanent. With my fat finger I hit both the check box and BN “Home Button” and I no longer get to choose to go into “Go Launcher” I want my “Go Launcher” back!!! How can I do this?

NT Hidden Settings (in development) -> Application Settings -> Manage Applications -> Go Launcher -> Clear Defaults. You can swipe right to left on the notification bar to go backwards.
Alternatively, installing another launcher will clear the defaults.
Thank you so much for your reply!! I will try as soon as I get off of work. I would like to ask about the "NT Hidden Settings (in development)" Is that something I will have to turn on to see (hidden) or is it available by going to the development folder? Thank you again for your help!!

This is the main Android menu you would normally see on a stock device. You can get to it by either using the tgps launcher that you would use to first enable USB debugging, or you can use an app from the market called AnyCut, which will create a shortcut for you to the main settings menu for the device, or even the sub directories.

Click the "n"
touch "search"
type "tgps_launcher"
touch start
go to "manage apps" (or something like that, don't remember )
touch "all" at the top
scroll down to "home"
touch "home"
find the button that says "clear defaults" and touch it
Now click the "n" button. It will not let you choose which launcher to use again.
If this works for you, click my help button!

It is an app someone created here on XDA. You can find it in a thread in the development section of this forum.
Take a look at this link, working great for me to access hidden settings.

Does the nook need to be rooted in order to use Go launcher as the default launcher? I did not have the option to clear defaults for either home or go launcher when I tried this.
No it doesn't have to be rooted to use Go Launcher. I used it without a problem while i was unrooted and sideloading apps. I rooted in order to block OTAs and using Go Launcher is exactly the same in both cases.
How do I do this on an unrooted nook, clearing defaults is not working on mine.
This is what worked for me when I wasn't rooted:
If you can sideload apps, get Go Launcher EX from the Amazon Appstore. Once I installed Go Launcher I also installed Homecatcher (search for it here on these boards) to make my Go Launcher home screen my default home screen and bypass the stock nook home screen entirely (the program asks you during installation if you'd like to make Go launcher your default). Check the thread where you find the Homecatcher app for some tips from the guy who developed the app, but both apps are really easy to install and work really well rooted or unrooted. i don't know if any of this will help--good luck.
Thanks to ALL! I do appreciate all the replies! Everything worked great! Well, I guess I was only somewhat rooted..Nook just updated to 1.4.1.... :-( Now I cant get it to restore back to 1.4.0 via sd update. WOW I am the lucky one
It is extremely anoying!! atleast 3 or 4 times a day when i hit the phone icon, a window pops up asking me what phone app to set as a default??? is there a way to fix this? or is there an app that locks the defaults??
you should be able to check the default app tick box when the pop up appears, no?
I suggest you go to Menu -> Settings -> Apps. Then find the app you want to use for Default. Tap on it and then clear its cache. Do the same for the other app Androind suggests. Then tap on Phone icon and it should ask you again. Then be sure to mark the tick next to Use for default for this action. This should do it for you.

On ICS, the People app - I was looking at a contact and wanted to change the picture. By mistake I set the wrong app to open when i change the picture. How do I undo that?
I tried finding the people app int he apps list and clear settings, but it still uses the wrong app?
Go into Settings, then Applications, then Manage Applications, and find whatever app you set to use as default (the one you chose by accident). Tap it, and then on the screen that appears find the button "Clear defaults". Tap it. Then this app should no longer be the default for that task.

Wow that's insane. So instead of removing the setting for the app that USES it, you remove the assassination for ALL apps that use it? Good design there Google.
But thanks for your help!
I set a web site as an icon on the home screen but when I click it I get a tiny popup window instead of the web browser. HELP.
Sounds like you have the popup browser set as the default. Go to Settings>Application Manager>All>scroll down to popup browser, select it and then click the clear defaults option.

Thanks, that was my first attempt.
Guess I picked "always" the first time I did it so I had to go to
menu/settings/apps/all/menu/reset.
Thanks though.
Hello guys,
I recently got a note 4 from my brother. I switch from a apple 4s to note 4. I really like the different customization that android allows. I download the themer app. I really like how themer allow me to set different themes. One thing I don't understand is when I first set it to another theme, whenever I click on the message icon it gives me the option to choose between the different messaging apps. however, after I click on one of them it set as default messaging app. Now whenever I click on the messaging icon it just pop up that default messaing app, it no longer gav eme the option to choose between different messenger. I have to manually go look at the other messaging app.
The choice is disappearing because you're setting a default for it to choose every time you press the button.
Settings > Apps > Messaging app you chose as default > Clear Defaults
Then when choosing each app from the messaging button only press 'Just Once' this way it should ask you which app every time!
Hope it helps.

Hey Araytha, I didn't choose it as my default. It just pop up the different options the first time and I just click on one. From then on it just set that one as default. It doesn't give me the option for "Just once." Where do I go to do that.
