I connected via adb shell to get the unlock code and when I restarted the phone it was black screen flashing
I tried to connect with odin and it finds the port but when I tried to flash new firmware I get this message
<5> StartThread Detected : 0
<6> StartThread Detected : 0
<7> StartThread Detected : 0
<8> StartThread Detected : 0
<1> setup connection...
and nothing else
After 328 minutes in Odin I get fail
Can someone help?
Did I do soemthing wrong?

Are you sure you're in Download Mode ?
Herpderp Defy.
We could have had it allllllllllllllllllllll
Rolling in the deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep

Thanks for the answer
How do I go in Download Mode? On the Phone? it is not starting.
In the Computer?
I am new to this so please be explicit as possible.

To enter Download mode press & hold:
Volume Down Button + Home Button (Middle one) + Power. Hold them all until you see "Download"

I tried again and now I got the Downloading... yellow message but this morning there was a Dump ROM something message
What did I do wrong?

I realise I was pressing Volume up and not down
Odin says the downloading was successful but I still have a black blinking screen.

Why dont you put some photos of your phone or a short video so that we would know what you are doing is right or wrong?

Unchecked the Auto Reboot option in Odin and this is the log and it looks like it is stuck... 50 minutes and still running
Odin in SYSTEM

The phone is originally locked SFR from France and I got is as a present in Israel where I can use it only unlocked.
If I press [home + power button at startup] and while pressed press on volume Down I get the Samsung Logo
If I press [home + power button at startup] and while pressed press on volume Up I get RAMDUMP Mode (ARM9 Mode)
If I press only [home + power button at startup] and then release and then press the Volume button I get only the black blinking screen

I really agree with madman_amit try to get into recovery and have a factory reset. It will help.

Hey ma8, for recovery mode u have to press Vol up + home + pwrbutton.
Just press and hold the pwr button for a while to get out of Dwnl mode then use the above said key combo to go to recovery
there u perform a full wipe.
1) Wipe data/factory reset
2) Wipe Cache partition.
3) go to advance there select 'Wipe Dalvik cache'
after that install the CM rom once again and reboot and see

[Q] Phone turning on ,Not booting , download mode not appearing...

Hi , I just tried to increase my internal memoery in my rooted Galaxy Ace 5830i by following this tutorial.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2082465
When I did the "Placing the 2nd partition of SD Card to internal." step , my phone wont boot to its OS.
I am able to access "CWM" by pressing Vol Up + Menu + Power.
But cant go to Download mode by pressing Vol Up + Vol Down + Power .. Just a black screen appears and stays there ...
Odin is not detecting my phone , I tried "Samsung 300K Tool" and ODin detected my phone , but the Flasing stopped at a "Establishing Connection " (or something else) step and nothing happens after that .
What to do ?
How can I access normal "Download mode" .....

Hold power for 10sec or something and it will reboot.
You must have used vol-/power/home and entered download mode.
Try again with vol+

Galaxy Ace S5830B - Can't boot into Download Mode by any method

Hi everyone
I have here a Galaxy Ace S5830B that goes into infinite loop when I try to boot it. And I can't flash via Odin because it won't go into download mode.
Volume up + volume down + power button combination gives me a "LK (Little Kernel) ver 9 sep 2011" message. PC won't recognize.
Pressing home+ vol up + vol down + power shows "Emergency Dload Mode (ARM9 mode)". When I connect to the PC with USB, Odin recognizes it, but "<OSM> All threads completed. (succeed 0 / failed 1)" message is shown after flash procedure, probably because it should have been done in download mode.
Taking off the battery then pressing vol down + Home + power and putting the battery back on gives me a "Downloading..." message in yellow and nothing else, not the download mode. Odin can't recognize in this case.
So I tried a jig usb made with 300K resistor. It gave me a message "mdl factory download mode". Once again, Odin couldn't find it when connected via USB.
Samsung 300K tool via windows also couldn't be used because phone is not recognized in any of the modes I described above, but it guess it would also give me the mdl factory message.
Also tried suggestions in this thread: https://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1697692 and it didn't work out.
Some threads suggest trying to boot into download mode through adb. But I'm not able to enable USB debugging because of the boot loop.
Can anyone give me an idea to save this phone, please? Thank you so much.

Problem : Sahara error (content details enclosed) in QFIL + black screen :-/

Hello all,
I would request your help - once again -
I have made some changes, some of them successful (thanks to the community!) but the last one was a disaster, my fault!
Indeed, the last statement: I actually have nothing, only black screen.
I tried to unbrick it, with Qfil, the CN room and the Qualcomm driver. But I have the error in the log following:
20:21:04: ERROR: function: sahara_rx_data:196 Unable to read packet header. Only read 0 bytes.
20:21:04: ERROR: function: sahara_main:860 Sahara protocol error
20:21:04: ERROR: function: main:277 Uploading Image using Sahara protocol failed
Do you have any idea how can I solve it?
You have to click on "download content" in qfil as fast as possible after connect the cable on PC, if it doesn't work yet, try different versions of the USB drivers
Hello
I did, really fast (0.5sec), no way
Are you sure it is really the reason?

Hold both volume buttons while plugging in the phone, and click download. After clicking download, keep holding vol down, but you can release vol up. Keep holding vol down until flashing is done. I had this issue where the port would disappear (disconnect) a few seconds after I released the buttons. If you have that problem, just hold the button all the way through.
