We are pleased to announce the first release of Virtuous Flyer. This is our first rom for the HTC Flyer and is based on the stock HC 3.55.405.1 rom from HTC. The rom is still in the early stages of development but should be considered stable. This initial release focuses on cleaning up the base rom and adding tweaks to optimise speed and performance.

It would be greater if the team could overcome the homescreen grid space wastage introduced by HTC.
Maybe by moving the clock up a bit, and allow for more icons or reclaim the space on both sides of the clock?

Probably not, not too much work has been done to this yet (hence version 0.1) and this is in the wifi section.

Virtuous team does have a bug tracker, but I don't know if there is one for this rom. For now I would just follow the above advice by mcord11758 so other people can see including Chrisch1974.

Bet you that is caused by the boot down animation. If you switch it back to stock htc it will resolve issue

As usual with Virtuous branded roms it's a good stock experience with under the hood enhancements. I find it to be a nice rom to be on, but it does need some work which Chrisch1974 will eventually get to. =]

I had a go to nexify and slim down Modaco's Desiree ROM
So i removed:
All HTC widgets
Rosie
HTC dialer
HTC calendar
HtC stockr
HTC weather
And loads other stuff,
added
modded launchers
Wysie's Contacts
Modded some icons and statusbar drawer
CorpCal
and some more bits and pieces
Modaco et al shall have all cred for the desire ROM.
Have a go and report your findings.
And remember: it's alfa based on a alfa...

I try to nexify the the desire rom. All htc apps is heavily integrated to the desire frame so i guess its difficult to get them running in stock nexus roms
does Flash Work? also, does "more soon" mean the ROM isn't ready for us to flash yet? I don't see a download link.
i also noticed that desire has better exchange integration. if anyone figures out a way to get the exchange apk or mail apk or whatever controls that onto a cyan rom that would be great.

Why not just use a homescreen replacement...like Home++ so you don't have most of SenseUI? The apps aren't drastically different, the biggest difference is the homescreen imo.

Few reasons: Speed, Home++ and other home replacement have issues and features i dont like. And its fun to mod android
Update: still working to solve some graphic glitches in my morph.
I will post a step by step guide (still noob) to nexify a deisre rom.
Maybe i will post a barebone stipped ROM if anyone wants it.
Hey guys ive been using VillainRom since i rooted my phone and current running the latest 6.2.1 However i thought yesterday it would be worth trying out some different roms.
I tried Cronos Droid, but didnt see any difference at all.
Any1 actually recommend any roms and can give reasons why? At the moment VR is very quick, OCable, and has all the features i can want. (I know it seems stupid as to why i may want to move if i have everything, but feel like i may be missing something)
That new SenseHero could be good as his last one got alot of praise,...
I'm also happily using Villain6,....
Might give the other one a bash later.

Just flashed SenseHero,... Seems very good on 1st impressions, actually seems a little smoother than Villain,... But its got something called "Autokiller" installed which might be a factor.
The ONLY downside so far (be it a teeny weeny issue) is that there isn't something to show which homescreen I'm currently viewing. But I'l probably forget I even had that after a while.
Looks quite good to be honest.

What I need:
- speed
- stability
- OC enabled
- good battery life
- vanilla Android 2.1 (eg: white notification bar)
- gallery 3D w/o bugs
- HTC keyboard
- HTC Dialer (if not, i can use DialerOne)
- HTC browser 2.1
- working GPS
- flash (lite) support
- snooze/dismiss alarm via lockscreen. snooze alarm via volume buttons
What I don't need:
- Apps2SD
- JIT cos it's buggy ATM
What do you recommend me?

Well if it is, he's done a better job than it's own dev's.
I found villainROM to have quite a few bugs.
Although senseHERO still has a few bugs they're minor compared to the ones i had running on villain, and Sense has a smoother,friendlier UI hence the change over.
Both good, solid ROM's in they're own right but for me it's sticky's work that wins it.
Sorry villain team.

Letting 2nd post for MODs is brilliant! As there are a lot of MODs from HTC devices (mainly Sensation) which work with your ROM but are hard to find. Is it possible to add previously made MODs to the 2nd post or will there be some sort of rules infringement? I know a lot of useful MODs but they are not mine .

That's a feature showing your battery life. Go to battery bar options or something in your app drawer and disable it.

ohh well stuck in bootloader even though i flashed the boot.img !!! anyone facing same issue !!
Titanium backup (and other apps requiring root) doesn't seem to work. It would open, load the apps, but when I try scrolling through the list it force closes. The battery calibration app force closes when trying to perform an action requiring root. Note that root has been granted by superuser correctly.

I love this rom. The little small tweaks available on it are great. I love being able to change clock colour and things like that.
Had to go back to 104 build!
In the hour I had this rom installed I had 6 reboots, numerous FCs, for some reason poorer radio signal and inter wifi drop out!
Keep up the great work mate, def the best series of roms out there for the Evo 3D..

Very stable, there's a few fixes you need to apply but I haven't had it crash on me yet
For the most part everything that you need works, what most devs are workin on are either get a good senless/vanila ICS port, with out the ui issues, and tweaks to make the rom faster and battery life longer.

I use the rom as a daily driver and personally, the bugs are something I could live with for awhile. Some of the bugs you can fix yourself. The main bugs that I've found are:
1. acore fc's constantly (flash this in bootloader)
2. MMS doesn't work (install go sms)
3. Gmail fc's when composing (install one of the many apk's on the main thread)
4. Settings fc's when clicking "about phone" (no fix atm)
5. FaceUnlock doesn't work (no fix atm)
For now, I can live with them. If I were you I'd flash the rom. It's amazing and buttery smooth!

I would wait just a bit until they fix more stuff. I love Vanilla ICS, had it on my Dinc, and it really made that phone a new beast and fly! The issues/bugs however kept me from going Vanilla so I stick'd to JoelZ and his Rom (GREAT ROM!!!). Phone is EXTREMELY smooth and silk. Made a couple of changes to make it look/feel like Vanilla but without the issues. I would stick to what you have or modify it to make it close to Vanilla ICS. Only real big thing im missing is the ICS Dialer (best dialer IMO for Android).

Have any of you guys tried it with A2DP Bluetooth streaming?
From what I have read none of the leaks have proper Bluetooth working..some work arounds but no true fix.

I still say use the Sense'd version and De-Sense using the De-Sense script in the dev section. It worked very well for me on Scott's ROM and even gives you the stock ICS MMS app.
I downloaded the newest version and now when I go to the market it says my apps are not comparable with this version? Any ideas?

I really spent painful hours to get this baby here working.
As you noticed theres no APM yet on HC, the reason is, that the code changed on HC and I had to rewrite the APM completly by myself.

We got our own tweaks app, just have a look at the Evo 3D GSM Leedroid tweaks.
..and well, dont mess up porter with dev =P - its a huge difference. I'm calling myself as dev =P.
Didn't mean to offend, just thought a dev could port, too!
I'm interested in those tweaks to activate CRT screen off animation (as there's no settings in actual LeeDroid Tweaks) and 360° screen rotation, I know there are no pen softbuttons for 2 orientations but using one of the other 2 would do the job easily. Just my thoughts, I know it may be as hard as cracking the last BT issue in Lee's HC ROM.
I've asked in the quick settings too, does this work on Virtous?
Think you should nandroid backup and try yourself, these are made for LeeDroid.

First I was disappointed to see it didn't work when I long pressed Power button, it looked same as before so I decided to restart the device and THEN the new menu appeared! So everything works well
I just was under the impression this new Apm would replace the Power menu and not be a Restart Menu Options, maybe it would be worth mentioning in the beginning...

The power menu was simply buggy and missing the required smalis for the reboot menu as they had to be made from scratch, this is what Jan and Daniel have achieved
