I have a Galaxy Player 4.0(us) and am curious if it is possible to run a ROM for the 5.0 if I used a kennel for the 4.

No. Do not try this as it will give you a decent brick.

Actually you could try it as WT Ho has tried one of my klassic ROMs with his 5.0 and the right kernel and he said it booted, but the orientation of the screen was misaligned.

Yeah, would that be awesome or what, THE UNIVERSAL ROM!! (Probably not practically realistic).
Anyway, be seeing you guys at around. I might get a hotel with wifi every once in a while, but I'll be pretty lonely without my xda buddies!

I have Nook Tablet CM9 and I have GTA installed but the controls to move the character aren't showing up so I am basically stuck in one spot. It has not worked before so I am just wondering if something's wrong or I need to change the settings.
I've noticed too, it's a bug. I think it has to do with graphical issues
Any Work Around
Do you think there is any work around for this bug because it works on other devices (even some lower end devices) but not the nook. Why?
Just download cm7 or a stock 1.4.0 rooted rom.. should do the trick. Basically any cm9 or 4.0 rom on the nook tablet cant handle it..

It is not a rom, it is a kernel for cm9. Try to google or read threads to learn more.

So there's a Cm7 for the Galaxy player 5.0 and it has ICS animations. Would there be a way to get the animations on any ROM?

Hey everyone, lately I have been watching a lot of videos on YouTube from the channel 'PocketNow' and I really enjoy all the tips and tricks they provide for Android user such as ROMS, Mods, and Rooting advise. I myself want to get into the world of rooting my Android devices, but im a little skittish about bricking my device or doing something wrong. Is it really worth rooting my Samsung Galaxy Player ? And if so what is the easiest and safest way to do it?

You can use a program called Super one click or this program here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=20950511
Super one click works on most Windows computers so you probably won't have to use the second one.
If you want the features of rooting then it is definitely worth it. You can unroot using super one click as well.

Thanks! and ya ive heard of that. I plan on rooting my device on a computer with no internet connection. Do you think that'll work?
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
It did for me. You may also have to use odin to flash a new kernel if you want to.

Odin is a program made by Samsung that was leaked. It let's you basically "install" roms and kernels.
You would be able to root without Internet if you managed to download the rooting program.

Is there a way to root my player from the player itself?
Sent from my YP-G70 using xda app-developers app
As joemhewitt noted, use SuperOneClick, it literally is just one click and you're rooted. I'm not doing anything too crazy with my SGP so I'm running everything stock excepted rooted. For me, the most valuable aspect of being rooted is to be able to backup my stuff with Titanium Backup. I followed this video and rooting worked perfectly http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aA4bw8bU4T4
I also watched this video, thanks man

Would the mobile Odin pro app work for this device? I purchased it when I had my epic 4g touch and have been itching to use it again...

As the title indicates, I was wondering on the possibility on porting the full camera software for the s4 to s2?
I heard that theres a possibility of the s2 and other devices receiving 4.2 as a final update before 4.3 comes out, so maybe that will include the camera/gallery I'm looking for.
Peace
