At last, I 777 feels like the Captivate - AT&T Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-I777

I always felt Captivate was in the forefront of development (when I had it, back in the days). Even now, it already have ICS (I need to dig out the old captivate, glad I didn't sell it). But in last months, so many I9100 ROMs are porting, it feels like the old days with the Captivate.

Porting i9100 roms was possible since last year.

Everyone was just lazy to do it.
Though I see a lot of new original roms popping up (even before Entropy's guide) not sure why though.

I agree we have been getting alot of good new Roms lately

And this is the reason why I dont mind the hellraised roms getting their own threads (or at least their own section). This thread is case and point. (this is in reference to the other thread where it was in discussion about what to do with those roms, since they technically aren't new development). Hellraising i9100 rom's is nothing new but many people either (1) didnt know about it because they dont read or (2) they didnt want to try it because they were too nervous to attempt it.

There's also possilbe bugs that come about after hellraising them. It's good to see others port them and work out the bugs since many of us don't have the time or know how to do so.

Haha. That's right. But now I am flashing a rom a day.right now, I am using lidroid. But I am already thinking about the next one.

We gaining new devs and porters. It's good only took a few months. I took the past week reading up on a ton of things. Figured out how to edit stuff for multi-dpi and how to build a rom. It's been interesting. I'm happy I finally took the time to learn some more about it.

Fully is not the right word. How about mostly. Audiohacked kernel will allow for in call audio but it can be unreliable(See Entropy's op, do not expect call audio to be without issue). From most accounts its a nice Rom to "toy"(from OP, too) with but revert back to whatever stable GB rom you're used to after done playing
Maybe try Reading through his thread to see if it's "fully working"?(Thread is not that old so its pretty easy to read through the entire thing) Here:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1512900

Anyone else feel the same?

If you don't like my thread you are welcome to not post. douchebag.

Agreed. Threads like "2% less battery on KG6", "Is everyones internet faster on KG6", "Like the different volume notification on KG6" and such aren't really worth a whole new thread.
Xda isn't Facebook.. It's a forum. Your opinion does not deserve a new thread.

Some serious power trip issues on this site!
My experience on KG6 through litening ROM 5.0 is very good. I think it's the best so far. Yet, I have no comment yet on battery life as I keep using the phone yesterday. I will try to use my phone like a normal day and see whether the battery life is comparable to the KG3.
For me the phone does indeed get hotter alot faster, a few lag and the battery life seems to have gone worse over KG3.

REALLY?!? Nobody wants to do any groundbreaking changes when ICS is literately right around the corner. A few little updates probably wont quinch your bored thirst either. You do realize though for the Devs to come in here and read this, they can take this as a slam, right? Not a nice way to get more roms/updates.

Since you're bored, Id suggest to read up and learn how to hellraise and then try a few i9100 romes. That will both take up that bored time and also give you some new roms to play with.
I dont approve of this thread at all and I feel that this could get really hostile due to the blunt disrespect for the Devs in this forum.

[Q] Which ROM Should I Use?

I recently rooted for the first time and I'm looking to find a ROM that isn't too much of an off-chute from the stock ROM but is also decent at conversing my battery life. I was thinking GB since ICS has that severe bug on the galaxy s2 1777

Once you start reading and ask relevant questions, people will answer you better. Even if you haven't tried it yet, and you ask questions that occur only after having read about it, people will start pointing you in the right direction.

KH7 and KK6 are basically the same and run fine everywhere except the Loop and O'Hare, where the data doesn't work at all.
I recently tried out LC5 by accident and it turns out that works great in O'Hare and the Loop, but is very spotty everywhere else. I should probably go through the others but that would require a free weekday in the Loop.

OP, these threads are highly discouraged in this forum. I encourage those who think the OP does not deserve such flaming, please read more, you'll see that if you did, vs. threads or "which is best" threads are not allowed.
Btw, the person who posted the kernel tests thread, #1, that thread is I9100 and our I777s are different, #2, each person's I777 is different and reacts to different kernels differently, so that thread is practically useless to us.

As previously stated,
We have been asked not to post builds yet.
Any CM10 build you see on another website has a 99% chance of being built from Chad's repo, and therefore should not be allowed.

I had the opportunity to try a barely functioning Sense 5 build. It was very fluid, but because hardly anything worked, I obviously didn't use it long. I have SVN set up already, and will be trying this ROM once it's "publicly" available. I'm a very patient person. I suppose that's a good thing right now. Lol

Well if you have the svn set up you should check out latest. It is very very fluid, and the only things not working so far are
Gallery
3g
4g
ZOE (acts like its working, but will never complete the zoe)
Gallery <- again.
but everything else is working quite well at the moment wifi has solved most of my connection issues and i dont really need 3g while im on the go as its wayyyyy too slow in my area anyways, sure it will be nice to have, but its not a necessity, and everything else but those things are working.
ive made a number of calls, sent a few texts and am using email to send sms out to people at the moment.
what did you find wrong with the rom so i can check it out?

Hey inman, when you get a good solid kernel going let me know how you set it up and everything, i would love to swap kernels but the last one i used seemd to slow it down (older version of ARC reactor)

The ROM I tried was a private build provided to me, just for fun. Other than the UI, nothing worked. No camera, Wi-Fi, data, talk. In no way was it meant for any kind of public release. I also promised the person whom allowed me to use it, that I wouldn't share with anyone. I stand by my word. Sorry.

That would work. By all means, go ahead. I roam when I'm at home anyway. Data means next to nothing to me.

Also! thank you kerkedagain thats awesome and i will be trying it soon.
These devs have done some amazing work and need applauded for there effort on this! Within a few days they have a complete build with the only real issues are data, gallery fc, and Bluetooth, that's nothing short of amazing! I personally tried a port when the system dump became available and the things I was beating my head against the wall trying to figure out they fix in minutes! Needless to say once I saw this line up of devs working on a port I quit all attempts and am glad they can make it happen! Since I am new here (as a member) and can't try to help in the development thread yet, I at least want to say you guys are truely appreciated! Thanks

+1 to this.
Also for anyone trying this rom out in the future, it comes with blinkfeed as page one, and homescreen as page 2. Add a third page to boost smoothness of the entire rom. just noticed that.
