CcLauncher (Very similar as real ics launcher) - Samsung Galaxy Player 4.0, 5.0

Did anyone tried cclauncher?
i found it on market, it is very similar as real ics launcher.
except the 3D button.
and it is free on market.
You can download from this URL below
https://market.android.com/details?id=cn.yunmai.cclauncher
If you cannot download from market you can download the apk file form this thread
You can watch the video about cclauncher works in this url
http://youtu.be/prYXRjPRlzg

looks pretty nice.
unfortunately says "incompatible with your device".
damn.
Good thing i loove go launcher. lol

Not compatible, but It's kind of like SPB shell. I'm afraid of that launcher since it drains my battery so much! Go launcher uses ~20 MB RAM, while SPB shell uses ~80 MB RAM. It also causes lagg.

I am using this app. Been using it since the 21st. It's very fast and responsive. And since no ones succeeded in porting ICS it's the closest thing to it so far It should be compatible because I don't experience ANY lag or such things. It looks and works very well. I suggest downloading this

gReader -- slow on vibrant. Any Solutions?

I have used gReader pro and the free version on my vibrant. Both are really slow especially while updating. My phone usually hangs in the middle of updating this app for feeds. The developer says that vibrant users need to use lag fix to correct the problem. How do I go about solving this problem.
gReader

Any inputs? Thanks
I am not sure how to fix your issue, but google has their own reader app in the market now. You could try that. Sorry I cant be more of a help.
Sent from my Samsung Vibrant running 2.2 with a gingerbread theme.
I have used the official google app for google reader as well. As a matter of fact I still have it installed...but like the gReader app better due to its interactive interface and small size font which enables me to see more feeds on the screen. Also the official app uses external browser to fully read a feed which I dislike.
if the official one is performing better, the app must be bogged down. complain in the market, or email the developer of the app. they do listen most of the time. you might get results in an update.
edit: and by complain, I mean report your problem in a respectful manner.
I went from gReader to the official Google Reader app and I love the official much more. NewsRob isn't my favorite either. I'd suggest trying the official one for a bit and seeing how you like it. I'm a huge RSS fan so this was my own personal solution.
for all of the lag fixes and oc and all that i've tried, the number one solution for speeding up performance of apps like this (that use a lot of memory operations to /data) is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=727279
i use method 1 listed there and it works perfectly, i do it every time. do have to watch space, but it works well.
Since my phone is unrooted and my ignorance to these technicalities, I starts using the official Google reader app and im loving it in just a day.
Thanks.

I liked neither apps so I've been using FeedR from the market. It's fast and allows offline reading to a degree. Even though it's not free, it's inexpensive and totally worth it IMO. It reads straight from the Google Reader website. If you've already got your RSS feeds setup there, it can just import them after you login. I'd say try it for 24 hours and refund it if you don't like it. Before anyone asks, no I'm not the developer or of any affiliation.
Lag fix should fix that problem, try it.

Can't Download Zeam ...

I've tried numerous times to download Zeam from Market. Even though six or seven items show up with that name, I tried choosing each one of those items, but Zeam does not come up on Market. for download.
I tried AppBrain, and a page with Zeam does show up, but there is NO Download button. There is a link to Market on the Zeam page, but when I click on Market, an error message displays:
"Not found"
"The requested item could not be found."
Is anyone else having the same issue with trying to find Zeam ... ???
You have to sideload Zeam, but I can tell you that it sure doesn't work well on the Archos 101. Can't speak about other models.
It has sizing problems and other weird issues. For example, PocketCloud won't work while Zeam is the launcher, but if you switch back PocketCloud works fine.
I sent the developer a note, but then had to uninstall after that with the bugs I found within a few minutes of using it...but it was too buggy to continue using it. :-(
Love it on my phone though!

Thanks for your response. I think I'll pass with Zeam ...
If it's buggy on the Archos 101, probably buggy on the Archos 70 as well.
Besides, I like the stock launcher. There are so many really cool features.
If somebody comes out with another launcher that does everything the stock launcher does and a few extras, I might be interested ....
I have found Zeam to be very stable, fast and app friendly on my 101.
I was using Zeam and thought it was great. I don't know about PocketCloud but except for the screen shifting a little because of the on-screen buttons but a quick little slide with your finger fixes it.

Well, if you like, you can replicate the PocketCloud issue yourself. I was just posting my experience with Zeam on the 101. Perhaps I get a little too nuts with my expectations, but when the issues hit the 2, 3, or 4 problems mark I move on to something else.

I just loaded Zeam yesterday and like it so far. I turned off the elastic scrolling and the little issue above was gone. I like it better that way anyway. I got it from the market. It wasn't there at first, but I cleared the market cache and stopped it. Then cleared data from Google Services Framework and stopped it. After restart it was there. I had done this fix before, but apparently it doesn't stick.

Please help! My Atrix is a slow piece of crap.

Ok I hope I've finally found the right forum. I was posting in modmymobile and not getting the help I needed. Finally a friend of mine told me about this forum and told me anyone who knew anything about Android posted here. As you can imagine I was on modmymobile because I was a frequent user of modmyi. I am an iPhone guy. An iPhone guy that is DESPERATELY trying to make the jump to Android.
I have my gripes with this phone versus my iPhone 4; for example the iPhone screen makes the Atrix look like a gameboy in my opinion (most notably at off angle viewing) and the build quality is no where near the same. BUT I can already see after 1 day of use why Android is superior. The thing is endless in customization, and for the most part the OS is more functional on every level.
With that said, PLEASE HELP. This fricken phone is supposed to be the fastest thing on the planet and it chugs a long like a snail. For example: If I were to load up a webpage with many pictures, such as phonescoop, and touch the middle of the screen and gently move it in circles, it stutters the entire time. Anytime I am zooming and or scrolling around a page I am constantly seeing stutter. Safari does not do this. I figured it was a browser problem so I tried Opera and Dolphin HD as well. While Dolphin was a bit better, it still does not compare to Safari. Not only that, when I'm scrolling through pictures I've taken its the same thing. Even the settings menu seems to chug!
My only hope is that the bloatware and Moto Blur is what is causing this stutter, so I desperately need help on how to remove any and everything from the phone that is not necessary. Not to mention Moto Blur looks disgusting. Please point me to a tutorial where I can learn how to root (make sure it will allow unroot please) and then please guide me on how to get all this crap off the phone. I think moto Blur is called a "Launcher"? Can you also reccomend the speediest and nicest looking launcher to go with as well.
I really really really want to replace my iPhone with this phone, but if it doesn't make sense I can not make the switch. I am already going to have to deal with the sub-par (in my opinion) screen, but I just can not deal with a laggy phone. What scares me the most is that I had my buddy come over last night that has an Inspire rooted and running at 1300mhz and his browser stutterd just the same. Please don't tell me this is an Android thing, I don't want something so trivial to ruin this for me. I really want to convert. For the record I chose the Atrix not only because of the speed, but because of the webtop and HD dock as well.
Thank you in advance and I hope I can get educated here.
Dolphin browser runs that site very well for me, no stutter as you say.
For a launcher, I'm using Go launcher, and also like ADW, and launcher pro.

Did you remove blur and replace it with that launcher? In doing that does it remove the bloatware and free up system resources? Id like to make the phone as fast as possible
Err...use the built-in task manager to kill apps that are either taking up CPU (though you're not using them) or a lot of RAM or both. Uninstall stuff you don't need.
Also note that this is not an iPhone, so quitting an app in a normal way (using back button / quit icon if available) is a lot better performance-wise than pressing the home button.
In your browser, close windows you do not need. Really. And switch on "on-demand" flash (it's in the browser options somewhere) so that it only loads flash elements when you click on them.
You could also try Firefox as a browser, it comes with its own engine. All other browsers in Android (afaik) use the built-in webkit engine, so are basically the same thing "under the hood".
Hope that helps. The phone is a beast, but that does not mean that you cannot slow it down
I think its moto's ui that is causing all the problem. Motoblur indeed is disgusting. My android is a mere 1 ghz phone but it does not stutter at all. Atrix is indeed a slow phone not utilizing its dual cores. Ive used my brother's optimus 2x which has the same processor as the atrix and it blew me away with its speed.
when I removed Motoblur and added Miren it got fast
I use Go Ex as a launcher although Gingerbread or Launcher Pro is equally fast. Motoblur is the biggest culprit when it comes to slowing the Atrix down. Miren loads quickly as a browser. I also got rid of apps I do not use and installed Swype beta as well as the Gingerbread keyboard form the market. Additionally I am using three screens and a simple, static wallpaper. I have 15 apps on the dock and use gestures for the dialer and to check the battery. I'm rooted and use setCPU. Functionality is great now. I hope they release the Galaxy S II soon. I can't find much else to do with the Atrix.

Does using a launcher like LauncherPro replace MotoBlur or does it just cover it up and I have to use TitaniumBackup to freeze MotoBlur behind LauncherPro?
DON'T download a launcher, it takes up ram and in overall will suck up ur memory.
What you want to do is just install Adeo and get ur phone deoxed, also remove bloatware, and you're phone will be FAST.
I haven't installed any launchers because they slow, i've tested it with LP and ADW and they don't co-operate too well with Atrix....i'm not sure but it might have something to do with the dual core not running right on the launchers.
I've had my phone constantly on for about 2 weeks now and it's still as fast as when i first booted it up. Also, knowing what ur running will help you understand what is sucking up performance if maybe you're running widgets that refresh every 15 min, it will hog ram.
Motoblur is a pretty good launcher...it just needs to be set up properly.
launcher pro scrolls much smoother than motoblur, and has that little spring effect the iphone does when you scroll between pages, it's excellent. Also, browsing as I've seen has been pretty hit, or miss, but on the xoom, which has the same guts as the atrix, website scrolling is much better. The only difference between the xoom and the atrix is froyo vs honeycomb, so that leads me to think this is a software bound problem.

well froyo is not designed for dual core...honeycomb is designed for multiple core usage...if you didn't know the motorola xoom was Google's developer tab for designing honeycomb.
This has to do with the way the android browser renders pages. The Safari browser is GPU accelerated thus, is smooth as silk. The android browser is not (unless you have a Galaxy S I9000 international version). So no matter what you do, the android browser will NEVER be as smooth as Safari until they give it GPU acceleration like the Galaxy. There's only one way to currently have a smooth browsing experience, and that is Opera Mobile 11 beta. However, I tried it on an Atrix and it doesn't seem to work, so I guess you're out of luck there. Again, this doesn't particularly have to do with the Atrix as ALL android phones using the android browser aren't GPU accelerated except for the I9000.
It's something a lot of android users even on this forum will not admit: the android browser is laggy. Sure, it may be quick to them, but if you always have an iPhone next to it to compare to Safari, it'll always lose. Except for playing flash, where it always wins. =)

I told you the guys here will take care of you Sean.
Ok heres an update.
So I found out that the firefox browser is by far the fastest browser with almost no lag whatsoever. I found this out before I modded the phone at all. I then rooted the phone and did the adeo modified rom on the phone and installed launcher pro. I also took off my live wallpaper. The only thing I haven't does is freeze all the bloatware. I'm kind of concerned that even though I'm using launcher pro, moto blur is still there and making the phone run slow.
Either way, the phone still chugs like a razr. For example, I took a random picture of my room. I then went into the "Gallery" app and looked at the picture. I zoomed in on it a bit and then dragged the picture around to scroll around and look at it; it chugged along like an NES game!!! It does the same thing while zooming in and out. What is going on!?
If I freeze the bloatware including moto blur, WILL my problem be fixed? I'm desperate.
I've found a thread that shows how to freeze the bloatware. I'll freeze everything including blur while I wait for you guys to respond. If I can't get this thing running up to par by the end of the week I'll need to return it. Which SUCKS because the benchmarks show that this is the fastest phone ever made (in stock form).
And really guys, what are the chances that the phone is only using 1 core because of 2.2? What are the chances that 2.3 will make this thing fly and eliminate the lag I am seeing?
You have to remember I am coming from an iPhone 4, which while not faster at all, SEEMS much faster because everything is so smooth. It seems stupid but I need the UI to be fluid, I won't be able to look past it. Thanks again.
**Are you guys with the super modded, OC phones on the newest versions of Android experiencing UI lag like I've mentioned above?**
More updates haha. Went to the market and downloaded "bloat freezer" and found that i cant use it because my device is not rooted. Looks like i rooted it and then when i installed the modded rom it erased my root or something. And since i dont have my usb cable here at work ill have to wait until i get home and re-root and then use bloat freezer.
Which rom did u install.....gingerblur? If so, it should have rooted it for u. Otherwise do the aroot process again. Then download titanium backup and freeze your bloateare through there.

sbp mobile shell 3d On the streak

Installed fresh after going back to 305 and then to Sd 1.9.0 Im using 1.0.3 version legally purshased from market.
Yes 15.00 usd seems to much but i believe that this laucher has a lot of potential.
There are lots of modifications available for the winmo(6.5) version so im hoping this version will be even better.
I have it installed and didn't have any issues whatsoever. What is happening with your install?
SPB Shell 3D didn't seem to work on my Streak aswell but SPB Mobile Shell 5.0 (build 4365) does but had some FC's. Does anyone know a better build for the Streak?
Are you guys talking cracked/hacked versions? I'd be willing to buy it if I could try it first.

Install will be unsuccessful. So decided to buy the app, you know, the legal way but again, the install was unsuccessful with a "Package file is invalid" error. So decided to refund it.
Hope I get the refund. On DJ 1.9.0.
Worked with my version 2.2.1 well till reboot, does anyone know the problem?
very nice but it has lot of probs
slow, it hangs now and then (and it takes minutes to come back alive)
no resizable widgets no scrolling widgets
i think it need a dual core processor to run decently

I am on stock 2.2.2. Installed SPB 2 days back. It's neat and fast. Tad expensive though. Haven't faced any problems so far. The only drawback seems to be limitations on use of widgets.
Where Stage was using around 50 MB of memory, this one uses 5-6 MB only. Battery is also doing better.

Short term fix to experiment
Hi Everyone,
It does "work" but you will lose the use of the Android Market. Below are the steps I took to keep the launcher working through reboots:
1.Update all your apps and back-up.
2. Download and install DroidWall.
3. White list everything manually (Not "all applications") EXCEPT for the Android Market, then activate DroidWall.
4. Turn on airplane mode and reboot your device.
5. After your streak reboots, install the apk.
6. After shell loads up, open DroidWall and white list sbp shell.
7. Turn off airplane mode and reboot your phone.
8. After the reboot, sbp shell will load and there will be a short freeze while Driod wall does its thing. Enjoy.
Remember, your using Droidwall to block market access in order to keep sbp from performing its license check. You will not be able to update your apps until you white list market. Unfortunately doing so may once again disable the launcher. It's an unfortunate compromise you will have to make.
Lastly, it's always best to support the developer by paying or donating for an app.
none of this would be necessary if:
the market refund policy was something more reasonable, like 1-4 hours instead of 15 minutes (although I did like the original 24 hours...)
SPB and others had a trial version that would disable itself after X days
But really... $15.00 is on the high end for a non-corporate app, but it is still just 15.00 (cheaper than a movie and popcorn)
no it doesn't support rotation. its very nice though. also, if you are running hacked version, do not power off your phone. you wont be able to turn it back on and it will get stuck on dell logo. I bought it from android market and i think its totally worth it. it looks awesome on 5 inch screen.
Its work really well on mine Streak with Steve's 1.90 rom. I think it has a lot of potential, just need to add more widget and more customization it would be my main launcher.

Official Honeycomb - Apps do not work

If you are on the official honeycomb update, could you please confirm which apps do not work properly. What about gameloft ones, they are notorious for the compatibility.
Asphalt 6 works great on rooted WiFi flyer with the latest honeycomb release
Only one I have a problem with out of my usual ones (list too big) is BBC iPlayer, and that just seems to be down to BBC themselves not adding the HC Flyer on the compatibility list yet.
I have noticed the lack of the old Google News and Weather app but found that in the forum after a quick search http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695349. It also works fine.
Edit: I have noticed that Google Earth has problems. The lower buttons for Look around and Zoom controls are missing, presumably under the new bottom bar! This is probably due to the same problem as in the PocketCloud thread, however they are fixing PocketCloud in next update.
ive found all my "borrowed" gameloft games have been removed by hc drm ,all worked flawlessly on gb.
bit o a bummer, dunno anyway to get round it just yet.
dont seem to be able to buy anything on market, just keeps saying update my cc details and voids the sale.
nothing wrong with my payment details tho.maybe they dont like uk anymore.
the builtin market with the official hc update doesnt seem to find much for the flyer and yet when using ffox, opera etc to go direct to market all the top stuff is there to see.
bit confuddled by it at the moment, wait for a way to root it n go from there i guess.
Couple of app incompatabilities
So far ive found a couple of issues with apps on my honeycomb flyer compared to my honeycomb galaxy tab 8.9.
ADW Launcher EX (see attached image)
1. The app drawer button that should be in the upper left is missing
2. the buttons on the top right for search, add widgets, wallpaper, etc are missing
3. The main app dock does not rotate to bottom of the screen in landscape mode
Astro File Manager
1. App menu bar at the top of the screen is missing, looks almost like its been pushed off the top because of resolution rather than scaling
Im sure there are more, but those are the apps i tend to use the most that are not stock htc apps.
Anyone have any ideas on the ADW launcher issues? i would really like to use that one because of the dock (really miss the persistent shortcuts on every screen like the flyer GB sense had)
Oops, this didn't come up in my search. I started one too, sorry

You have not done much research before throwing these out there. You can't just install the old app from a GB backup...,
just off the top of my head:
dolphin, weatherbug and swiftkey have tablet version , work on the HC flyer
dropbox, pulse, read it later, ebay and twitter works on the HC flyer
I run these on my HC flyer so your report that they don't work is incorrect
Perhaps you have not done a proper install of HC or the apps.
thanks for the update. When I first saw that there was a update available, I wondered if it was real... I got one that was fake a few weeks ago and nearly bricked my flyer.
Then...in the.notes for the updates I didnt see anything to tell me that I needed to uninstall anything. Perhaps it is a well known thing that you have to do that.

If you are going from GB to HC all of your apps should have been wiped. Don't try to reinstall from a Titanium backup of GB , that will cause all sorts of havoc on your HC , just install apps from the market fresh.

The Gameloft stuff is kind of cheeky. I got Backstab from that awesome Ten Pence Google Sale and it only works on my Samsung Galaxy SII.
Plus the stuff I bought in the past via their wap site doesn't even show up in the Android Market.
AVG antivirus pro doesn't work. Very frustrated because they haven't updated the tablet version in months, that's why I used the normal version. Now I feel vulnerable only using the free version...
Wave launcher as well...

AVG? really? The reason they don't update it is that there are virtually no viruses out there and it really useless unless you are downloaded black market garbage.
Yep. But it's not just an antivirus app. It has app backup functionality. Also scans for spam texts, safe search on web, & a phone locator. I used AVG because I use it on my laptop. I prefer pro versions of any app, even if its just to remove ads.
