I am using perfectpeso and use ungaze data2sd to move apps to ext partition but my dalvik cache is allmost full and i can't install new apps.so i want to know is there any way to move dalvik cache to ext partition?thanks
Do you use data2sd v4b5? If yes, then it moves the /data to ext, so the dalvik cache by default rests in the ext partition. If now you are having less space in a 512 MB ext partition (I'm assuming) then either delete some apps or make a bigger ext partition.

Hey guys! Currently I'm using megatron. And I have apps2sd and dalvik2sd.But I'm still running out of space! Have about 25mb in internal memory and the dalvik cache seems to be taking up a lot of space on my sd card too! Is there anyway I can clear the dalvik cache and also I heard there's a way to move it to the cache partition.Am I right about this?

Just buy 8gb or 16gb
You should create a 1024 mb partition on a class 4, 8gb sd card.
How to I create it?
using a2sd module ,partitioned my sd card i don,t know what is using my phone storage?

Same prob like me. But i use megatron rom. Its your dalvik cache is eating your phone memory. You must hurry install terminal emulator then move your dalvik cache to your sd card.
You must hurry before you end up like me

and how to do that
Note: If you apply Darktremor Apps2SD and still notice internal storage is decreasing, this is due to the dalvik-cache not being moved. By default, Darktremor Apps2SD will not move the dalvik-cache on boot.
If you want to move the dalvik-cache to the sd card, type:
a2sd cachesd (move dalvik to sd card)
a2sd cachesdreset (move dalvik to sd card and clears contents of dalvik-cache)
a2sd cachepart (move dalvik to cache partition)
a2sd cachepartreset (move dalvik to cache partition and clears contents of dalvik-cache)
Make sure your SD card is at least a class 4 before doing this, otherwise you may run into performance issues, unless you move the dalvik to the cache partition.
You still have other caches (i.e. Browser caches) and other data being stored and updated in internal storage, so the number of free space will continue to drop, but at a slower rate (unless you are engage in heavy web surfing, tweeting or facebook socializing.)

We all know there's about what 200mb of internal memory while some higher end models have up to 10gb internal space....i want to move all of my apps to exclude widgets/launchers...unless there is a way to move everything on my phone to sd card...i currently have a scandisk 8gb memory card, what partitions would ya'll recommend for a 8gb memory card, what script could I use and how could I tell that my phone was being ran from the sd card

If you want to install a lot of apps, then I think you will want a 1GB or even a 2GB partition. And I suggest that you move apps and Dalvik cache to your SD card, basically leaving only application data on the internal memory. I'm using S2E for this; I don't have experience with anything else. You won't be able to choose which apps to move with this method; you will have to move them all. But they will work fine.
Did you partition ext3 or ext4 or just stay with ext2...im guessing my first move would be to backup my data from sdcard than partition a size, what about your swap ? Did you set it to 0...i just downloaded s2e, the only option I see is download cache, but I know this because I have no ext partition on the sdcard

I used ClockworkMod to create my ext partition. It creates an ext3, so I just used that. I did set swap to 0. I think these were the steps involved:
- Backup SD card
- Enter ClockworkMod Recovery and choose to partition the SD card
- Select a size for the ext partition and choose 0MB for swap
- Reboot phone and copy data back to the SD card
- Use S2E app to choose what gets moved to the SD card (applications and Dalvik cache)
I appreciate it mech, I figured those were right around the right steps

Hello!
As I can partition the microsd with CWM Recovery, if I get in paragraph advance, to partition the sd.
I want to increase the memory for the app using the microsd.
I have the V6 version of CWM Recovery v1.25 with KernelPanic
Thank you!
For Swap Use 0mb nd For SD-EXT Use 512mb (I Guess This Is More Than Enough For A Normal User)
After That Install S2E or Link2SD App From Play Store!
Move Ur Apps To SD-EXT Using One Of This App!
COPY ALL OF UR SD CARD DATA BEFORE MAKING A PARTITION! OR YUH WILL LOSE ALL YOUR DATA ON UR SD CARD!

Thanks, but do not let me partition the CWM Recovery V6. There goes that option and earlier, if there was in the ADVANCE menu -> Partition SD.
Now those options do not work out. Since then I can make the partitions?
Install Link2sd and check already u have sd-ext partition

Hello
I have no sd-ext partition because I could not make it from the CWM Recovery version 6. Since I do not get the option to partition the sd.
What I know is because at the CWM Recovery, it leaves the option to partition your sd and other Recovery as version 5, if it comes.
Download a software named "MiniTool Partition & do it via computer. You can add ext2/3/4 partiton with it.

I downloaded the program and I partitioned the sd with ext4 and fat32
But I think the program did not recognize me Link2sd While ext4 partition because I see that now in the applications menu, the phone recognizes the ext4 as internal memory.
Since in the applications menu, I keep saying that the phone only has 350MB capacity.
What did u want then?u said u want to increase the partition for using apps.there should b 2 partition now.one is ptimary fat/fat32( below 4gb fat, over 4gb fat32) for external memory & other is primary ext partition for internal storage

Are you sure that in you SD card, the 1st partition is FAT32 and is set to primary & 2nd partition is EXT4 and also set to primary?
In applications menu, if the internal memory is recognized as EXT4, you may have formatted the 1st partition of your SD card as EXT4.
Try this tutorial : http://forum.xda-developers.com/wiki/index.php?title=SD_card_partitioning
In the tutorial, the 2nd partition is formatted as EXT2, try EXT4.
I've been using link2sd for quite a while now. I have 2 GB partition in my extsd for it. I unlinked all of my linked apps so that I can make a backup using cwm but when I checked the storage info, my 2nd partition says that 1.7GB is still used. Well that's crazy because I already unlinked everything. I cleaned the partition using link2sd but it was only able to free around 20 MB. Right now I only have 300 MB free for my second partition.
So how can I free/format/clean the partition without having to format the whole memory card?
try to clear cache from CWM rec..
