[Q] Xperia Mini Pro - locked SIM after trying testpoint method - Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini, Mini Pro, Xperia Pro, A

Hi!
I tried to unlock the bootloader on my Mini Pro but I couldn't, I tried everything I found on the web, but to no avail.
After the testpoint method my phone says "SIM card is locked".
I took the phone back to the T-Mobile store and the guy said that the software(?) isn't the Hungarian one and he can't do anything about it, I lost DRM.
I think I didn't upgrade the software, hence I don't know what caused this and how to solve it.
Could anyone please suggest me what to do or point me into the right direction?
Thanks in advance.

[Q] Orange branding problems with rooting Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro (Sk17i)

Hi xda members,
first of all i've read through tons of post, searched google for an hour. Now I hope for your help. I own a "Sony Ericcson Xperia Mini Pro" (model number SK17i) running Android 2.3.3 (Kernel 2.6.32.8-perf, build number 4.0.A.2.335). It's branded by Orange Austria. I'm looking for a way to root it, but all I could find doesn't help.So far i've read the thread on rooting my phone and followed the guide mentioned there. That doesn't work as planned.
The problem seems to be the branding. Fastboot won't recognize my device since I'm not able to unlock the boot loader. The phone just goes to normal charging mode, when I press [volume up] while connecting the usb cable.
Hence my question: Is there a workaround to unlock the bootloader or an alternative way of rooting? I looked and found solutions for older Xperia phones with brandings and tried what I could. No success.
I would appreciate any help. Just point me into the right direction. Thanks!
Edit: So I found a post on unlocking the bootloader using the device's testpoint. According to one post he succeded in unlocking his orange branded phone. Unforunately some of the information there 404 so I can't reproduce that. Plz help!
Edit2: Now I'm a step futher. Problem now is that s1tool dies after the disconnect testpoint step. Any suggestions?
So this is where I'm stuck:
imageshack . us/photo/my-images/829/freezeu.png/
Weird URL due to new users not allowed to post outside links. I removed the testpoint and waited. Am I supposed to do something else? At one go I tried the [volume down] stuff with and without connected battery. That didn't help.
So for branded phones with *#*#7378423#*#* (service) -> "Service Info"-> "Configuration" -> "Bootloader unlock allowed: No" there is now way to unlock the bootloader?

Use the S1Tool to restore your bootloader then re-unlock it, I don't think you should have any issues since you're unlocked by code, which should leave you with SEMC CERTIFICATE in your bootloader, which is cleared for unlocking via the semc_qsd8520.bat file.
tried your way but with trips rom still didn't work... no sim card
u need to re-unlock network via setool2 to get network and this is the only way!
How dows it work then? do I need to buy the box? how can I do that...
thanks guys for your help
You can either buy the box which isn't cheap or find a shop to unlock it but make sure they use setool2 to do the unlock.
Sent from my Nocturnal X10i using XDA Premium App.
Hi guys,
thanks for your help... I guess it doesn't worth to buy the box and the software and here in Portugal I have no idea where I can find such a shop that can fix that
No matter which SIM I insert, always says no SIM Card... damn!
thank you guys. I still have a hope. tried with Omnius, but didn't work... it unlocked with success but it practice, got me nowhere other than spending 7€ !!
It really requires a box isn't it?
With the price of the box it seems I could always buy a new one...

X10 mini pro useless.help!!!

Hi,
hope someone can help me.
I unlocked my phone using a program from a web. I guess it used omnius to do it. After that, I unlock the bootloader to install a new kernel using the msm7227_setool2.cmd option of SE Tweaker Tool. When I did it, I realized that the phone had lost signal so I couldn't use it. I read afterward something about losing sim unlock if doing this but it was to late.
I tried to restore it using seus but now I can only use not working sim cards. If I use a functional one, from my previous company or from the new one, it is showed on the top bar a symbol I guess means "impossible to read sim card" and the screen only shows the background image (I cannot use the phone even to listen to music).
I relock bootloader using RESTORE function on s1tool but it's still no use. If I try to install another rom like MiniCM7Pro V21, it gets stuck on the starting animation.
I thought of buying an IMEI unlock code so I looked for information and found that, under the service info menu, there is an option called "SIM lock" that shows the number of attemps you have to unlock your phone. I haven't tried any unlock code and the phone shows that I still have 5 chances to enter it but there is no [X] next to any of the lines shown and, for what I read, it is supposed to show it if you can unlock the phone.
I've been searching for information but all I can find about restoring lost signal is what I've already done.
Anyone knows what else I can do?
Thank you!

My guess is that the simlock-certificate on your phone was incompatible with your try to unlock the bootloader, which results in loss of radio-capability (and that means gsm/3g) There are about three different methods of unlocking your bootloader in the link you posted, if none of them work you're out of luck i would think.
great thanks smg; this means that if I'm not able to find a way to unlock my bootloader, I'll loos my radio-capability for ever!!! ???

Relock it first, usually your radio-capability comes back. (Provided you didn't flash a custom kernel yet, that should work fine, otherwise go back to stock firmware first)
If it comes back and you can't successfully unlock your bootloader, you're just limited to roms that don't require a custom kernel.
By the way: usually you can get a code from your provider in order to sim-unlock your phone, mine charges for it during the initial contractperiod, but after that they provide it for free. If you sim-unlock your phone using that code you're safe to unlock your bootloader too.
If you use third-party software to sim-unlock your phone, your mileage may vary (third-party apps use dirty hacks to do it, some hacks are supported by the bootloader unlocker some are not)
I had the same. My SIM-Card doesn't work and so I test my dad's SIM-Card and my brother's SIM-Card. But no one work. So i send my X10mini pro to Sony Ericsson and they repair it. I tryed to unluck the Bootloader twice and now it work I hadn.t problems! Now I'm happy with MINICM9
(Sorry vor bad English)

What tutorial/choice did you made for your phone to work successefully with MiniCM9?

Hard Locked Sim Question

Hi everyone
I have had a look around the forum and been googling but i am unable to find a solution to my problem.
I have an x10 Mini Pro which a "professional" tried to unlock a year or so ago but was unable to, and gave the phone back.
Checking the attempts left i found it to be at 0, so the phone is now "Hard Locked". Is there any way to reset or sim unlock the phone anymore.
I did find someone that said the Paid SETools might do it?
Thanks for your help!
Same problem over here ... I still have two attempts ... but i am not finding a free solution to unlock network
