Originally posted this in general. then realized it belongs here. if any admins want to delete my first one in att note general, i understand. anyway...
So if you want to have an ICS theme for your note, or pretty much any android phone, follow these directions. And if you like it, hit the thanks button
What you will need:
Go launcher
GO Locker
GO Locker ICS Theme
GO Search Widget
Ice Cream Sandwich (Theme)
Ice Cream Sandwich Clock
ICS Search Bar 2 for GO Widget
Okay once you have all those you want to go to go launcher. when on your home screen press the menu button (Far left) click themes. then select your ice cream sandwich theme. Now press the home button. then the menu button. now preferences. then screen settings, then grid size. Select "Tight 5x4" then click the home button. now hold your finger on the home screen. click widgets, and android 4.0 clock. Then position it where you want it. Now go back to the home screen, hold your finger on the screen again, and select GOwidget. Now click search and select your ICS one. now we are almost done. go back home, click the menu button, then plugins, then go locker, and select IceCream.
That's all. If you need help just ask.
I use Go sms for my texting, and downloaded an ICS theme for that. Shown in the image below.
Here are some pictures of my Note home screen:

just thought i'd add that when you are trying to change the lock screen wallpaper from menus it doesnt show the ics ones.
to change the go locker wallpaper to one that doesnt show up:
tap menu
tap plugins
tap go locker
tap settings
you can change it to the wallpapers included with the go launcher ics theme that way, change it to others that don't show up when you try to change from display settings menu, or even set it to just be the same background you use for go launcher.

What texting app is that? I hate the stoke white

Go SMS. Its in the market. They have tons of themes for it

ICS theme
The only problem is that's not how ICS looks. (I already have this installed.) I had it on my old phone, and the widgets are a white translucent background, and a dark bar at the top similar to how Honeycomb looks, but not identical. I don't know where these themes come up with the completely wrong look.
I just switched over from an HD2 running AOSP ICS. I have yet to see a widget for email for example, that looks anything like the real ICS one.
I admit that it mostly looks like it if you leave the widgets out.
An example of what they should look like would be the modern ICS theme for Android Pro Widgets, but the bar at the top looks darker on actual ICS ones.

[Q] Replacing stock icons

Hi there. using Nova launcher, very happy with it. Just one question. Is it possible to change the default icons in the scrollable area just above the home button. That orange "Contacts" icon is horrific and spoils my otherwise neat home screen. Thanks, Chris
Try This
Thanks Neville, Ill check it out.
Look for icecream in playstore I'm using nova as you and installed those icons
Agree..that orange icon is so old...

Nova Launcher Icon Problem

When I restored my nova settings all was good except for the app drawer icon. The acon is a green android with a white box. How do i change it to default?
weird it happened but just found a stock app drawer icon and edited it myself.
Perhaps Respected Mam/Sir,
This is to inform you that I will surely help you with this!
Now every Launcher has an Launcher Settings so you have to get into it (Mostly you are supposed to press and hold anywhere on the screen)
So assuming you got into the settings now you have to find an option about Get Icons From another launcher(or something else similar to this). So now select your default Launcher which was there when you bought your mobile.
Note- This will change your icons as it were during the Stock Launcher rest all Launcher Looks will remain the same.

[Q] Can you add/remove desktop screens in ICS?

In Gingerbread, I could click menu button at my home screen and choose "Edit" and all my desktop screen will minimize and I can add screen or remove screen (including all widgets and shortcuts) just by dragging the screen to the bottom where it says Remove.
I could not find any way to do this in ICS?

You had probably a custom gingerbread launcher and not the default aosp launcher. The aosp launcher doesn't support additional screens, 5 is the maximum.
If you like the aosp look and feel, try a custom launcher like apex or nova, both come with the multiple home screens 5<.
A third party launcher would allow you to do this. The default launcher provided with your phone may not allow you to add more screens
Examples of launchers include ADW launcher, Go launcher, Nova launcher, Apex etc

You misunderstood my question, it was the stock (Gingerbread) Samsung launcher and the max screens is 7.
But that's not my question.
I want to know how to remove desktop screens in Ice Cream Sandwich, I can't see any way to edit them.
Please let me re-phrase my question! sorry if I wasn't clear....
I don't need more desktop screens, I just want to know how to edit the screens in Ice Cream Sandwich, so I can remove blank screens which I don't use.

have you try to pinch on the blank screens?

[Q] home screen black bar

Whenever I go to the home screen, that black bar is at the bottom of the screen and I'm pretty sure its not supposed to be there. I tried to wipe the cache and that didn't do anything. Any help is appreciated thanks.
Isn't that a feature of the Sense launcher? If you don't want it I would recommend using another launcher like Apex or Nova. If you're really attached to the Sense launcher but not the black bar, there might be a tweak to remove it in the one custom ROMs in the Android Development subforum.
