rezound on italian network - HTC Rezound

Hi guys.. I'm Italian and I'm currently working at epcot in Orlando.. Since I'm struggling not to smash my Acer liquid mini every 5 minutes i really wanted to change it with a SERIOUS device.. So I've been looking for few specs i wanted to have on my Phone and the rezound meets them..
but at this point i've a question.. Can I use this Verizon phone with my Italian card? or other card like at&t and so...

Please check this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1421341
I don't recall any Italy carrier specific questions, but you should get a good idea of whether the Rezound will work there.

that's a really bad news.. damn..

so i've another little question since i'm kinda new of all this..
When this device we'll be available in italy.. can i flash the italian rom right?! they should have same hardware..

ok.. i just check the network.. this is the only damn smartphone DUALBAND!!! noway... so there's no way i can use it in italy

really for people that travel or are overseas a lot, going with at&t (even with their evil ways) is probably the way to go so you can just swap sims when needed...

Carrier unlock WITHOUT rooting

I would like to carrier unlock my SGS3 without rooting it. Is there a way to do so? I am willing to pay for such a service.
I will buy the phone from Comviq (Tele2) in Sweden.
Anyone who have tried one of those online services where you buy an unlock code?
Code will work but Rooting is easy

I know rooting is easy but I don't want you do it. I have to unlock it "legaly"
Is there a tested website that we know work?
Thanks.

They won't. You need to have the phone at least a year before they give you the code. Does anyone know a trusted website where you can unlock the international SGS3?
BTW! Can someone give me the link to "rooting method" carrier unlock? I might just root it if I can't find a trusteed website.
Here:

Hi! I'm thinking about getting myself an Galaxy S3, but the one I've been offered is locked to another swedish carrier. I'm using Telia and the phone is locked to "3".
Is there a great carrier unlock-software with minor (or no at all) bugs or required reboots? I'm also thinking about installing Cyanogenmod or another Custom ROM to it..
Is this the one and only great solution that fits me the best?

Sorry but that is the best I can find. Although this doesnt look too difficult. The codes on the phone seem to be better encripted than on other phones so therefore software isnt an option.
Try phoning the carrier you are locked on even if it wasn't your contract and see what they can offer you! 3 Seem to be better about unlocking than other carriers as they are based in the uk they are required by law.
hope this helps

Better to stick with GalaxSim Unlock for now

[Q] Imported HTC Titan will work in India?

a friend of mine is in the US....can i ask her to pick a HTC Titan for me?
also, if i want a contract-free,SIM-unlocked, is one available?
Or Will it have to be unlocked from my end? thanks...
Also, there is NO LTE/4G in India yet. There is only 3G and I am using a GSM...Will the imported phone work.

Hi, i have a HTC Titan (from UK), and works exceptionally well in Mumbai, India. There isn't any radio issues (3G/Edge) and call quality as well as battery life is just fantastic. Don't know if same applies to a unit from USA & whether you need to unlock or not.

Yeah, it is Titan, NOT Titan II. And i did not required any special unloack, i just put my SIM and it works perfevtly. Again, it is UK and NOT USA version. IMHO it is worth all the hassle to get it from overseas, it is just great.

AFAIK "Jailbreaking" is a term for iOS. For WP, we need to install "HSPL" in order to install any custom ROMs. By default it comes with "SPL". So what i meant was, i installed "HSPL" & then custom ROM... and now back to "SPL" (factory settings). Hope this explains a bit.

If you have to send your Titan I back for repair you have to return it to it's "factory-state" or else you might as well shoot your own toes off for all the good it will do I'm living proof you can kiss HSPL goodbye; the fun starts when you try to put it back on the 2nd time!

Yes and no; you must HSPL to install a custom rom; think of SPL and stock as a Catholic marriage; it's the annulment that counts.

I would just enjoy the phone for now and wait. There is confirmation on unlocking the boot and getting root if this is true which it seems to be there is not much we can do with it until our devs start cooking home made goodies. The only reason I would be anxious to root is for tethering but there are apps that will give you tether without rooting in the play store.
I'm not an addict I just flash a lot.

[Q] Advice needed on what to buy

I need a bit of advice on what to buy. I'm currently on AT&T contract with my old iPhone 5, but want to buy the One. I have a few options:
1. Craigslist seller #1 ($500)- It's a 32GB Global Unlocked version. However, they said that it will work with AT&T but it will only be HSPA + not LTE. Is this true?? He ahd it on AT&T but couldnt get LTE. I checked the HTC website and the 32GB Global Unlocked version did have one compatible band (700MHz) with AT&T's LTE, so I can't see why it wouldnt work. What do you guys think?
2. Craigslist seller #2 ($500)- She has a 32GB T-Mobile version that she got as a gift at a HTC event. It has never been activated. We tried calling TMO last night to get it unlocked, but they were clueless. I did find that I could get it unlocked for around $25 from a site online. If we do this, will it work on AT&T LTE? Any way to remove the TMO bloatware and crap from it?
3. Buy the phone direct from AT&T outright ($600). It's guaranteed to work with their LTE, but would come with the bloatware. It's more than the craigslist sellers, but at least I'd have the support of AT&T if anything ever went wrong with it (since I bought it from them). However, it's only like $30 less than the 64GB Developer edition
4. Buy direct from HTC (32GB global unlocked or Dev edition). This way guarantees me that I get the fastest updates (is that true for both or only the Dev edition) and no carrier bloatware, but I'd have to wait 2-4 weeks for the phone to arrive, and I'm impatient as hell. I know it's the smartest and best option, but I dont really feel like waiting.
If I can get #1 working on AT&T LTE, I think it's my best option, but I'm not sure if that will work. According to this XDA post, the Global Unlocked version should work with AT&T LTE, but the seller is telling me that it doesnt.
So what do you guys think? What's my best move & option here?

Grr, yeah that's what I was thinking. I guess it's the smarter option. Would probably be better to get the Dev edition for $50 more and a few weeks of waiting. I want to make sure I get software updates as fast as possible. I'm still stumped.

Any thoughts on option #1? Seems strange that it would have one of the correct AT&T LTE bands, but not work on AT&T. Maybe a different APN setting? I dunno. That seems like the best option, provided I can get it to work on AT&T.
You're on a development forum.. remember that.
It all comes down to this: are you happy with HSPA+ Speeds? If so, save $100 and get the unlocked version. If you want LTE, get the phone direct from AT&T. You will not get LTE speeds from any One except the AT&T model, this is proven by numerous accounts of people doing reviews on YouTube using the unlocked on AT&T.
Now, if you decide to get the AT&T, first thing to understand is you're on a developement forum.. how many people here (all of which are on AT&T still have their bloatware installed? Almost no one. I have One, and the first thing I did was unlock bootloader, root, flash a stock ROM (TrickDroid) which comes with many benificial features, including NO bloat, and fixes for bugs in HTC stock firmware.
Trust me, you're going to want to unlock, root and flash a custom ROM.
As for updates, the people that will get the updates first, before anyone else, is us. Because we are on a developement forum. People will start cooking up updates before HTC even released anything. And once AT&T or HTC starts rolling out the updates, we, XDAers will definitely know about it. And the ROMS will start getting updates.
So go for the LTE version, and know, you'll be bloat free, speeedy and the first to hear about any updates.

I'm reasonably technical, but not a dev or engineer. Can you point me to the beginner's guide to rooting and flashing roms?
Also, I heard conflicting reports about the Dev Unlocked phone direct from HTC working on AT&T LTE, so I dont know what to believe anymore. I guess the AT&T version is the best bet.

Alright here's how it works. Once you get to the AT&T HTC One section, that's the start. From there you see catigories. General is mostly for stories and such, that's why this thread should be in Q and A. Then there's stuff like themes and apps section, and accessories (self explanitory) then the good stuff. Origional Development is developement that has been done SPECIFICALLY for the AT&T variant of the One. The Developement section can be ports of other phones or other variants. So, in the Developement section, we find this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2245776
[XMOD] MoDaCo Toolkit (with HTC One specific mods)
That is a guide to unlocking bootloader, rooting and flashing.
Do you have a PC? If so things are a little simpler if you ask me.
Hope that helps, and I'm glad someone made a noob friendly guide because I had to do it all manually before they made it. Haha

Actually, bad idea a bit. You're going to want hardware specific drivers installed and if I remember, parallel and drivers can be weird. I would try to figure out the OS X way about things. It can be hard for even a windows computer to get the drivers installed correctly so good luck with a virtual OS.

Just to consign, if you want it to work on att lte it has to be an att branded One. Also, avoid 2nd hand att devices unless you know the individual personally. If you purchase a device then they call it in lost/ stolen, it will be added to our blocklist and it cannot be used on our network.

Im around 3yrs with simple mobile and after 3 yrs everything can be changed. Which servis ( and if you knoe the deal ) is the best for my unlocked i9300 att or t-mobile ? if cant go with verizon.
I want to have $50 or less per month and unlimited everything.
Like i said i found http://goo.gl/nfXnij and have to choose att or tmobile sim card. I can go also with family 2 lines.
Also what about verizon http://goo.gl/CbS0r ??
Which deal and service is the best today ?
Does the i9300 work on both? Compare att frequencies and t-mobile with i9300.
Would you not be better getting a t-mobile version or att version?
Can't help with plans. Remember, the i9300 isn't sold officially in the US so most of us are not Americans

Does the i9300 work on both? Compare att frequencies and t-mobile with i9300.

Well ... good to know
You will only get 3G on AT&T, unless you're in one of the areas that T-Mobile has started adding their new frequency towers in. So you're best bet is AT&T. I'm American. And use my I9300 on AT&T fine.

China Telecom custom made Galaxy S III i939 and i939d (dual sim card )
Everything is same to i9300 except only GSM and CDMA (someone says can be able to use WCDMA while outside the Chinese territory and roaming, but I think it's highly unlikely )

And last chance ...

We cannot determine if a specific make & model will or will not work with Page
Plus. In general, you can use any unlocked, Verizon-compatible, CDMA phone on
our network.
If the handset is not an approved Page Plus Cellular device, we cannot
guarantee that web access or picture messaging will work properly on the phone.
We do not have any server information to provide if the device is not an
approved Page Plus phone.
Should you activate any non-approved Page Plus phone on our system we can
provide you with our basic programming sequence, but once more we cannot
guarantee the programming of the device will be successful, nor will we have a
way of telling you exactly why a phone will not work with Page Plus. We can
provide troubleshooting for most Page Plus approved devices. If the device you
are trying to activate is not an approved Page Plus device, troubleshooting may
be limited to the information we have available.

No one has such a hope as I
Another answer from pageplus
you may have enough to go with that. I personally am not familiar with rooting and such. I can flash devices, but not into all the extra things you can do with them. Send me a PM via FB and I will try to explain some of the things you need and we can go from there.
what do you think ? Or he :0 ?

I don't know what you're asking. There is nothing that rooting or flashing can do to change the hardware of an i9300 to CDMA.

Yes .. sorry i was in rush.
So one more time. I asked about unlocked i9300 ill work with pageplus. He answer "Only if you have it flashed". So i told him i have rooted phone and change ROM often and is this enought or i need something else like program or setup. And he answer "you may have enough to go with that. I personally am not familiar with rooting and such. I can flash devices, but not into all the extra things you can do with them. But you already answered this and i trust you more then him.
You can never use an i9300 on verizon as CDMA. You have to use it as GSM. Im not sure who page plus are it what they offer in gsm. You'd need to compare their gsm frequency bands with the i9300.
