[Q] Neutrino, Fingerprint & Widgetlocker. - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

First of all :
I searched about this problem and found nothing. I wouldn't post here if I could have found a solution by myself.
Hello,
I'm using NeutrinoGT 2.2 ROM and I would like to use WidgetLocker and the fingerprint scanner. Here is what I would like to get :
1 - Press Power or Volume keys to wake up the phone. WidgetLocker appears.
2 - Swipe my finger.
3 - Phone unlock.
But here is what I have :
1 - Press Power or Volume keys to wake up the phone. WidgetLocker appears.
2 - Swipe finger : Haptic feedback.
3 - Widgetlocker stay on the screen. I must slide the tab to unlock my phone.
OR
1 - Press Power or Volume keys to wake up the phone. WidgetLocker appears.
2 - Slide the tab.
3 - CM7 lockscreen appear.
4 - Swipe my finger. Haptic feedback. Phone unlocked.
I also checked CM settings/lockscreen/disable Lockscreen. If not, I have to slide one more tab each time I unlock the phone (CM7's tab)
I'm using lastest WidgetLocker from market.
What should I do ? Where am I wrong ?
Thanks in advance !

why would you use another locker on top of 2 lockers already in the phone?i am also using neutrino and for me,i don't have the widget locker
without it,my phone is like this(no settings yet):
1.press power/unlock button or volume keys
2.cm7 slide to unlock
3.finger scanner slide finger
4.unlock
after turning off the cm7->lockscreen->unlock option->skip on security,it goes like this:
1.press power/unlock button or volume keys
2.cm7 slide finger to unlock
3.unlock
imho, you should just uninstall the widget locker

I know, but I would like to have a customized lockscreen with music controls, weather, etc.
And that's not possible with CM7 stock lockscreen.

well,i think you know how to remove cm7's slide to unlock.if not,i did post it before.
i don't know what's so special about widget unlocker since never use it before.but if you want the music, you can use winamp and poweramp.though don't know the weather widget
well, this is my suggestion.skip the finger scanner all together if possible.it's a nuisance actually(though i've gotten used to it)just use the widget locker's unlock.the widget locker is made for ever normal phone and the only phone that have a finger scanner is only the atrix.so the company won't make an exception to make a finger scanner JUST FOR THE ATRIX.so your options are:
1.go through at least 2 lockscreen(widget locker+fingerprint)
2.skip the fingerprint(get all the widget locker goodness)
3.skip widget locker(get a more secure unlocker:finger print scanner)

My problem is that WidgetLocker doesn't work with the fingerprint scanner, although it should work. It is stated here.
WidgetLocker should disappear when I swipe my finger. But it does not.
I know this is possible, this guy succeeded.
I'm not interested in PowerAMP or other apps. I just want to use WidgetLocker because it is a really great app.

hmm, well this i cannot comment.why don't you just pm the guy who actually stumbled upon it.he did say it was because of the update.sorry, can't help anymore.
imo,it's more of the app update related kind of problem and can't be solved by normal enable/disable options.just my opinion.
good luck on finding the solution
edit:re-read the post and seemed like it was almost luck-related solution.also, the last post sort of stated the possible solution.also do note the date.it's july last year so it does not necessarily work now as some updates could have screwed up your chance to get it working.again just my opinion
re-edit again: pm the guy that did it

Thanks graphidz

I'm so new with CM, didn't have a chance to explore a newly flashed Neutrino yet, but your post skip me the hassle.

Can Neutrino's CM7 have this option:
to unlock screen, you have to swipe finger OR enter PIN.
On the lockscreen, there's a button to directing you alternative way to unlock (by entering correct PIN).
The current Gingerbread support this ( I don't know about stock, I used to have PieCrust 1.6)

Does anyone else want a lockscreen for their Archos?

Hey all. I always wondered why Archos didn't make a lockscreen (like most android phones have). I always liked to have some widgets and info on my old iPhone lockscreen so I could see basic info without having to unlock the device.
Has anyone come across a way to add a lockscreen to Gen8 devices? An option to turn on/off the lockscreen would be a nice addition by Archos.
I had used this basic method to lock my screen.
Settings --> Location & security --> Change screen lock
You can use Pattern or PIN to unlock screen.
If you need Slide to unlock, you can search "Unlock Screen" for apps in market.
jakkrith's method is great. or you could purchase widget locker from the Market:

Force Closes on A70S.
I think what Techngro means is a lockscreen which also shows some useful information like calendar, todo list, etc..without a need to unlock it.

I installed widgetlocker, but I got a problem now.
When I try to put out my screen (by pressing the power button)
The screen will turn black, as it has to, but then the slide bar will return.
I have to push the power button again to let the screen stay black.
Is there a setting I set wrong? Or is there a way to let the screen turn black and stay out at once? (until I push a button ofc)

Some folks have reported sleep issues with widget locker. you should check out the thread on XDA for possible solutions. i believe there is setting in WL to prevent it from coming back on:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=732986
I looked there, but couldn't really find it in the 680 comments.
Used the search function, but I don't think I use the right words..
Can you tell me where to look, or what words to look for?

Yes, that is what I was thinking about. I'll take a look at widget locker though.

[Q] Disable sliding finger lock

Is there a way to disable the sliding finger method to unlock? If i set the lock to none it just doesn't use either pin, patter, password or fingerprint, but the sliding finger always gets there.
on some other phones i have seen some apps but from what i have read they are not stable. When i hit the power button i want to go straight to the home screen.
Maybe there is an .apk i can freeze on titanium backup to make this work.
Have you tried NoLock from the market?
NoLock works well but I prefer Widgetsoid. It gives you a toggle for the slide lock, lets you add a button to any homescreen to lock the screen, as well as toggles for most other common activities, including ring, vibrate or silent.
i am testing nolock some people in other forums said they were having stability problems or that it stopped working. so far it works.
No lock 100%, and the widget works well (since I have security finger swipes) to toggle quickly on, or quickly off.
Not what you're looking for, but figured it's worth mentioning for anyone that might be interested: Widgetlocker gives the option to unlock using the back button. The slider seemed to generally work consistently, but the back button is a slight bit quicker and always works for me, which is why I like it. I personally like having a lock screen for just checking the time and such, though I can see why some people may not care to have the lock screen.

[Q] Lockscreen button/gesture alternative LS

Hi,
I did search for lockscreens and didn't find anything close to what i am looking for. I used to use a Jailbroken iPhone and one of the only things I miss is this lockscreen system I had in place;
If I wanted to lock the screen and not have to put in a pin number to open it every time I just pressed the sleep button. However if I wanted it to have pin lock I just held the sleep button for a second.
It's so simple and saves so much time.
So I suppose if I had the standard lockscreen (I am Note 3) with a pin unlock, and the alternative being WidgetLocker (with no pin unlock) then i could just switch between the two. If that's possible, then it would just be a question of assigning widgetlocker to a button/gesture.
Do you know of anyway to achieve what I want?
Thanks, Chris

Pixel or google now launcher

Hello, has anyone tried any other launchers yet? I'd prefer one with the google now cards.
I assume the pixel or google launcher will work well??
Let me know whatyou have tried
I use the Google Now launcher. It's in the store. Been using it on my last few phones and love it.
Just installed it. Works great (so far). I copied my Nexus 5X over to set up the v30 and installing the launcher restored all my previous icons and screens that were hidden by the LG launcher.
i used the google now launcher but the icons are too big.
downloaded the Nova launcher with Google Companion - much better. smooth, fast, and looks great. plus it has the pixel style app drawer (scrolling up)

I am currently using Nova Launcher on my Moto X Pure, but I couldn't find "Google Companion" in the play store. Am I missing something?
I can't wait to buy my unlocked v30 on (hopefully) October 27!

or google "google companion nova"
I use Nova prime and it's amazing truly. But I've used it on all my last phones. The v30 clearly runs it the best but still truly liked go launcher years ago until they got way into money grabbing for features.
I'm using the modified compatible pixel launcher. I also have Nova prime but I'm liking this so far. Works great!! https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.xda-developers.com/pixel-launcher-2-android-oreo-download/amp/

That's the same one I've been using. It really does work great. I like that swipe right for Google Now works. :good:
Has anyone figured out how to use a third party launcher like Nova with finger print to unlock and double tap to sleep?

Under Nova Settings. Gestures & Inputs, Double Tap - Choose Screen Lock. To set that gesture to work with the finger print scanner you have to set it as a preference. If you are not prompted when you set it up go Settings Advanced - Screen Lock Method, Choose 5 second option.
There is a slight delay if you double tap and want to turn the screen back on with the finger print scanner. (Pressing the power button twice will get the phone on and unlocked in this case if 5 seconds has not gone by.) But overall it's a workable compromise for me.
I am using the beta version of Nova in case this is a beta item...
Take Care!!

If you using nova prime you can set double tap gesture to lock screen.

I use Action launcher. There is a google now plug in, but I just set up a gesture to swipe from left to right that opens it without the plug in.
Action launcher is packed with great features, like covers.

If the finger print scanner is not working on unlock from the AOD, then open Nova Settings. Go to Advanced, Screen Lock Method. Make sure you have Timeout selected. Then when you double tap the screen will go black for 5 seconds, then the AOD will come on and you should be able to unlock it with the scanner. If you ever want to unlock it quicker, press the power button once to turn off, then unlock with the scanner.. Usually for me the 5 seconds is not an issue.
If you can't live with the 5 second delay, then you will have to use another launcher. I don't know if Action Launcher or Lawnchair suffer the same issues.

No issues with finger print and action launcher. I don't see how a launcher would break it anyways...

On Nova, for some reason if you set it to actually lock the screen and not go blank for the 5 seconds, it will make you enter the actual password. I tried it and it wouldn't accept the fingerprint. Kinda weird.

That is odd, my 1 minute timeout works with no issues.
Action launcher did remove the double tap to turn the screen off unfortunately, they said google wanted it removed for some reason.

Notification unlock screen without swipe

Hi Guys,
I'm pretty new to EMUI but I got this anoying thing. When I am using WhatsappWeb for example and I get several notifications, my phone unlocks itself and goes to the homescreen without any need to swipe on the lockscreen. This also occures when I lock and directly unlock it over the buttons (home or power), it just jump over the lockscreen like I would have swiped.
It is probably configuration based, something like "10 seconds after locking -> quick unlock" or something but I havent found out yet.
I want to swipe everytime to unlock the lockscreen and for sure notifications shouldnt be able unlock the phone.
I dont have pattern/PIN/password lock or fingerprint enabled.
Thanks
For this, you could use faceunlock + pin or faceunlock + scheme.
Whith faceunlock, there is an option to unlock only after you slide...
