damaged internal storage - Motorola Droid RAZR

I've been having trouble with the sd card in my new RAZR. Just this morning I noticed that I had a new notification "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem."
If I clicked the notification it gave me the option to format but it would never format the card. I was still able to mount the drive to my pc so I made a backup of all the files on the card to my computer.
I did quite a bit of searching on the forum and eventually came across a post that said to try formatting the card with this utility:
https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/
After I did a quick format with SD Formatter 3.1 I then noticed a new notification "Damaged internal storage - Storage damaged. You may have to reformat it."
Now I'm still able to mount the sd card on my pc via the phone but windows doesn't recognize any disk in the drive. I get this error "There is no disk in drive X. Insert a disk, and then try again."
Has anyone had this issue? Any idea what causes it and how to resolve it? At this point, I have a full backup of the contents, so I'm only concerned with resolving the sd card issues and making the notifications disappear.
Thanks

I had this issue, removed as card and blew into the slot and replaced the card, haven't had it happen again so far.

Yeah, I've powered down the phone, removed the card, replaced it and powered back on but I still have the same errors.

Called Verizon and they told me to go to one of their stores to see if swapping out a new SD Card would fix it. Hopefully the problem doesn't happen again.

Stopped by the Verizon store and they swapped out a new SD card. The "Blank SD Card - SD card blank or has unsupported filesystem" error went away but I still had the "Damaged internal storage - Storage damaged. You may have to reformat it" error. This time it allowed me to format the internal storage.
So it turns out that the SD card was completely hosed and the external SD card got corrupted, but after the format was resolved.
I'm still not sure what caused this but I hope it's not something regular as I have had the phone less than a week.

Every time i got a problem with any external device, like sd card, I use this powerfull tool Aconis Disk Director. It has a lot of options that maybe solve you problem.

I've been seeing this too. How do they swap out the internal sd?

SD card not mounting after format

I have a small 4gb microSD card that i had from my old phone and have been using it on the Atrix. I want to get a bigger one but seeing as I have this one now I wanted to format it and use it for backups, etc. It's been working find in my Atrix until just now. I formatted it using the Settings -> Storage -> Format SD card option. Now it will no longer mount properly. I have rebooted the phone a few times, removed the SD card and reinserted it, etc. It recognizes the card and says "Preparing SD card. Checking for errors." in the notification area. But it never completes that and mounts it.
Just now it said "Damaged SD card. SD card damaged. You may have to reformat it." So i tried again to reformat using the phone, and it still will not correctly mount. I'll try some more things, but wondering if anyone else has had this happen or knows of a solution. Thank you.
Problem solved myself. lol. I placed the card in my laptop and saw it was a mess of garbage files. Weird. So I formatted it on windows, then put it back in my Atrix, and all is well. heh.

External card problem

Hey guys, I'm gonna try to explain this in most detail. Yesterday spontaneously my External MicroSD card couldn't be detected by my phone(Vibrant SGH-T959). First I thought a simple reboot would work although it failed. Second I have tried unmounting the SD card, and putting it back in and also didn't work. I decided to switch from my JellyBean 4.1.1 ROM back to Schimera v2.2 ICS. I thought the rom was causing the problem, although the problem continued on ICS. I have tried turning my phone off, taking the SD card and all of those combinations and none of them worked. I tried turning on and off USB debugging mode which didn't fix the problem either. I tried using the Computer Management to see if it detected at least my SD card and it didn't. The only way my SD card was actually red when I used a MicroSD adapter. I formatted the card from there and tried all of the solutions again and nothing worked aswell. So now I know that the SD card is working fine but just none being detected by phone or through the USB cable. So I decided to go into my settings > storage to find that my internal storage is only 1.85GB, my model is the 16GB version and I checked previously before. As I scroll down I realize there is something called USB Storage right underneath it and it says 12.67GB which is supposed to be the amount for the Internal SD card. This part is why I'm horribly confused. Also underneath that there is the SD Card and it only displays one button which says Mount SD Card which is disabled when I put the SD card in or out. I tried the option on top for Erase SD Card and it didn't work either. I looked through quite a few threads on this forum trying the ways I mentioned in this thread and they didn't work. Any help is highly appreciated. Thank you
*NEW* I just installed DoubleTwist from the android Play market and when I went into settings and tapped on storage this is what came up: Internal (0.0GB) Memory Card (12.8GB) For one, my phone has 16GB internal storage, My memory card is only 8 GB. *NEW*
*NEW TEST* I tried putting my microSD card into my sister device and it worked on hers, I tried putting her SD card into my vibrant and it didn't read it either!*NEW TEST*
Your 1.85 is the part of your 16gb Vibrant that us partitioned for apps. The 12.67gb is your internal SD. And your other setting should be your external SD or emmc card.
When you say you can't see your external are you looking at external and it isn't showing anything with a file explorer? Try looking in your emmc folder. Have you tried another card?

Thanks for clearing that up for me, and I can't access my card in the file explorer either. I don't have an EMMC folder and I tried going into recovery to "mount emmc" but it just gave me an error. Also I did not try another card because I don't have one lying around.. Plus when I rebooted my phone in the notification menu it says Checking SD card for errors and then it disappears. There is no message once that one leaves.

[Q] "SD Card Damaged" - no, it's not.

Hi!
Today, I ran into problems with my SD card not being recognized. After booting, the process usually looks like this:
1. Displays "Preparing SD: Checking for errors" in the notification area, options to mount wither SD or internal storage are grayed out, "Unavailable".
2. No notification any more, internal storage is mounted. SD card shows an option to be mounted, but if it is activated, the storage manager hangs.
3. SD card isn't mounted, I get a notification that "SD Card is damaged. You may have to reformat it."
Each of these takes about 10-20 minutes to happen.
However, the SD is actually fine: If I open it in recovery, I can see everything is there and that there is no damage to it. Unfortunately, I have not found a way to access my data while in recovery, and I don't have a reader for a microSD card at hand. And I need that data to know if an assignment for my university is due tomorrow :\ So, any help?
Device is a Motorola Atrix, originally rooted, with CM7 (Neutrino ROM). Tried wiping the caches and fixing permissions in recovery, which had no effect except that it unrooted the phone -.-
Thanks for any replies!

Trouble with SD card

When I try to do things in TWRP it gives me an error that says E:Unable to mount storage. I thought maybe my sd card needs to be reformatted or something, so I went to the system settings once booted and looked under storage. At the bottom "Mount sd card" and Erase SD card are both greyed out and I cant select them. When I connect my phone to my pc it shows only internal storage instead of an internal folder and sd card folder.
All of my data on my sd card still shows up when im on the phone though and I believe all of my data on my sd card is showing up as under internal storage.
Anyone have any ideas as to whats going on?

I had a similar issue today, my SD card was corrupted, this seems to happen with my SD card and android devices every now and then and I'm not sure why. Putting the SD card in my computer showed most of the files were okay, however, there were some that were messed up. Mine was pretty messed up so it is looking like I'm going to have to reformat it if repairing the corrupted parts doesn't work.
I just found a sd card adapter for my pc and used it. I ran chkdsk on the sd card and it found a ton of errors. If I reformat the sd card; what should I reformat it to? Fat32? That's what it is currently.
Edit-After running chkdsk f: /f on my sd card im able to select the mount and erase options now. It seems to have fixed all my issues.

Corrupt SD Card Solved By Rebooting 2-4 Times?

Recently purchased the Cat S60 (Android 6.0.1), which has so far proven to be a fantastic phone, however, the SD Card, a Lexar 128GB, has a habit of suddenly becoming "corrupt", but it isn't. I plug it into my computer with a reader, do a chkdsk, finds no problems, and plug it back into the phone, but it still shows up as corrupt. However, if I reboot the phone a few times, it suddenly realizes it isn't corrupt.
My question is, is there a reason for this happening, and if so, is there a way to fix it?
I would backup everything on your SD Card to your PC. Format SD Card in the S60, once you have formatted the SD Card in the S60,
To Format the SD Card in S60. Go to Setting --> Storage & USB
- Select the SD Card in question
- Select the 3 vertical dotes and select settings
- Select Format (Format as Internal makes the SD card part of the internal memory)
transfer the contents back to the SD Card. You might found a corrupt file while copying over which could be causing the SD getting corrupt all the time.
I have the same issue with my nvidia shield k1 and have found a lot of people having same problems with marshmallow phones.its probably the integrated space formatting.
