Hello for all
I am a simple user wph7. After the loss of my HD2, I have not pondered long and I bought a TITAN
Concerns with current phones 2nd generation, that the transition to UNLOCK is really hard, even for programmers. (otherwise, you have the option at $ 100 for an account MS DEV, and not HTC INTEROP-UNLOCK or ROOT)
So, up to here, we're all in the impossibility to anything without paying.
Luckily, we have few tools at our disposal and a chance, member has a test phone with some differences with those commercially aviable.
1 : we need throw the bootloader version : 1.3.160015.3 (130143)
2 : The OS is a MOJOBLD (a pre-nodo version for MOZART with possibility update), we cant throw here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1456504 the last update for this rom by HTC, so, now i searh the same in 7008 or last to begin cook.
3 : Radio software version : 16.20.01.18_16.19.02.22U
Why this? because the TITAN TEST DEVICE, update only the OS and not the driver or bootloader by zune.
When we open the last rom form HTC to TITAN, we can view:
1)0x200-spl.nb
2)0x300-radio.nb
3)0x380-radiocut.nb
4)0x400-os.nb
5)0x831-unknow.nb
6)0x930-unknow.nb
when we use the [WP7 KITCHEN] OS Builder V1.3.199 FULL (09.12.2011)http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1330850 and compare with a mozart rom, 3 of 6 CID are the same.
The structure of rom are same, we need modify the drivers in os.
look and see, if any search or thorw post here bootloader or radio
Thanks

Try to use a full build number rather than something that generic. That may yield a bit more information.

i have stude the radio rom, with a chance, that's it's a version 1, and we win
Good News

I am bit intimidated here. Only started using Hero for a week. Used to serial flasher of Windows mobile. Anyway,
I have a G2 with ROM version 1.76; I just wondered if I would be able to flash the new 2.73 ROM (official) on G2. When I insert the my serial number on the HTC website, it says the this ROM is not suitable for my device. I guess it is because it was intended for unbranded Hero. I have downloaded the ROM from XDA. Can I just run it flash it on G2..? Is there any precautions I need to take. HTC may release a new ROM for Tmobile G2. Bur I dont have the patience to wait. Any info will be highly appreciated.
Regards
Anyone tried this..? Or will I brick my phone..?
To be honest, if you're not going to install a custom ROM, you probably might as well wait until the T-Mobile release of the ROM. I doubt it will be long now, and it will just make the process a "little" easier and you'll have less issues if you end up having to send the phone back under warranty.
For what it's worth, I flashed my G2 with Modacos ROM without issue (currently at 2.2 as it seems 2.3 has more issues).
Regards,
Dave
Thanks for your reply. I am not planning to install any custom ROMs yet. But I would like to try the official ROM. Do u think it would be problem if I upgrade with generic 2.73 ROM..?
Another issue is, I cannot sync with HTC sync. I am using vista Home premium. Phone says it cannot detect HTC sync on computer. I tried turning off the Frewall and antivirus. Any ideas..?
You won't break anything. I downloaded the "official" 2.73 ROM from Modaco and it's running fine on my T-Mobile G2.
I phoned tech support about this in the UK and after a long and heated argument got the guy to actually give me the information. He said that the Update for the T-mobile version of the Hero would be released on the 1st November. This is really poor work, especially as Orange have managed it in about a week.
According to the Official T-Mobile UK forum they are 'hoping' to get it released this week.
Also try updating HTC Sync. The version on the HTC support site is a later version than the one on the memory card. You might find it works better.
I have a HD2 phone with these software specs out of the box:
Manila Version ( 2.5.192xxx ),
ROM Verion (1.43.405 xxx) WWE (70124)
Radio Ver ( 2.04 xxx)
I have been searching for a suitable ROM in htc official site to Upgrade my ROM, but no matter how much I tried, I only get this:
"This software is not suitable for your phone"
I checked my IMEI in https://www.numberingplans.com/?page=analysis&sub=imeinr and my phone turned out to be originated from Europe. But I get the same sentence when I tried Europe countries in htc official website.
Can someone kindly shed a light on this?
Thanks fellas
P.S
TBH, I don't see any similarity between my phone OS interface and that of people who have hd 2 Manila version ( from youtube ). Isn't it strange?
probably a branded device sir

You can use the GoldCard technique. (I know it works, but don't have experience with it)
Wow very original (initial ROM)....
Looks like you have an UK ROM http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=9105826&postcount=1. So you could try the UK HTC Site.
Have you checked if you have an Operator logo at startup? If so, go to the Operators website, maybe the posted the ROM over there.
You must also check your SPL at bootup and report it over here.
HSPL your HD2 then it doesn't matter WHERE your phone is from. As long as its not a t-mobile phone which has more RAM/ROM than normal you can flash any HD2 rom you want...

Sorry for SPL you have to enter BootLoader (press and hold volume-down when booting the device), but don't bother, cause if I read one of your prev posts, you don't have HSLP installed.
You could also contact HTC Support, maybe they can help you finding your upgrade. Cause you have an ancient ROM on your HD2. I believe for all HD2 devices (even branded) there has to be at least an 1.66... or 1.72... ROM available.
Btw. You don't have an Operator logo somewhere at startup, it's all HTC logo's???

I forgot to mention that I finally found a ROM upgrade for my phone from htc TAIWAN website, downloaded and installed it. Apparently my phone origin is Taiwan. And now the language of my phone became Taiwanese. The question is that how my TAIWANESE phone had English language on it if it was not HSPL'ed? ( Actually I didn't check the Bootloader BEFORE upgrading my phone, but I believe if my phone had been HSPL'ed, the word HSPL would be seen in bootloader even AFTER Rom upgrading, right?
Is it possible that a Taiwanese phone has English language on it out of factory?

No, it's all HTC.
Read ALL the previous replies. Told OPTUS that I could not get the Win6.5 ROM upgrade from HTC, launched a week ago. They told me to give them the IMEI (above the serial number).
The operator then told me that I needed to download from the South African HTC site, since that's where my ex-Telstra phone came from. But that site seems off-line at this moment.

perhaps you could look here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=623283 and take a look at the 1.66 roms, they are available for (almost) all EU/ASIA official HTC devices.
or take a look here

see prev post... maybe you need the wwe south-east asia rom.
OK, here's the thing...I was donated a HTC Pro Three device with 320mbRAM...I know it's a pre-release device, but I was wondering, since I can't find anything about it here, is there a way of upgrading ROM, becausse official HTC site won't accept my S/N as it is a prototype device...I would like a ROM upgrade, but this is holding me back... Or would it work for someone to send me a ragular S/N of a retail HD2 so I can download official ROMs-would those ROMs work on my device, or are there some special ROMs for this pre-release device?
Thanks in advance, please help, I'm getting desperate here.
AFAIK, you can use custom ROMs on your device with no problem, as it's the ROM size that's an issue, not RAM (there could be more to it than that though).
You can get a list of serial numbers from the 2nd post of this thread...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=609477
ROM is 512mb, just like the retail units....thanks, I'll give it a go...
Ooooh and one more thing - will those official ROMs for retail HD" work on mine Pro Three? I'm affraid I might brick it if force those ROMs on mine device...
My HTC7 has never been upgraded and still stock. I have made a full backup of the phone thanks to the great XDA tutorials & i have networked unlocked it. Im not sure what move to make next and could with some help from the XDA oracles !
What i would like is the RTM mango with Chevron ( if thats possible?)
My current build is>
Network: Orange UK
Model: HTC 7 Mozart PD67100
OS version: 7.0.7004.0
Firmware: 2250.09.12435.061
Hardware: 0004
Radio Software: 5.50.09.18_22.24.50.09U
Radio Hardware: A.102.0.D4
Bootloader: 1.24.2250.35(111169)40
Chip SOC: 2.2.5.0
I was considering updating through Zune first to make sure the firmware ect. was all updated also, and then upgrading the O/S, but these are just thoughts of a noob
I assume by the lack of replies the forum isn't very helpful to new members who need advice. I know i have alot to learn, but i was hoping someone could point me in the right direction.
Hi josweet
WP7 is so new that most of use are pretty green ourselves.
Try heading over to the HD7 forum. You may have better luck there...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1217
You say your HD7, yet in the build specs you list a Mozart and this is posted in the Mozart section.
A bit confusing.
I will assume you have a Mozart, if you do not then head over to the correct phone section and try asking there
So if you want to get Mango RTM (Build 7720) onto your phone and unlocked I recently did it myself and its awesome. It's not very hard to do either.
Head over here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1195647
Then put HSPL onto your Mozart, this will allow you to install custom ROMs onto your device.
Once you have HSPL take a look at this ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1206853
It is a NoDo custom ROM which is already unlocked.
Flash your device with the ROM and then take a look at the guide in the 2nd post over her:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=16594869#post16594869
That is what I followed and did, it worked fine. Also make sure to read the threads I have linked you to and remember there is always the small chance you may damage your device and I cannot be held responsible. You do everything at your own risk.
Enjoy, ask if you need more help
Psyclown, thankyou very much for your reply. Sorry i hadnt answered up until now but i had given up on this post and moved to reading all the Q&A.
Your absolutely right, my phone is a HTC7 and NOT an HD7 .. im guessing i was having what my dad refers to as a "senior moment" .
Right, as soon as this kids are back at school and its quiet, im going to sit down and have a good read of those links to posted.. with a little luck ill also get mine upgraded within the week.
I didnt want to just guess at which O/S to install only to find out later i then had to roll back to a previous one in order to allow me to install a custom rom... hence my noob question Thanks again
Moved post
Just bought second hand HTC Radar. Sseller sold it, because he couldn't update it, because of error 80180048.
He said he thinks the phone is developer model and it may need a firmware....and goood luck!
I can't find how to crab a screenshot on Windows phone, but there is several additional items in the menus:
TestSuite
zBig Boss Settings
zCompass
zGesture Bester
zSensorView
zSart KITL
Is there any standard (original) firmware for radar? The phone is unlocked like every HTC phone sold here in Finland. Is it wise to contact HTC, if they could help, or can I get trouble of doing that?
edit: I'm completely newbie, but I found this:
Model: HTC Radar C110e
Software : WIndows 7.5
OS Version: 8107.WM7_Main_Ship (mojobld).20111201-2014
Firmware revision number: 1600.2200.10807.401
Hardware revision number: 0002
Bootloader version: 1.8.160015.3(131865)
Chip SOC version: 1.6.0.0
try hard reset?

Thanks for the quick reply!
Yeah, I tried Hard reset. I also found that link, when trying to find help with that error number. In that help site there is a warning: DO NOT use the Windows Phone Support Tool if your phone's operating system (OS) version is 7.0.7390.0 or higher.
My phone says it has 7.5.
Do someone know how to recognise if this phone actually is a developer version?
Or maybe it has just a custom firmware?
Is there a way to recognize a custom firmware?
if i were you i would use DFT HSPL and flash a custom rom

Many thanks. As I told I'm pretty new with this stuff, but at least thats looks promising.
By the way, I found out my phone is a developer model for sure.
I found a topic in here when doing a search using the OS version (which looks weird).
I found this:
Radar - Strange build - mojobld ?
I see..
So I presume you can skip DFT HSPL and go straight to flashing some ROM whether is stock or not.
Sent from my Radar C110e using XDA Windows Phone 7 App
In that other thread, a person with developer phone had tried to flash the phone with other firmwares without success. I would really like to get advices from the people here, before doing anything stupid.
I think i made a mistake saying that htc phones in finland are unlocked. What i mean is they are not locked (or branded) by carrier (like Vodafone, orange etc).
i think you could easily unlock the bootloader (DFT HSPL) and flash a fresh ROM, but look for other opinions just to be sure
