OK now that we've had about a week to digest the new Sprint ROM, I thought I would compile my own list of what is good and what are some issues with the new ROM update. It's been a dizzying week trying to keep up with all the updates and issues. Honestly I'm doing this thread for myself so I can EASILY keep track of some the current issues/threads that are being discussed about the new ROM. But if people want to chime in, I'll certainly keep on updating this thread. (Again, this is just a list for reference and NOT a thread to discuss specific issues).
Carrier: Sprint
DCD 3.0.0 ROM
The Good:
1. GPS Functionality (no brainer). The update seems to be lock faster than the leaked ROM. There has been many success stories.
GPS FAQ: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=363431
2. EVDO Rev. A Speeds. It varies in your area but it seems like the majority are getting it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376616
3. Some minor updates.
Some Issues (these are the ones I've been following)
1. Slow IE
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376746
FIXED (Thanks Ranger 093 - See Post #2)
2. Some Battery Issues: (although my battery life seems about the same). There are quite a few threads on this one. Didn't really find one that encompasses everything or found any specific cause.
3. No Bluetooth DUN - (actually read about this on PPC geeks). ICS and WMWifiRouter seems to work OK.
Seems to be a solution but I haven't tried it yet:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=377525
4. Audio adapter Issues: Looks like there is a fix but it required modification of your adapter.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376623
Check out Post #14 for a diagram
5. SMS problems - I don't use this but if someone wants to chime in I can update it.
6. No GPS lock after Mogul goes to sleep: No solution yet but keeping my eye on it.
7. WM5Storage not compatible with Mogul
Evidently there is a hacked fix for it. Haven't had time to test it out yet. (see post #19)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376133
Overall, for me the advantages outweigh the disadvantages but I will still be following them closely, hoping that there will be fixes for all this issues.
Scratch the Slow IE I provided a file that fixes it off of the kaiser forums. Check the second page of this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=376746
The only bug I'm having is that some of my calls have no audio when I pick up. It takes a reboot to get audio back on incoming calls.

I haven't noticed that on mine. Is that a known problem (that most are experiencing)?

It depends on your post per page setting. I have 30 posts per page IIRC, so I only see one page.

In that case - the cab file is in post #15.
I don't have enough posts to post in the developers thread, so I have to ask here and hope someone from there notices. In thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1239058&page=5
Regarding Working GPS files:
Do those files work on a freshly installed ReVaMpEd SS-5 Special Edition (2.3.5) (1.9.9)? I understand these files are from 2.3.4.
I ask because, while GPS *is* working, I only get like 3 to 4 locks, and accuracy is very low. I am wondering if these files will work, and possibly improve the GPS.
Please advise.
Thank you,
TheDarb
Some of the paths in the zip file don't line up with this version of MIUI (like /system/modules)... So I'm definitely awaiting a second or expert opinion here before proceeding.
Thanks.
FIXED: Upgraded to newer MIUI + Disabled AGPS
I had manually tried putting in the GPS files, and it only made GPS not even attempt to start. So I restored and lived with it, until the following ROM became available:
{ROM }MIUI (1.9.30) LE Lithium #2 & SS-11.1 **Updated 10/02/11**
I upgraded to that, and per comments in that thread in the Dev section, I disabled assisted GPS, rebooted once... and TADA! Working GPS whenever I need it.
Takes about 30-45 seconds to get enough locks to get my location, then it stays locked on rock solid. Even worked ... get this ... inside my house!
Thank you for this great ROM, folks! MIUI + GPS, and it seems stable, and battery life has never been better. You guys rock!

ICS on the Prime, for many, took a step back and now claims "ad hoc networks are not supported". So, many of us who have been tethering the last few weeks via a tethering app now cannot as ICS is seeing the network as ad hoc and is now reporting that is not supported. I personally used wireless tether under Honeycomb every single day on my Prime. Now, for me, and many, we cannot. I have a whole growing thread in the general area and it really seems this is the root of the issue for those of us that do not have built in wifi hot spots and use a tether app.
So, is this something a dev can sort out? How to get back ad hoc network support under ICS on the Prime? I have seen topics on it in google like this one, but this "fix" did not work.
(BTW - if a mod thinks this is not in the right place and wants to move it to the General thread, please just delete this as there is already a thread there, but a help request in the dev area seemed logical. If not, sorry.)
///////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////////
IT HAS BEEN SOLVED 2.3.12
Based on a post I read the other day, and that I was asked to test today, I decided to try 1 more time and it worked!! But not how I expected. I tried 3 tests... the final one worked!!
So, here is the process:
1. root is required AND make sure you have your file system app (like Root Explorer) set to make files R/W so you can edit/rename/set permissions
2. turn off wifi
3. go into system/bin and rename wpa_supplicant2 to wpa_supplicant2.bak - that's right folks.. it is NOT wpa_supplicant but wpa_supplicant2 that is running the show
3. download the wpa_supplicant file found here post #24 in my other thread
4. unzip it
5. rename it wpa_supplicant2 NOT wpa_supplicant
6. move it to system/bin and paste it
7. set permissions to xxx, x, xxx (columns) - see more details below if confused
8. go back and start up wifi
9. turn on wifi analyzer and you will see (*)AndroidTether with no red Ad Hoc notation!!
10. click to connect
11. surf and tether away!!
No rebooting needed, it is instant
I am using the good old original Wireless tether 2.0.7 app I always used! None of those beta releases and picking settings and blah blah
Yes, I was able to connect right back to my local wifi with no issues as well!
PLEASE hit the thanks button, I worked long and hard on trying to get this to work
#7 details if you don't understand permissions settings
When you set permissions (long press the file) a pop-up opens and it shows 3 columns with 3 checkboxes in each. Each "x" is to be checked
Read...Write...Execute
x..........x..........x
x......................x
x......................x
This is really a super simple fix for rooted devices. Just search the internet for "ad-hoc" and "wpa_supplicant" and you should be able to figure the rest out pretty easily. However, that said, wpa_supplicant form a previous version of Android (Honeycomb, Gingerbread, etc) might not work.

Yep, look in my post above. I did find one, I did try it, it did not work. The wpa_supplicant I used had no affect. I think this is why we need a dev to square it away and with details on how to install for other users.
i think it would be better for u to try and find a dev in irc vs posting a thread in development section when it is more a question or request.

While I understand that it's easier to just talk to a dev over IRC, I really hope a working solution can be released here soon.

LOL ahh the days or IRC. He means there is an IRC (which I believe stands for Internet Relay Chat?) group/page that you can go to and actually talk (like a chat room I suppose) at that above site. You might get more response from them there. I might pop on there later actually.
I think enabling ad hoc connection is part of the issue. Thing is, the 3rd. party app we used called Wireless Tether is really an Infrastructure tethering method. It worked fine on honeycomb. We know Honeycomb and ICS doesn't support Ad hoc connections. Once we updated to ICS, it changed the way the connection is viewed. Now ICS tells us its an ad hoc connection when its really not. If it were ad hoc, then honeycomb would've never allowed us to connect also.
Since the app is viewed as the wrong connection, ad hoc, its not allowing connection or even network seen in normal settings. Wifi Analyzer can see the network though and also says it ad hoc now. but when you try to connect it will say This connection isn't supported by Android yet.
I got BT PAN method of tethering to work buts its a much slower connection speed. it'll do in the meantime, if needed but the wifi tethering method worked the best n easiest. Seems like phones with built in hotspots feature seem to work along with HTC phones. my phone is Atrix4g and I'm not sure what kind the OP has. Methods that are working for others on their Samsung or HTC phones don't seem to work on ours.
Concisely explained... thanks
(For the record, I use a rooted OG Droid running a simple Pete's ROM - but the issue is pervasive across many many brands)

Actually, the Honeycomb used on the Transformer Prime is perfectly capable of connecting to ad-hoc networks.

interesting. I knew ICS didn't support it and had just read that it started with HC. I never tried my barnacle app, ad hoc, on honeycomb. I always used my wireless tether app.
I wonder why there were several people reporting on Google Android open source page that ad hoc connection wasn't being allowed period. Or why isn't Google/Android allowing this feature across the board.
I have a feeling we will get another update soon to smooth out the initial ICS bugs.
Hey demandarin I did try Barnacle many times... no dice
Anyway, here is some more useful info
I just tried 3 wpa_supplicant files I found for other phones/tablets. None worked. All allowed for wifi fine, none accepted ad hoc.
I have the swap steps down good enough now and know and understand the setup and permissions and such, I feel confident now in the processes to try any wpa_supplicant file. You find one, I have not tried it, I will... but I doubt it will work for 2 reasons
1. it is not specific to our tablet and ICS software
2. we have 2 wpa_supplicant files - that is right 2 - not just 1 so there may be some interdependency as NO thread/forum/blog/post has ever mentioned 2 wpa files
I am sure a dev would know this, but putting it out there that I have tried swapping wpa files to no avail
☞[READ ME 1st] ☆.☆.☆ If YOU DID NOT CREATE "it" THEN IT DOESN'T BELONG IN DEVELOPMENT
A nice sticky at the top of the Dev section where this was first posted. Moved to Q&A
Well, is there anything new to this topic? I think not only a few people are depending on it.
Nothing new. I'm still working on it & emailing devs that fixed the issue in HC before Asus finally fixed it (see my other thread about that for a post I made yesterday)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=21417076&postcount=281
Be rest assured... this issue affects more than just "a few people". I've seen it mentioned on other forums as well. I also suspect it will get worked out in time - but not fast enough for some if us.
Me too. I want my (UK) Asus Prime to connect to Joikuspot
I have ICS and want to use the ad hoc connection on my phone running Joikuspot.
Any news ?
Guys, wireless tether works just fine on the tp with ics if you use version 2.0.7 instead of the current version. I've been tethering my thunderbolt to my tp every day since I got it in Dec 22 with both ics and honeycomb.

I seriously wish people would research the true issue before just posting up that "it works"... there is a whole HUGE thread that explains why it does not AND IF IT DOES why it does work for you and not others.
Not only that... there are whole trial and error tests with ALL versions of Wireless tether - including all beta versions.

Wanna know why people leave XDA? Because when they post things that definitely DO work for them and others, people immediately jump down their throat and try to make them feel like idiots. I have no idea why 2.0.7 works for me and several friends that own both primes and tbolts but it does. Period.

My man.. your post added nothing. Telling us tether worked for you? I could have told you it would work for you! IF, IF, IF you just did a little research into the other thread... you would understand why it does. But you didn't, you just blindly posted up that it worked.. confusing the issue for people like you that do not research the issue and understand what is going on.
I'm big into making people and the community happy so I'm wondering what you guys would like to see next for the Prime. Keep in mind the restrictions we have right now with the locked bootloader. I have an idea to add init.d support even with the kernel not supporting it, more information to come. But what else would you like to see? Please throw around some (realistic) ideas here and I will add a poll later when I see some ideas flowing. I would love to work on a way to still make ROMs with the bootloader locked. It could be don't with fastboot, but that isn't an option with this device so i need to keep thinking
got a bunch of ideas in this thread here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1388541
I want to see the battery settings issue fixed so we can see 3rd party apps & not just system resources
I want to see the GPS on/off switch put back into quick settings like it was in HC
I really want to see ad hoc network acceptance fixed like we had days ago under HC so we can tether if no native tether app on our phones (wpa_supplicant files?)
Its a small list a nice list & a list crying out to be dealt with
Oops, there was a thread like this already. My fault, please see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1388541
Closing now.

Q&A FAQ
kuzibri said:
FAQ
Q Why a special Q&T Thread for a specific ROM??
A The bigger a ROM development thread gets, the greater the chance that posts are being placed in this thread that are not related to the ROM development itself, e.g. problems with flashing, installation, bugs, things not working etc. However this is understandable, it's not according to the guidelines of XDA for Development sections. Therefore the main goals of the ROM specific Q&T threads is to avoid this cluttering of the original develpment thread with these OT posts by redirecting the posters to the ROM specific Q&T thread and also to relieve the developer from answering these post, so he can dedicate his time to developing.
Q How to move my post to the Q&A/T thread?
A Copy the text of your post in the dev's thread, got to the Q&A/T thread and paste it there. After having done that, go back to the dev's thread, edit your post and change the text into: moved to Q&A/T thread, preferably accompanied with a link to this thread.
Q When I'm asked to move my post to the Q#A/T thread, do I have to do that?
A When you're asked to move your post, there will always be given an explanation by the OP of the Q&A/T, e.g. your post is not development related (f.i. SD card problems, etc), so please be so kind to move your post. If you want to help the dev to keep his original thread as clean as possible from OT posts, then the answer is, of course, YES. Although we cannot force you to move your post, it's highly recommended to do so
Q Where can I download this ROM and How do I install?
A You can find the link to download and installation instructions HERE. Pay close attention to this post, everything required for a successful flash is listed right here. If you fail to follow the instructions or meet the requirements for installation, you could run into some problems.
Q What are the known issues with these ROM's?
A See THE Developer's thread:http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2520978
Q How’s battery life?
A I see this question asked repeatedly across all ROMS. Honestly there is no way to give you an answer based on a ROM. There are too many variables in question and results vary from user to user and device to device. Battery life is going to depend on age and condition of your battery, your use habits with your device, installed apps, tweaks, settings, etc...
Q How do I...
A Ask your questions and report your issues in this thread. You will receive a response and hopefully get you back up and running this ROM to it's fullest

Q&A
kuzibri said:
"Hi dear followers of this ROM,
in this post I will explain the goal of this specific thread created for this ROM with the permission of the Developer of this specific ROM.
This is a statement made in the Q&A/T template thread:
"While our forum has slowly been morphing, the one area we would like to keep original is Development
The goal is to alleviate the OT banter that occurs within any rom. While the XDA forum continues to grow, we need to help users work within the guidelines created by XDA. Over the last couple of years the average rom being created, has become a free for all chat thread. There tends to be much infighting and mod/developer cleaning.
The idea of this template is to create a Questions and Answers for each rom. This is in no way asking for Development to be moved here, rather any and all conversation that is non Development related to your conjoined Q&A."
This means that non-development related posts, should be posted - with the permission of the Dev - in this thread. What are the most common Off Topic posts, that should be posted in this Q&A/T thread?
1. Battery life related posts
2. Will this app work with this ROM
3. SD Card related problems
4. How do I dowmload and install this ROM, etc, etc
Hope to have given you enough information,
kindest regards, Kuzibri

My Bug List
I am posting my bug list in order to help with the ongoing development of PAC ROM 4.3.1 for the HTC Amaze 4G. :fingers-crossed:
I am having issues with WIFI, as it will not recognize my home network. I must mention that the network is hidden, and I must add it manually to the phone. In addition, while using mobile data, I am unable to attain 4G, as 3G is as far as I can get. Also, USB Debug mode is laggy, and battery drains at a ridiculous speed. I have placed my specs below.

reboot into recovery, wipe cache data/factory reset(or format all partitions except sd card in 4ext), flash the ROM again and gapps, wipe cache again, reboot your phone

some info
i have bluetooth a2dp working properly with my computer (win7) using the following program http://www.filedropper.com/btw6209700
and the "car music connector" app from play store.
i know its a common problem for us to use full features and test bluetooth connection with our computers.
i found the link above and it gave my computer full bluetooth capabilities even with my generic USB BT dongle
A couple bugs to report here too
Big thanks for this ROM. I just installed yesterday after getting my Amaze back as my daily phone, so not fully tested, but also pretty much out of the box settings.
Having a couple odd glitches...my stats are below.
T-Mobile US
Unlocked Bootloader
Recovery: 4EXT
ROM: pac_ruby_4.3.1 JLS36I
SuperSU
GAPPS: pa_gapps-full-4.3-20131102-signed

Battery drain is pretty rough, but I'll give it a few days to even out & get my settings in place to minimize.
About half the time I turn phone on & unlock it to the home screen, all my icons are gone....If I go to apptray and then back to home screen they redraw. ... Any idea how/why? THIS is more and more annoying as I use.
My big issue at the moment is that the email app won't open emails...they're they, but when I try to pick one to read it, 100% of the time it crashes. I've tried the force stop / clear cache, etc. to no avail. THOUGHTS? SHould I try booting into recovery, wipe cache & reinstall GAPPS?
EDIT: This has fixed itself with me playing with some settings!
One other odd "bug" I can't seem to fix is the weather app on the homescreen won't display in F ... always in Celcius. Luckily I can do the math pretty quick in head, so not a huge issue, just an annoyance.
I've not messed with tethering or bluetooth yet.
Don't seem to have any data delays & don't have any problems with WiFi either.
Looks good all around. If I can fix the email app issue, I could live with the odd glitch with homescreen icons.
@tbonezx11
1. Battery drain is pretty much normal, you've just installed the ROM, it will take few days to settle up.
2. This is an issue with Trebuchet launcher, I'm trying to find a solution myself, only workaround at the moment is to use another launcher.
3. I have no crashes with Gmail or Y! Mail app, EDIT; didn't see you got it fixed.
4. This is not a bug, Drag and Remove the clock and weather widget. Go to menu > widgets search for cLock and drag it back to home screen, cLock settings will open up select Weather panel and uncheck use Metric and touch right sign up 2x Done, now it will show up as Fahrenheit. Hope you enjoy the ROM thanks to Jose.

That is a clever and relevant question. Ask it at google.com.
just bought the htc amaze 4g used off of ebay. took me a while to understand why standard troubleshooting wasn't applicable to my phone before i realized it came preloaded with this custom rom. now that i get it, i'm really liking the usability and interface, but i am noticing a few things that may or may not be caused by it:
1. terrible battery life. i've seen this mentioned a lot on here - got the battery doctor app which seems to help a lot, and i hear this tends to be a problem for the amaze no matter which operating system is running.
2. the camera/video shutter buttons on the side do not function at all. they're supposed to launch the camera and take the picture, but they do nothing. bummed about this because they were part of what i liked about the phone.
3. can't connect to the mobile hotspot. have to troubleshoot this more extensively, though.
4. poor reception, not getting 4g speeds. they're part of my plan, are offered in my area, and are picked up by other phones in the same location and on the same network. t-mobile couldn't figure out why i wasn't getting them, so not sure if this is the fault of the phone?
otherwise pretty happy with it, so far! hopefully if any of these bugs are the fault of the rom, they can be fixed in the near future.

At this point in time none of the after-market ROMs newer than those based on the last HTC ICS builds are fully functional. All have some type of issues whether they be camera, WiFi tethering, or bluetooth related. Unfortunately, this severely limits your choices if you desire to utilize all of your handset's functions.
If this is what you're looking for, then check out the various ROMs which are based on the stock ICS w/ sense. There are several and all are reliable. Check out the Dev threads and the info in the Amaze Wiki page for more details. Good luck and welcome to the forums.
