Hey I just got my Galaxy Note today. I thought this thing was supposed to have USB host? I just plugged in my USB host adapter that I got with my old Nokia N810 but it doesn't seem to be working.

It does have a USB host built in. I've used it for dslr controller and USB thumb drives. I don't recall needing to change things to get it to work. I did get an OTG cable for it. Not sure if the cable type matters or not.
Anyone? I really hope my Note isn't defective.
Works great for me. I got this cable on ebay for $2.39 shipped (cheapest I could find shipping from US) and it works without having to do anything. I've plugged in flash drives and my logitech vx nano mouse.
Well I've tried every one of these USB Devices that all work on my computer but can't get them to work with my Note

Sorry, I just noticed I forgot the link. Here it is:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/270914513680?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649
I'd say either your cable's not the right kind, or your phone's defective.
Works great on mine.
I just got some cheap one off of Amazon
Works on mine. ATT phone. Cheap cable off eBay or Amazon.
All I've done is read flash drives. Does not work on SD card reader
The trick may be where you look for the files.
Its in mnt /sdcard /usbstorage

UPDATE .. depends what one is attempting.
Does Not work with a keyboard, for me.
It sees the KB but input does nothing.
Bummer.
Which version of the note are you using?
It appears that some carriers have disabled usb host features.
See usbhost.chainfire.eu and look up your phone model.
I was annoyed to see my rogers phone had the feature disabled.

Any work around to this yet?
My note is also from Rogers, and this was one of the features I was looking forward to.
If that is the issue, flashing a Rom may work...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
Maybe you can enable it thru build prop?. Ill look around in that folder for anything related to usb?..hmm
I flashed to the OnlyOne [ICS] ROM and no luck with my phone (Rogers i717r).
Don't know if it's the cable so I've ordered a new one and hoping the actual phone won't need service (though the usb port seems functional in terms of transmitting data and power).
Can it be something other than the ROM and cable (i.e. kernal, drivers, apk -- I'm talking out of my ass here as I have no idea how these things work).
Thanks for your help
Got a new cable and it works with the Only One ICS rom. Another post in the forum suggests all ICS updates should work.

I can use both the apple blutooth keyboard and mouse on my galaxy nexus so it has nothing to do with them not working on "android" but rather not working on whatever drivers / kernel is used with the TFPrime... I wonder if having the ability to install AOSP roms and Kernels when they unlock the bootloader will remedy this situation... so far none of the software mentioned in any thread has assisted me in getting them to work. both pair perfectly fine with the tablet but when it comes to actual use neither the mouse or keyboard input anything.. i really need this to work while i wait for my dock to ship.. and yes it has to be apple keyboard and mouse because that is what i have laying around and dont want to buy new hardware.

I had the same thing happen after the ICS upgrade. This worked for me before the upgrade. I don't know what that means as I haven't had a chance to dig into it.

Model : MB855. Android version : 2.3.4. Kernel : 2.6.32.9. [email protected] #2
Phone is rooted.
Thanks
P.S - i am not talking about a flash drive. I enquire about external usb connected harddrive. Again, thank you.

Laptop or desktop, hook phone up as hard drive to USB, hook flash drive up to another USB port. Click start, then my computer. Drag and drop as you please! I for this on the regular to clean crap up!

Yea, i know that, i'm asking if theres any way possible to access the drive by usb cable between drive and phone, without the computer. It's really not that far fetched, would it be possible to mount the drive with root explorer or something like that?

Short answer, no. We don't have OTG USB support on Photon.

The OP has posted this exact question across multiple sites only minutes apart.
Hi Lokifish,
This time let me answer the question and please correct me if I am wrong.
MoPho has OTG support from the very first Stock ROM (either from US Sprint or JP AU) in order to feature the WebTop Docking (so the docking can "magically" make MoPho support USB Keyboard, Mouse, etc.)
For simplicity, what you need are a Micro-USB OTG cable + a powered USB Hubs (as MoPho have NO power output for signalling the connection to the USB devices).
Hope this can help.

Hi guys !
I have a big problem here please help me ........
I just bought a Fire HDX 8.9" from Amazon.com.
After a couple days, I found there is something in my screen.
It's like couple of super-tiny-red-dash-matrix, you have to watch the screen very carefully to see those things.
They look like the Attachment picture below, and they show more clearly in white background.

They are actually smaller and more blurred than the picture shows. And when I change the angle between the device and my eyes, the matrix will move up-down.
So, when I found this problem, I contacted Amazon and Replaced the device.
BUT, the Second device they sent to me, has the SAME problem:crying:!!!!!!!!!!
This situation very very confuse me. I just wonder is there any fellows have the same problem with me ? And what should I do?
MY device: Fire HDX 8.9, 8.9" HDX Display, Wi-Fi, 64 GB - Includes Special Offers.
(I'm a new international student here, so please forgive me about the bad language.)
Thank you all if there is any help or advises.

Which firmware is on it? Did you rooted kindle, put some other recovery on it, than stock? Using safestrap and running nexus on extra slot?
No? Then that could also means, that there is some faulty batch of Apollos (bad screens or faulty HW) devices in Amazon storages, so you can end with faulty device again ... Or not. What you do, is up to you... :good:

No, I have not done any thing about the kindle. It is definitely the hardware problem.

I brought it when Amazon has the Valentine's Promotion. 64G ROM just need $299, I think it is a great offer. But......:crying:
I will contact Amazon tell them what I have found, and good luck for me........:silly:

Do you have the model number of the modem?
Ive also had this problem in the past with a modem which worked as an Ethernet device under original Klyde rom but then not at all using Malaysk roms
Ive since swapped to another modem.
This was my latest one from ebay which works fine in 3g
"New ZTE K3571Z Internet 3G Broadband USB Modem"
I paid $6.99au
Dam.. I thought questions go into the [email protected] area?..
What has this got to do with any software development?
And did you even bother to search before you brought this ?
Try it before you buy and drop questions into area's that are suppose to be for development..

I'm sorry for I'm new to this forum and this android world, therefore, it is hard for me to get along here.
for your question I did search for it but not found.
also, from all the head unit forums, this seemed the most suitable one because it is a software problem.
I would like to know wether there's a thread for the most suitable forum to write to I could use.
thank you very much for everything

by the way - still after installing the software you advised, the 3g modem was not recognized
The link I posted goes to the discussion on modems that work and those that don't.. Have a look at it and post it here as there are some good minds that have already been through what you are facing.. Good luck getting it going.

I'm having the same issues with a K5150 3G/4G modem. Before it was supported as an ethernet device and now it is not detected anymore. Any fix for this?
Thanks.
my device is in the list. it's from ebay it doesn't have a brand name. just says "HSPDA"
http://www.ebay.com/itm/311267420590?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I have had one of these that worked for my head unit, but it broke so i ordered another one.
the difference between the working one to the other one is the firmware on the 3g device itself. when i insert it to the PC the program of the 3g modem pops on and they dont have the same program.
is there maybe a way to update the firmware of the 3g device?

Yours is the Huawei E1750 as far as I can tell which is what I have and is even advertised and sold by Eonon. Mine doesn't work with stock Eonon or Malaysk. It occasionally shows the signal triangle (empty) but nada.
EDIT: I've now ordered a OTG adapter with the extra USB power input (plus a micro B female to A male as they're meant for phones) and hopefully that'll do the trick. Power seems an issue and with a 1 m cable whatever power it gets is even less. I suspect that's why neither my tablet nor this unit can detect it whereas my laptop uses it just fine.
Hello everyone,

Hi.
I am writing from Tabpro S with Remix OS 3.0.207... No wifi and no sound.
For networking I use a USB-C to USB A adapter to plug the Apple USB Ethernet. Works well
As soon as Remix OS works on TabPro S I will probably spend more time onj it than Windows 10 !
I love it becauase it's light and really fast. And I am a fan of Android.
Voilà !
So the Ethernet cable has to stay plugged in? What about the Bluetooth and audio any work around for that?
