Pausing Music feature on Galaxy Note - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I was watching a video on youtube on some features on the galaxy note. One of the features was being able to pause music by placing a hand over the proximity sensor. I can't get it to work on my Att Galaxy Note. Is this feature only for the International version?

Maybe a motion control option?

Tried it. No luck.

I think some of those hand controls might have been turned off in ours. I also haven't been able to replicate the hand swipe from left to right for the screenshot that they were showing off on the International version.

Sensor music player even changes to next so ng by waving your hand over theb phone ...or shake.....the native software would pause the music when you flip itbover......feature is on settings and motion

Enable motion control and you can silence music (pause?) by flipping the phone over in the Samsung (not Google) music player. It's gyro based, not prox based so brushing your hand over the front won't do it.
@inconceivable, left to right swipe screenshot does work on ours. Swipe different? Use the side of your palm. The only difference is it doesn't open up the editing window like it does with the pen.

Cant get this to work. It is enabled in settings.

My problem is trying to get youtube to NOT pause/stop when I go to the homescreen and other applications. From what I've been told, it's impossible. Is that true?

Use the side of your hand like a karate chop, and then slide it across the screen from edge to edge. I can confirm that it works on the AT&T version.

Ok i guess the US version. Doesn't have the pause music by covering with hand feature. But the motion feature did work when turning the phone over which isnt convenient. The international version has two features that i wanted, video editing and pause music feature. I can confirm the karate chop swipe screen shot worked after a few tries.

I just got my Note Sunday, and the left to right hand sweep works perfectly right out of the box. Hmm now why is it not working for you.

I finally got it to work! Looks like the US Version has the feature. While playing music from your player, have your hand flat down on the screen and it should pause the song until you release it. The motion setting doesn't need to be on for the feature to work.

pausing doesn't work with other players only stock

[Q] problem on the galaxy note

did anyone try to watch videos on your galaxy note?
because when i do the video looks werid(?) (i tried to think of a better way to explain this but english isnt my first lang )
im using the bell version of the galaxy note
Can you be more specific here?
Which app were you watching videos with? Netflix?? Plex? Live TV App?? the Movies app?
And by weird...what do you mean? Aspect ratio issues? Overscan??? Artifacts??
Really need more information if we are to try to help you.
You can Tap the top left button while on the video player to change aspect ratio, that's the only thing I've found to display funny on mine. Also, pressing the power button "locks" certain controls (maybe screen taps) so that tapping that little icon has no effect if the power button has been used to lock. That happens a lot easier than you think as it's incredibly easy to click that little guy...

[Q] "Videos" stock player bug?

Hey guys quick question for you.
I download youtube videos on my computer and load them up on the GNote and watch the clips using the stock player.
Sometimes when I select the next clip I want to watch, it would play a video that I captured using the GNote. Does this happen to anybody else or is it just me? Also, is there are way to default the screen orientation to landscape?
I could use MX Player or Doubletwist, but I like the stock player because you could lock the screen. This function is vital because I hold the phone with my thumb pressing the softkeys on the bottom.
As always, thanks.
What about flipping the phone around so your thumb is resting on the top of the phone, by the carrier logo? Then you don't have to lock anything. The area is just as wide as the area used by the buttons so there is plenty to hold on to. Just keep your thumb to the left of the logo and not to the right so you don't cover up the sensors.

Motion settings?

Hey guys
First time poster, long time reader.
Basically I was wondering if anyone else thought SOME the motion options for the SIII were abit, shall we say, crap?
The double tap for the top of a list doesnt work on anything but stock apps??
The swipe to screenshot is very cool, but often I swipe to a different page before the shot has taken.
Also the waving infront of the screen to silence music is questionable.
The only ones that are decent IMO are the one where where your on a contact and put it to your ear and it calls, thats cool, and the turning the phone over to silence.
Anyone else notice this? Any tips on getting them to work better?
Yeah some seem to be a huge flop, I like the screenshot one and the camera unlock, You could always try recalibrating your G-sensor to make it more accurate. The way I look at it is most of it's really a novelty and is more annoying than good.
Whats the camera unlock one?
Ill give the sensor recalibrate a go, see if it helps
The unlock into camera is rather useful, it works by clicking your power button once on your phone to show you your lock-screen. then you put one finger on the screen and turn the phone from portrait to landscape and the phone unlocks into the camera application. this has its limitations still, for instances you can't make it unlock into a third party camera application and if you have a motion, face, PIN or no lock it will not work.

[Q] Looking for an app that will activate the screen when someone walks in the room

I've been searcing Play Store for an app that use motion detection by the front camera to wake up the screen on my Galaxy Tab 10.1 when someone enters the room, or is walking near the device. The Camera Trigger (Motion detect) app is one that looked promising, but unfortunately there is no trigger for activating the screen. I also looked at Tasker but there is as far as I can see currently no event available to use motion detected by camera to activate the screen.
The reason I would like this is because the Tab is used by my family to display the Google agenda/calendar for all family members and their activities. Instead of having to turn on the device it would be a cool hi-tech feature to automatically turn on the screen when someone walks in the room. I understand that using the camera for such a purpose would make the battery drain quicker, but that's ok as the Tab is alway in it's docking station with a power adapter. Also I'm not using the lock screen/there is no security as this is a Tablet used by the family.
Anyone?
Thx n brgds ToonWolf
I want the exact thing
Hi there,
I just wanted to say that i actually want the exact thing:
An app that turns on the screen, when motion is detected by the front facing camera
and turns it off again, if there hadn't been motion for a couple of seconds...
Have you found a solution / an app that can do that?
or anyone else here ?
I'm surprised / sad that it looks like there isn't an app for that...
Me too.
I am using a Gbox to display my security cams on a tv mounted up in the corner of the kitchen. Right now I have we turn on the TV with a remote when walking into the room, but it would be extremely sexy if it the screen woke when it detected motion and went to sleep after 10 mins or so.

Full Screen Video with Qloud Media Player 4.0.7 with Galaxy S10+

Hi All
This is a very old app. And it works very well still, could someone help me how to make the S10 + full screen.
I have enabled the entire screen in the settings, but cut the surface of the camera hole. This area is cut off in other applications, but it is particularly irritating in a video. The factory player and the youtube work in full screen I think the apk can't do it.
