[Review] Left Handed Leather Portfolio Case - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

I found this case via the International Note and let me say its awesome.
Packaging:
First class along with the case it comes with 2 Solid Screen Protectors (Film Sheet Type) and Leather Cream.
Fit:
Like a Glove everything is accessible.
Bulk:
Well as a portfolio that holds Cash and Credit Cards is almost doubles the thickness. I believe thats all subjective since if you carry this case you are after a function.
Shipping:
I only bring this up since the case comes from Korea it took approximately 1.5 weeks from order to receipt. I also found the order process for GMarket a pain but in the end if you work through the quirkiness its worth it.
Order from
I highly recommend this case if you are seeking to carry the note and surrender your wallet into one.

Holster?

Has anyone found a holster or holster combo for the note i have the white one?
I haven't. I'm waiting for Seidio's release. Just have to settle for something else for now for protection.
I am also waiting for seidio..hope they release a surface/innocase/holster combo like the active case they have on the site.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1497252
Used one of these for the last 4 1/2 years, they build them with gun holster leather and clips. Indestructable.
I'm definitely thinking something else besides a case because when spring time hits and I dont have my coat pockets to carry this in its going to look and feel a little uncomfortable in pants/shorts pockets. But a holster, to me, may not be the safest thing for a device this size besides looking like the biggest geek . I'm thinking something more along the lines of a belt pouch, or man purse or something. Obviously I dont care what I look like carrying this just want to be comfortable and be safe for the device.

Go to www.ebay.com and search for Easecase
Eascase is a company, in China, that makes custom cases for a lot of different phones including the Streak and Note. I have one for my Streak, and a new one is in the mail right now for my Note. These are Custom Made cases! You get to choose the type and color of leather both inside and out as well as the closure type and Belt Clip or Loop !! My Streak case has a clip that while very nice and strong still has a tendency to pop off of my belt at times. I must have dropped the Streak at least 20 times Without ANY Damage!!!! My new case, for my Note, I ordered with a belt LOOP so that it will Never fall off again They have both horizontal and vertical cases; and the prices start at $50 and go up from there. Both my cases were $50. Very worth the price for the Incredible Quality IMHO !
Another place you might investigate is netimes dot com. Since I'm a new member I can't post you links but I ordered the hanging waist case for the note.
And at just over 10 bucks including shipping seems totally worth it. Like a lot of these places, you order from Hong Kong or China and have to wait a long time for them to show up. I ordered last Monday and still waiting for mine but it hit the US on Saturday so I imagine it will show up this week and I can give my full impressions then, but I just couldn't see spending 50+ bucks on something like this so thought I would mention this site which seems to have a bunch of Note related stuff really cheap.
Just an update on my holster. I received mine today from netimes and was very impressed. The leather (probably faux) feels high quality with nice straight stitching and the the belt clip is VERY solid. It is almost too hard to get on and off my belt, but I guess that's a good thing. The Note fits perfectly inside. The only thing I'm disappointed about is that it has magnets inside to keep the flap of it down. I got this one because I didn't think it had any magnets inside it just a big flap to keep the Note safely inside, but unfortunately it does have magnets. I guess time will tell if the Note gets ruined by it or not, but for $10.84 including shipping I'm very impressed. So, only complaints, had to use PayPal, took 10 days to get here, and had has magnents in the case. Your mileage may vary.

Diztronic Flexible TPU Case for Samsung Galaxy Note

Wanted to post a quick review here on this case that I got off Amazon for $10, URL below:
http://www.amazon.com/Diztronic-Fle...17-Packaging/dp/B007BH6X8I/ref=cm_cr-mr-title
Great case, it fits great, all of the ports are wide open and no problems getting the S-Pen, plugging in USB, microphone holes are clear, no problem with the headphone jack. Great case, I wish it had a little more grip on the sides and it'd be 6 stars. The buttons are entirely open, which makes them very easy to push yet would never activate in a pocket. Great case at any price, it's a steal at what it costs.
The back of it is a really soft feeling surface, almost like the 'rubber painted' phones that used to be common, and the sides around the screen are more of a glossy harder finish, but it's all one solid case, not molded etc, just finished differently.
I've used it for 3-4 days and have zero complaints, only wish it was a little more grippy on the sides. The piece of crap BoxWave case I had, the sides were really grippy, but the rest was terrible...
Got this case and its great. Better than the couple of others I tried (both purchased from the Bell store in Canada).

Yep, I wound up with four Note cases over a month period trying some things, and this is the one I use.
Have the AT&T Speck case. TOO SLIPPERY, and impossible to remove. Cheap $2 TPU, worth at least $1.50 . Boxwave Colorsplash, ****ty button actuation.
I too have this case in black (any other colors available?)
Been fantastic.

How long did it take for shipping to Canada? I'm glad I found this thread since all you are having positive experience... I didn't know buying a simple case was this hard.
OK. I'm trying to order this case from Canada. I went through Amazon.com registration but the system says the item can't be shipped to selected destination.
I went to Amazon.ca to search for this case but no success.
Any suggestion how I can get this case? Please help I'm a complete noob with amazon and ebay thingy.
im thinking of getting this case for my phone. anyone have any pics of it on a white note?

Cases

If you have or found a good case, post it here.
I bought the official case from TMO. It's a little pricey but provides excellent protection. As a matter of fact, the faucet in my bathroom leaks and I left my tablet on the counter one night. I woke the next morning and my tablet was sitting in a puddle of water that extended halfway up the case. Took the case off, wiped everything down, and plugged it back in. Worked fine. Even the liquid indicator was still white.

Ditto on the TMO case.. seems $20 too high, but honestly a pretty good hunk of hardware for your tablet. I will have one spare once I have my tablet mounted into my car dash..

Another vote for the TMo case and you are right about the price but you can buy it off Ebay for about $20 less unless you are like me and want it right now.
Can anyone pls post a picture/link to this TMo case?
Would like to know how it looks, whats the price and where to get it.. thanks

The brand is Incipio and I purchased mine from a TMo store for like $50. I had seen the same one on Ebay for half the price but I didn't want to wait. I checked Ebay and the case is no longer listed. I also looked on the Incipio web site and they don't even list it. I don't have a picture but the case is black and the tablet kind of snaps down into the bottom part of the case. You can open the case(it is held closed with an elastic strap) and you have three positions that the tablet can be set into. They range from a fairly good tilt to darn near upright. I have found the case to be quite nice and it really doesn't add much to the overall size. Hope this helps.

Pictures attached.
On the second picture, you can see bubbles in the microfiber. That's the glue separating because I got it wet.
I bought on ebay a smart cover like this from the auction 170821966479. It's thin, good protection and a good stand. I am very happy with it.
The TMO case is so popular in the US, but outside there are two options: universal 7 inch case or a not so bad case designed for the media pad. Search for t-mobile springboard case on ebay.
I bought a cheap-o case off eBay for $16. Listing was questionable as the sellers account was terminated the day after I bought it. I still got the case this morning after 3 weeks though. 2 problems with it. It's a little too thing for the springboard, so the outside edge around the display doesn't quit fold over all the way and sticks up. Secondly, the hole for the front facing camera is slightly off and the camera just barely peeks out from it.
Might not stick with the case though. Without the case I've always been able to stick it in my back pocket (slacks or jeans) and walk around with it to a few places, lunch breaks, dog walks, etc. With the case its a no go.

Yes, I have also found this one on eBay. I have ordered it (the same colour like lilaliend). But it never arrived (I got my money back). Fortunatelly!!
After the first attempt with eBay, I have decided to invest a bit more money and ordered a leather case from PDair:
qqq.pdair.com/index.php/ebook-reader-tablet/huawei/huawei-mediapad/leather-case-for-huawei-mediapad-book-type-black.htmk
(in the URL please replace qqq with www and htmk with html)
You can buy it directly from PDair for $80. This is quite a lot of money. But PDair's reseller for Middle East sells the same case ("book type") for $60:
tbeyond.com/leather-case-for-huawei-mediapad-book-type-black-p-14363.htmk
(in the URL please replace htmk with html)
Free Worldwide Shipping. Even though the reseller is based in United Arab Emirates, the case came from Hong Kong. Delivery to Germany was without any problems.
My experience with the case from PDair: The case is simply excellent. I highly recommend it. It is worth the money:
PROS:
- durable black leather
- magnets! It closes with magnets
- the tablet fits nicely into the case (in contrast to the cheap case from eBay - see post from lilaliend)
- all holes (front and rear cameras, USB and HDMI ports, charger) are precisely where they should be
CONS:
- the case is rather thick. They use multiple layers of leather (you can see it on the pictures on the PDair website). So the tablet is really well protected. But with the case you can not put the tablet into your back pocket...
TMobile Incipio case for Springboard has dropped in price
If you were to shop for it now on the TMobile site the Incipio case is now $29. That's about $15 to maybe $20 cheaper than when I bought it earlier in the year. ARGH!
I do love my case though. The only thing that's bad is when you are in portrait mode and the front cover doesn't sit nicely back when holding it in that position.
Marware Jurni
I wanted a case that had a zippered closure, for added protection. I had this case from when I had purchased the Kindle Fire. But I decided to see if it would fit the Springpad. It does, with a bit of sanding or cutting.
This is an option if you are willing to sand down or cut two nibs from the top two clips. Each clip has two nibs, the one you want to sand down or cut is the one on the right for each clip. I have attached some pictures so you can see the zippered case and the two clips above, and a close up of the cut. Mine is a bit sloppy, but hey, I'm not complaining. See pictures.

Great... I am happy with my incipio but I got this off ebay because it would be nice to prop it in portrait mode. I guess I could report how well it does when it comes.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Brown-Magic...7-SLIM-MediaPad-SPRINGBOARD?item=270998785548
this is my combo "temporary" case and universal stand.
still looking for a folio-type case and I just got news that the local distributor here already has stocks and giving it for free for new buyers of MediaPad. :silly:
I wanted a case that protects the corners, could prop up the MediaPad in landscape and (!) did not cover the front (like some cases that cover the bezel around the display).
Turns out that this case for the Lenovo Ideapad A1 fits just fine. Only the hole for the camera is in the wrong place, but I don't use the Pad's camera anyway. Nice sleek design. Reeks of plastic/glue the first few days, but the smell wears off quickly and then you have a smart-looking case for your MediaPad.
Apparently this case comes with different names around the globe. Have a look at the pictures and see what's available in your country.
Hi
I'm using the EasyAcc Case for nearly a year now.
It fits great, exept the hole for the frontcamera could be a milimeter bigger.
I do not know, in it is available outside Germany.

Ordered Bounce and Ultra-Crystal also. Only brand name case I could get before phone arrives.
Anyone have past experience with Bounce models?
I love the ultra-Crystal and Ultra-oleophobic from Spigen. Have used on all my phones since Captivate.

I also ordered the Bounce case (it shipped today) and the crystal screen protectors. The Bounce case looked to be the best combination of value, looks, light weight, and protection. I'll report back on their performance once I've got everything (The screen protectors are the only item I've gotten so far)
I wonder how the buttons will work. I hope that the "feeling: that you are pressing the button remains..

My wife has a TPU for her HTC one and access to the buttons suck!
the bounce looks like a very light weight skin....no additional protection except the fact that it will help avoid getting your phone dinged!
I'm sure once the phone is officially out we'll be getting better cases...patience is not a virtue
OP, if you're looking at Spigen, I like the looks of this one...

Looks a little more classy than the one you linked (in my opinion)
Bah, they dropped the prices on the neo hybrid by $10. I'd have considered it at that price Oh well, the Bounce looks great. I'll know in a few days for sure
Spigen is really all over the road on their pricing. First the $1 promo on select items, then they jumped to $29.99, then $34.99, now down to $24.99 its fine to lower the price but they better fix the ones they charged and haven't shipped and perhaps fix those that just shipped as well. It would be good for customer relations.

Finally on their FB page they are saying if you want one to let them know. They are gauging interest, that what I read in the thread/poll about that case. Since they cannot commit to one I am looking at this instead http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSF2SSGT3K-DG Sedio Ledger with metal kickstand. Has magnetic closure and big S-View window. The price is right, I just wish they offered some better color options, but I might get the red/grey combo for some flash.

This looks phenomenal. Just wish it was a bit cheaper. For those who have used flip covers in the past how do you feel about them compared to regular cases? I just ordered the neo hybrid as my first note 3 case and currently have a Seidio active on my note 2 which I like(although it's a bit bulky). But I'm thinking about trying the above Seidio Ledger case when it is released. My biggest concern is it becoming a nuisance with the extra flap hanging around, especially when taking pictures or attempting to use with one hand. Thoughts? Experiences?
I had the Slim Armor View on the GS4 and I didn't find it intrusive at all, I simply flipped the cover back and used the phone as if it wasn't there. The Ledge from Seidio looks to be the same. Obviously when using the camera you won't want the cover folded back even if it does line up, the extra plastic in between the image and the lens will likely cause for crappy images.
Still its a small price to pay for full protection and a view window.

Received the Bounce from Spigen the other day and without phone inside it fits my Seidio Active holster from the Note 2 very well. The top half of the holster that the screen faces doesn't appear to be wide enough to protect it edge to edge, but sold my Note 2 on 8/31 so I cannot compare.
Yes, I am one of those that uses a holster. At work only though.
I am 6' 3" and 240lbs so I tell myself it doesn't look as obvious, but my wife and kids say otherwise

Orderd my Layblock Flip Wallet Case. Anyone Else Order One?

My Layblock wallet case should be here any day now. I ordered it almost 2 weeks ago. Anyone else order one? This is the most I've ever paid for a case, but since the phone is so big it will be nice to combine my wallet and phone into 1 item so I no longer have to carry 2 bulky items around in my pants.

I absolutely love the look of this case. I even almost bought one (Camel Brown) during Black Friday because Layblock was offering a 15% discount, but was still somewhat put off by the price. Ultimately, I decided against it when I came across some Chinese S-View knockoff cases. I still continue to check ebay and Zoarah for price drops on the Layblock case. The ebay price is about $10 more than the regular price around Thanksgiving, so I definitely wouldn't buy this case now. Another manufacturer that makes nice cases is Wetherby (Korean). One thing about the Layblock case that I simply couldn't get past is the massive cutout for the camera, and it was like that for all the colors. I just couldn't pay close to $60 for a case and settle for that. The tolerances on the knockoff S-View cases I have are very good.

Lovely wallet. Please share some actual photos when it arrives.
Also, be sure to use a screen protector with that. I can see all those cards scratching against the glass.

Please be sure to use a GLASS screen protector with your case. Especially if you are going to be putting cards in all 3 slots for the case. You will find that over time the cards will start to etch lines into; and create uneven wear on the oleophobic coating an unprotected screen. The standard screen protector (I was using a Zagg Shield on my Note 2 when it happened to me) WILL NOT protect you from this. I think it's the pressure of the cards pressed up against the glass for long periods of time that create this problem.
I loved my wallet case for my Note 2, and paid about $50 for it, until I saw this starting to happen. I have one for my Note 3, the Poetic version. .. It only cost me $13 shipped... but have yet to use it, even though I do have a a glass screen protector. I plan for limited use eitherway, on a night when I'm going out, or want to class up my device a little bit. Even my glass screen protector has an oleophobic coating, and while it is replaceable, I don't want to accelerate the wear and tear on it... that thing was dammed expensive.
