Can anyone get this to work? It has some good features, but my serial does nothing when input, it just stays at "sending". It looks like there is security, messaging, contacts, sim security, erase data, and some more, but I cant get past this first screen!
edit: got it, used my google account to sign in instead and it worked

Well, since ANY wifi-only device MUST be connected to the Internet for any kind of device tracker system to send/receive the requisite data, perform remote actions, etc., I'd say it could locate itself via wifi. It wouldn't be precise, but then again most devices wouldn't be very precise if they're well inside a building. Good luck trying to manage any wifi-only device that's driving down the road, unless the person in possession of it is kind enough to tether it to the their phone.
Didn't even realize Asus provided such a service.. Logged in, it showed me on the map.. Although, not in my building. Apparently I'm just sitting off in the corner of the parking lot..
But the lock, and ring worked. Of course I don't feel the need to do a remote wipe at this time.
wouldn't work for me, got sending
I have registered and also used my gmail account and neither my registration info or gmail is working.
After selecting the agreement, I keep getting page not found. Tried it on laptop and Prime
Any suggestions
Mine sticks at sending as well...
Interesting thing is that there's an about screen in the help files that's taken from a Dev/Review unit. (Or at least a unit produced way earlier than anyone else's, circa October 2011)

It will locate your prime to within a 100 mile radius !
Just tested this and it actually located my prime inside a building with gps off.
I couldn't get this to work, either.

I had already tried this. Several times
I guess one of the many many reported errors, did not indeed err; this time upon login, "TF201" was displayed in the drop-down and my Prime was registered and found. Perplexing lol, at least it's working now.

Got there just fine.
I can access the Dashboard... from there I can locate the phone, make it ring (and presumably lock and wipe the phone; but, didn't really wanna test those features lol)
I cannot access any of the other modules that are described in this YouTube vid at: youtube - watch?v=OXKuloPGFx8 (I can't post links yet...)
I have searched for any details about if/when it will be fully accessible to me; but, really haven't found much...
I do find it odd that it's an option to sync with on our Evo 3D's; but, our access has been limited...
I have the same problem as the OP. I can connect via browser on the phone only. The website doesn't see the phone. I am on hboot 1.30. That may be the issue.

Try syncing HTC Sense and attempt to locate on a 3G connection. I just tried on a wifi connection and it did not locate it.

How are you accessing it and making it ring, locate etc? I can't even do that.
I can log in from the laptop but it is in beta and i cannot get anything to work. Like ring and lock and stuff dont work from computer.

Edit: Ok so it remote locked my phone but on a serious delay, but I guess it works.
Edit 2: and now the website is down for maintenance.
When I first started adding accounts on my phone, I saw HTC Sense as an option. I didn't even know what it was; but, figured what the heck... So I created my account through the option on the phone that came up when I set it up to sync options.
After that, I went to htcsense . com through my browser and was able to log in using the account details I had created through my phone. When I logged in, the only option available was the main one (dashboard). I didn't even know there were other modules until later when I googled it to see what the forward messages feature was all about - lol.
At any rate, that was last night... I just went back now to see if the "maintenance" absolutzero1906 mentioned was over - in hopes that the rest of the features might be available...
NOW it won't locate my device (lol?)
So, I went to the sync options on the phone and tried to change the sync schedule (I had it on "push" initially). Now no matter which sync option I select, I receive the following error: "Dashboard features may not be available with this option."
I had noticed some people mention deleting the account on the phone, then adding it back... So that is what I just did... "Dashboard features..." error is gone now; and, when I went back to the "Dashboard" on the site, to refresh the device location, I now get the following message:
Device location
"Your device is performing it's initial sync with the service. This can sometimes take several hours, depending on how many contacts you have."
.... guess I'll check back in a couple/few hours to see what's up...
For some reason I just signed up, they tried sending me an email to confirm the address. 6hrs later, I have yet to receive anything after multiple "re-rends" tries to my email address.
Well... I guess I'm fully synchronized now...
... but, nothing has changed on the portal. I still only have access to the "Dashboard"... It finds my phone again and I can make it ring from the portal; but, that's about it... all the other modules/options still do not show up... I guess "Beta" may be the operative word - even though it's been released for months... Hopefully it's not something that the provider has to subscribe to or something...

I have been able to log in all the time, but getting the features to work is another story. I have been able to get them to work exactly two times. Once, on the first day I got it on June 22nd on initial setup. The other time was maybe a couple days later. I tried locking the phone via the site but nothing happened. Around 5 or 6 hours later when I got home from work, looked at my phone and it had just locked itself. Nothing since then
EDIT: Just deleted and readded my htcsense account and can now get the ring phone function to work. Location gives an error. Tried locking again and it seems like the request went through. I am guessing my phone will lock itself in a few hours, lol
I use dolphin browser to get on in my phone , and it works , but I had set up since the first port of my og EVO so no problems hhere

Phone ring works every time. It's instant.
Same here, I can login but nothing works.
I'm able to log in, but htcsense.com thinks the device finder on my phone is disabled even though it is not. I logged a ticket with HTC a week or so ago and they replied saying that they've seen an unexpected volume and it is a known issue, etc.
I was able to create an acct, but during the verifiy device stage, it tells me to log in to HTC Sense... wtf? There's no selection for that in "SetUp" Only FB for sense and twitter for sense...

It worked fine for me, however there's a big delay. Just download SeekDroid for 99c. Best app for what you're looking for, EVER. You don't need root. You can wipe (everything, including SD card)/enforce or remove a password/track your phone almost INSTANTLY on Google Maps/alarm, grab a list of recently made, received, or missed calls AND the IMEI/ESN of the phone. Plus there's a mobile interface so you can hop on your buddy's phone if your phone is lost and there's no computer around.
Hi, I'm new here, but I figure my question is as good as any other. I recently became proud owner of the Xperia Neo MT15, which is now rooted and thoroughly protected, but I noticed something about the GPS and Network Location that bothers me - each time I enable either one, it asks me to agree to anonymous data collection.. Well, I don't agree, and I see no reason why I should be denied the features, because of my belief. So my question is this - does anyone know which system apk controls this? I would really like to impose it some restrictions using Pdroid as to stop the data collection. Any input is appreciated, thanks.

Nope. Not the culprit, since I don't even have it. I do however notice a lot of calls for Network Location from com.sonyericsson.learningclient(which sounds logical) and devicemonitor(which sounds just suspicious). They start actively operating as soon as I enable GPS. I've disabled the access to most things for both and set GPS and Network Location data to be served as random. I don't think there are any other moles.
It's weird, because they both sound so harmless, when I look at their descriptions in the list you linked to. Maybe there's something else. I'll see if I can find anything.
Sony has a particular feeling to collect data .
Soon you will discover also that the sony Gps will not works without data at all, because is affected by a bug, and it drops every 5 minutes if you don't have data enabled.

Holy... why did I ever buy a SE in the first place?! I love the brand, and I've loved every phone I've had/used (those include K750, K850, P1i). I'll try to see if I have the 5 min. bug.
EDIT: I'm not sure if i observed the behavior or not. I didn't go anywhere, but stayed on the window with the GPS and nav software on. The software never displayed a loss of connection. I did notice the GPS icon went to it's unfixed state twice for a split second, 5 minutes apart, but I guess I'm supposed to be on the move to notice the issue. All the while learningclient would call for GPS location and be fed random data. The wifi and data connections were both disabled. I'm going for a drive, I'll test and report back.

I don't remember deleting IddAgent. The other two I track using PDroid. I just enable its notifications for everything and I watch what does what. learningagent seems very keen on getting GPS location, while it's on, and device monitor calls network location every once in a while, I see no good reason why.
If you are able to unlock your bootloader, and install a custom kernel like inteks, or nightelf ones (void guarantee), question about collecting data while you enable gps just dissapear. I dont know if there is a easier way.
If I wanted to throw away my warranty, I would have done it the day I bought it. I know a custom Rom would solve the issue, but I don't want to risk it with the warranty, not yet anyway.

Why don't you sign into the google play store, push mobile lookout to your tablet, and see if you can auto track it that way. I'm not sure if you have to setup the app first which would make this procedure pointless, but worth a shot.

You know, thats a very good idea, but i think you need to setup lookout on your prime the first time you install to set up tracking, last time i checked that is, I think that goes for all apps,
I think a developer would make killing if they managed to create an app that can do what you suggested
Edit: Never mind, thanks victorvasconcelos ^^^

You're not getting it back.
Android Lost is another great app for this type of situation. You can push it to your Prime via tha Play store website and then use the Android Lost web interface to hide the app from your Lapp draweraking it harder to notice and uninstall.
Also from the Android Lost web interface you can force the device to take photos using either camera which will then be emailed to an address of your choice. It can also track the device via GPS and you can lock and password protect the device remotely. Of course all of this requires an active data connection, but it is pretty useful.

None of those will work if the person who nabbed it has wiped it or changed the google account on it.
I hope you get it back, but as one that left a palm pilot in a seat from a 13hr flight from Japan, I do not see good luck in your future for this.
Lookout won't work even if you install it through PC. You would still have to once downloaded run it and sign up/activate it all. There's no other way since you didn't prepare your tablet for the worse case scenario. Consider it gone

Lookout has an app called Plan B. Install it from the Play Store from your PC, and it will auto activate when it finally downloads. It will attempt to locate itself and send you the coordinates to your GMail account. Of course Wifi has to be active, and connected to a network, and the precision of the location is dependant on how good your GPS is, or how many WiFi networks it can see.
As for the Asus Device Locator, boot unlocker does not disable this, only a non-Asus Rom will. I am running a rooted .21 stock ROM on my unlocked Prime, and I can locate my device on the Asus site. If you have stock ROM and the device locater will not connect, its possible the WiFi is off and/or the Prime has no data connection to any Wifi network. The nice thing about the locator is that if it is found, you can activate the "ringer", which on the prime just makes it emit a loud sound. Handy if you are in the area of the device. I have not tested remote wipe nor lock device.
maybe a stupid question but.....
I don't think you mentioned this and this may be a stupid question but Have you gone to the airport or airline to see if someone turned it in to lost and found?

Possible, but lets assume that their an android noob for now, what i'd be concerned about is whether they have a charger or not, as you'll probably have to wait until they get round to charging it before you can do something, OP should take that into account if hes not getting a reply
Question, do you have a credit card saved on your playtore or anything, if so did you set up keylock?

Plan B was already linked on 1st page, as for Plan B I have personally tried it after READING it on the 1st page. My Prime is in a office GPS is on connected to our wifi and multiple wifi's around. Plan B installed but no e-mails after 10min so far. I think it relies too much on GPS for location, as it seems to be designed more for phones with cell coverage.
"After you install it, Plan B will start locating your phone using cell towers and GPS. On some phones, Plan B can switch GPS on automatically. Your location will keep updating for 10 minutes."
So you can try Plan B but don;t count on it as I am sitting next to my prime with Plan B on it and I have no idea where it is?
Also as I stated before if the gmail account has been removed or changed, you are not getting any software pushed from the play store onto your tablet.

I disagree, always prepare for the worst.
Forget the account begin removed, Tablet taken stuck in workers locker, driven home then turned on, Chance of an open wifi not good.
Plan B does not seem to work well on prime from my experience so far.
If the person who nabbed it is stupid enough to take it hook it up to their own home wifi and start messing with it before wiping it, they deserve to get caught.
I hope for the best, but I do not see it working out that easy. It would have been easier if it were a phone or if the software was on there from the start.
Good luck and keep us posted.
I would stick with Asus Device Locator as long as you were running a stock ROM. A wipe can't change the serial number. If the unit is off, has Wifi off, or is in an area with no wifi, none of these other apps are going to work anyway.
The sad news is that without Wifi, the Prime could never report is location even if a locator app was on it running.
The good thing about the asus devicetracker is that even if they remove your Google account or factory reset the device you can still track it.

Google Maps has location tracking data under "My Timeline." Historically it has been super accurate, showing the roads I used even when driving long distances. I also always use Google Maps. Ever since I switched to the Mate 10 Pro, this data has been straight lines across 20-40 miles of distance and highly inaccurate arrival times. I thought it was just Google, but I switched back to an Essential Phone and it became perfectly accurate again. I'm back to the Mate 10 Pro and I hope it'll work now, but I'm not holding my breath.
I often use the departure and arrival times in My Timeline for work data, so I'd love if it worked. Any thoughts?

I have not, but I use Google Maps extensively and never had even the smallest problem with accuracy. Always follows the road accurately and instantly recognizes turns (unlike the built in GPS in my Lexus sometimes). The "My Timeline" data is often just a straight line between my house and my destination, even if it's across a bridge.

I checked TimeLine today and since 27/01/2018, journeys are recorded with the correct level of detail again! Google Maps app last updated 04/01/2018 and I'm still on C432. No idea what changed to start TimeLine working again properly but obviously I'm really happy. Can anyone else report that journeys are being correctly recorded again?
Nope no change.
I've got the same issue. I tried all of the tips and tricks I found online to no avail. Mine just says No Visited Places. ONce is awhile it does show a place. It pisses me off tremendously. Google Timeline is a great tool to remember where you've been
If you can't remember where you've been then you have bigger problems than Google Maps not working properly!
Personally, I try to turn everything OFF that records location(s).
