im running a senseless ice cream rom and i wondered if there was a way to boost the overall volumes at all? i tried volume+ and it really didn't help much. the ringtone/notification volumes are too low.

This thread has a link to a cwm flashable package that has Beats Audio libraries. I flashed it on my TouchPad and it sounds a lot better, but I might just be crazy?
Note: I'm using Beats headphones with it, not the speakers.
Double Note: I didn't pay for the headphones, don't worry. Ugh. haha
i think this is a more suitable topic

This is working very well. now my music sounds the same as beats enabled WebOS!
This only for headphones right? Does it have any effect on speakers?

Most of these mods have no way of going back which is why you should always do a nandroid before applying any mods.

I can confirm that this does bring beats back to the touchpad pretty well. I have noticed that on the latest official nightly of cm9 the audio starts to malfunction when the screen turns off. Sounds like an AM radio and real crackly anyone know a fix?

I'd like to know that about the audio too - but as it's unfinished I assumed it was a problem to be expected.
Ok,I finally found two that work.

Doesn't the Touchpad already have Beats Audio built in? The hardware is what's going to make the difference--this is just an equalizer with a bass boost.

Beats Audio isn't indicative of differing hardware. When the libs were extracted from the HTC Rezound, it was discovered that Beats is nothing more than a software EQ, capable of running on any device once the correct files are installed. Flash it and you'll hear a difference.
Cool

Since putting miui on my phone I've noticed when listening to music the sound quality is very poor compared to stock or cm9 .
I've been through the equalizer settings but cannot find anything to make it better.
Anyone noticed this or know of a solution
Cheers

There is some built-in protection for ears and the speakers,so the volume has a limit that cannot be override.
Look in system/lib/soundfx there is libhearingprotection.so maybe if we remove this file the volume will be louder but will not be safe.
I don't have time to test things and I am boring from flashing that's why I'm not active for development.

Yes, search these forums for a 30 step volume mod. Or simply flash Beats Audio which does it for you. If you're on GB, volume+ (APP) also does a great job.

Last i checked it was incompatible with my ROM/ICS not sure which. But perhaps it does, it's just i use it on an Ace i have. :fingers-crossed:
Volume+ did absolutely nothing for me using ICS. Tried and refunded it three times in testing.
I found this which works for increasing your volume..Just install the zip from recovery..this really increases the volume may be to loud for some..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2293133
I had this buried in another thread so I thought I would create its own...It works well, might be too loud, but you be the judge...
I have this installed, I'm so glad I found this tweak! Thanks for sharing \m/

Hey folks!
Here's my issue and I hope you guys are able to help me out. I am currently listening to audiobooks from the Optimus G through the aux port in my car.The volume output level, even set to maximum stun, leaves a lot to be desired. Is there a way I can increase the volume output with something like Beats Audio, Bravia Sound, or is there an app that can be used? I am currently running 4.1, rooted, stock and I am using Google Music. I've tried volume+ from the Play store and it did absolutely nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks guys.

If you do a quick search on xda for ac!d audio or viper 4 android, those two will do wonders. I know there's also a beats audio installer app on google play that'll do the trick too. Pimpmyrom also has options to install audio mods that will help a bunch too.

Yeah haha I understand. First off make sure to make a nandroid of course. I've found that personally I prefer ac!d version 7 the most, but I've used the beats installer plenty of times, as well as the pimpmyrom option. As far as easiness goes, the pimpmyrom route is probably the easiest, but you're pretty safe going on any of the routes.

Rootbox, but I like to switch it up a little too often.
If your on stock Check out my kernel in my SIG. If your on aosp look for my b20 kernel. My kernels has faux sound n faux speaker support. This allows you to tweak your sound profiles with presets or you can go custom to fit your likings.

would acid and faux speaker/faux sound work together with your kernel? or would having all three implemented break something/not make a difference?

Acid edits the libs in your system files where faux speaker/sound just tweak the various volumes, so you can have them all running at the same time. (that's actually the setup I'm using presently)

Finally tried Mystery's kernel and faux sound. So much better. Almost as good as nexus s w/voodoo.
Edit - By the way I'm rooted, unlocked, and stock. Tried acid, beats, and Xloud but Mystery plus Faux was the only thing that made a noticeable difference.
