Text Message Question - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note I717

When I open my list of recent text messages I just notice that there is a small x in the upper corner of a few of my contact conversations. Can anyone tell me what this means. I have deleted the conversation then when I send them another text the x is there again.
Thanks

google talk/google +
I was worried about the x in the message app as well. Then I realized it was displaying google talk availability. Hopefully that helps.

Actually it is for Tango app.

Why the sms page is too small?

Hi guys!
I can't understand why tha space where weiting sms is too small... every time I'm writing a text and I have to read it before sending I have to scroll that f... small 2 lines box.
Is thare a way to write sms in a "page" instead of in a little box?
I've installed handcent and it works fine but with the same problem.
I felt that too initially. However you should realize that messaging is like using chat on android. There is a concept of conversations like a chat client. If you see it that way out starts making sense, the extra space left out in the middle is to watch your conversation chain!

Constantly unread texts

Every time I read someone's text regardless of if i respond or not, when I go back to the inbox it still has the "1" bubble on that thread showing I have one new msg when i don't. Anyone know a fix?

Sometimes this happens when you try to send at the same time a message is being received. That could be your issue.
Yep mine do that too sometimes... If I go back in it normally fixes it. Seems to happen when I go to the text through the notification bar.

Try using Handcent instead. I was having the same problem and decided to use Handcent and turn off the stock messaging app. My experience is that the stock app is glitchy.

Seems to happen if you are using the notification bar or widget. Going directly to the messages does not exhibit the problem... at least for me.
My stock messaging app too seems a bit slow to update the unread count. This applies to the actual messaging app as well as the widget.
i can be in the app, read and reply, back out to the main level that shows all messages, and it will show the message as unread even though i replied to it.
Definately odd. I can get rid of it by going into the message, then scrolling down.
Thanks guys I wasn't sure if it was just my phone or all. Sounds like all. I like the sense 3.0 messaging app enough though to just deal with it, I don't like handcent.

[Q] Group Messaging

HTC One X+ AT&T. I can't find a rhyme/reason on Group messaging. I can send out a group message (and others see it as that) as long as it's media (MMS). If anyone replies as text, it doesn't stay in the group. If I send out a group message that's text only, it's sent at an SMS, which completely defeats the purpose. Here are my questions:
Is there an app to replace the HTC one that resolves this?
Can I install the app from 4.2? (I understand this is resolved in 4.2).
Try GoSMS pro from the app store. Its unbelievable that Google didn't address this earlier but I think its fixed in JB 4.2.

I have GoSMS Pro, and there is an option in settings to enable MMS group messaging. It's not perfect, since my popups still show just the MMS icon, but at least works from within the app.
I use GroupMe for group messing. I also use GoSMS Pro, but you can't send mms messages with it. Have to use stock SMS program for picture messages
Handcent's group messaging works flawlessly.

So I have to choose whether or not I'm sending a SMS or MMS before I send the message? I thought Group Messages were actually MMS messages? Is it possible to load the "fixed" 4.2 app on an unlocked One X+? I mean, this kinda blows. My iPhone and even Lumia 920 did this fine...

Individual message being sent as a group message to multiple people

I have a group messaging thread between 3 people: A, B, and C. Sometimes when I send an individual text message to person A my phone sends it as a group message to A, B, and C. I have no idea why this is happening or how to fix it. This is especially a problem because the 3 people are my girlfriend and my parents...
I'm using the stock messaging app if that helps. Has anybody else experienced this issue?
Are you sure you are sending it to an individual? Also check the settings to see if something is off. I personally don't like the stock app, it feels sluggish and weird.
Make sure you are not replying to the group message. 9 times out of 10 it will only show the person whom you text the most in the send to block. The only way to see everyone in it is the view information about the message by opening the message and taping on the 3 dots in the upper right corner and choose edit recipients.
