[Q] CPU Set on Boot Settings - Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini

Hi, i like overclocking and i would like to know where are these settings saved (like build.prop or i.e INI file just as windows) so that i can modify the ROM i'm using to be pre-OC'd whenever i re-install it.
Thanks in advance

[Request] Reboot Menu in default theme for stock 2.1.1.A.0.6

Hi!
I am trying to put everything I like on a stock 2.1.1.A.0.6 rom.
I done some usual tweaks in Stock rom:
- Rooted
- xRecovery
- JIT
- dualtouch
- undervolted
- hacked market
- removed junk apk
- added my own favorite apk
The only thing I see in other custom ROMs that I would like to have but i dont find, is that Reboot Menu, on Power Menu.
How can that be done?
I searched and found it used in many roms, but I did not found out how to do it.
Tks in advance
EDIT: I have just changed topic name. I would like to know if anyone can send me default framework with reboot options.
Themes and apps section has is in I believe
Sent from my U20i using XDA App
Yes, I use the black htc theme with my mini pro and it has the reboot option.
I did not find the 2.1.a.0.6 default theme with reboot menu.
I could do it myself. I just need to be pointed in the right way
tks for your replies
i would also add speed tweak for sd card
+1 to this. I would also want to know how to do this. I'm guessing it has to do with a modded framework_res.apk?

and what hack is that?
could you link me on the correct topic?
EDIT: What else could I do to my stock ROM? I like to do it myself
And what are the battery improvements that are supposed to be done in custom ROMs?
EDIT2: Found this topic. Looks hard enough!

Thanks! I've been looking for a thread like that! You could go about learning this by comparing the stock ROM framework_res.apk with the custom ROM's. I've been using apk_manager [link] for a while now, and it's actually quite easy to use. Learned a lot in the process also.
I have changed the topic to make this a Request:
Anyone has the framework needed to 2.1.1.A.0.6 with reboot menu?
Tks.

While no one has sent you that, I just remembered, there are a couple of widgets that can do this like SwitchPro Widget (I remember using this on the stock ROM to reboot).

I have SwitchPro installed but It does not have hability to reboot to xrecovery
Oops. My bad. Thought you just wanted reboot and not reboot to xrec.
I might just add that I personally wouldn't really enjoy using a workaround.
What I mean by this is that it would be amazing if the menu opened by the power button would have more options like on custom ROMs, such as
Power Off
Reboot
Reboot to xRecovery
Anyone could do this please. Who usually makes themes to custon roms?

(MOD)CRT Screen Off Animation For SD 2.4(GPU UI)

Here is the Build.prop
I re-edited it to get GPU rendering
Very butter-smooth Animation
Added working Flashable Zip
Use streakmod recovery
Zip has the necessary stuff and new bootanimation
Method
1)install root explorer or similar app (i prefer es file manager)
2)Allow root permissions for the file mnager.
3)mount system s r/w
4)copy and replace the build.prop in /system/
With the attached build.prop
After succesfully passing the 4th step
Reboot your device.
Now see the power of your gpu rendered animation

just modify build.prop in system like this
debug.composition.type=mdp"
to:
"debug.composition.type=gpu"
thn save and exit (root explorer) and restart.
works perfect on my StreakDroid 2.4.3
Thanks!!! works fine on 2.4.3
Please post in Themes and Apps as this is not development.
Thanks to maxicet for the info re: GPU rendering. I believe DJ_Steve will be adding it default to the next build of GB.

Much better way of going about this change. IMO
I'm sure many people make changes to their build.prop, myself included. I wouldn't want to replace my current file and then have to make all those changes again.
Worked for me - I had to change Spare Parts to make the animations "Normal" speed to see the CRT animation. Looks beautiful!

Delete the line for the density setting and reboot. It will go back to stock density. If you really want to maintain the new setting, there is a thread on here about it.

You can go up to 180 with no problems...if you want more I read somewhere on here about flashing a zipfile of phone and contacts.apk or just use alternate. I for one like the go dialer and go contacts.

HTC Explorer root

Hello all,
I am looking forward to root my mobile. But I am not sure which tutorial to follow as their are many.
Also I have few questions :
1. Will any feature wont work if I root my mobile?
2. Are their any harm in overclocking the mobile?
3. Do I need to follow any other tutorial to over clock it or by rooting it will be overclocked?
4. Will the layout be changed or can be chnaged than the default after rooting?
Thank you for reading
Praveer
1. Everything should work if u dont delete its parts
2. I dont see any
3. U need amother app to overclock - eg. No-frills.
4. No. U need to change it on ur own.

Hello,
Thank you for your reply. So can I change the whole layout? What I mean is that if we use go launcher ex then only home screen and menu changes buy if you access sub menu like settings then default layout will be shown. So can it also be changed by rooting?
Also please link to a tut for rooting which is perfectly working and all features working coz I read somewhere that for Explorer WiFi was not working. Also please link to overclocking app tut that is really good.
Thank you
for rooting try - Super One Click
for oc - SetCpu

Yes. U can change everything but u need to find (or make) special, themed .apk for it (eg. Im using modified settings.apk and it looks like ics - on gb - or xperia s home.apk).

Thanks.....How is jaggyjags ROM for overclocking?
Thanks
Custom rom has nothing to overclocking. U need custom kernel. As I see there is custom kernel in jaggyjags ROM <- and this is what let overlclocking. U can use any rom (even stock) but u need to flash custom kernel.
What's the difference between jaggyjags Rom and no frills which you mentioned for overclocking.
Also how do we install custom ROM after rooting our mobile. Please let me know in detail or link me to a tutorial as me doing it for the first time.
Thank you
Rom has nothing to oc, but kernel (which is with this rom i think) can let u overclock, but u cant change it without 3rd party app - eg. No frills (free) or setcpu (paid).
However in this rom u got overclock to 800mhz without using anything.

Thanks....So if I got you correct then for I to install jaggyjags Rom I need no frills?
Thanks a lot for answering my questions patiently.
Praveer
No. No frills is only the example of program which let u overclock. U dont need to install it if u dont want to change oc more than it is.
If u dont need more than 800mhz (imcluded in rom - i dont know if it is possible to increase it on ur phone) u dont need to install any apps like no frills

advantage - no lag, smoothness, apps and games open faster.
disadvantage - battery drains a bit quicker
if ur kernel supports ONDEMAND governor. select it for a balanced performance vs battery

no probes mate. all start as noobs only
and those governors and over clocking are related to kernels..so u need to go thru that thread.

Jaggysrom provides what you need to over-clock with something like No-Frills, No-Frills lets you actually over-clock it.

Be careful when you root, rooting is officially irreversible and can cause problems such as the sd card not being recognized.
Rooting has done so many small problems to my phone, if I had another android phone, I would take advantage of the warranty and not root.
I have followed tutorials for my phone, mostly involving a computer, I can declare that my phone is not an independent device anymore. Be aware of these risks. Without the warranty of android, a phone's lifetime can shorten.
Guys I have sgy but going to get the explorer.
To explain the oc process.
No frills is an app that when you open it, it gives you the choices to set the minimum and maximum speeds in all modes of your device. On sgy the settings would be 832 MHz max and 33? On the low end. With a 400 + setting and 600+ setting. Then a choice of governors which is what limits the performance. Like conservative or performance. You choose. Hope that helps. Btw could it be called an upgrade from sgy to htc explorer? But the real question is, is there a way to install cwm recovery without pc and rooting without pc. Please share links and zips for root unroot and cwm. Thank you.

[Q] ROM toolbox to wt19i(LWW)

Has anyone used this application? any guide on how to use this app? what settings can be changed and what settings can decrease RAM and battery consumption.
Did u meant, Rom Toolbox Pro?
I'd use this app for few month.
And this application is useful for people who want to setting their android's system, like :
Installing ROM (of course you need installed CWM recovery)
Manage and clearing dalvik cache, and other
Installing ad blocker (with Host)
Manage apps (uninstalling, clearing data, disabling apps, removing system apps, etc)
Changing your phone UI fonts
Changing your system statusbar icon (battery, wifi, signal bar, etc)
Control your cpu governor, I/O, clock speed, etc
Controlling memory management
And many more ...
Why you shouldn't trying to install the app in your phone?
And you will know the feature from this app
*Sorry for my bad english
i used it, caused several times bootloop (android 2.3.4 4.0.2.A.0.62)

Yap, but on stock kernel, you can't overclock your cpu device. You only can do underclock your device and changin the cpu governor.

I prefer Rom Toolbox for ease of use. But you can try both them first by download the APKs from apktops.com before you buying the app

Yes you can, if you have root! And if your running stock kernel maybe you should used extended stock kernel (if you have unlocked your bootloader)(or want too), it has OC/UC/UV support as far as I'm aware. If you need a copy of it pm me.
