I am trying to use my Touchpad with CM9 installed to watch movies with Flixster. But when I load the app and try to stream my movies it tells me that it has detected that I have rooted (Dah) and can't stream movies.
How can I fix this to allow me to use this app?
Side question to. Apps in the Market say they will not work with my device even though they will. How do I get the Android Market to allow me to still stall apps that say this?
Thanks
you mean with the google videos app? i dont think flixster plays movies. they do previews.
Try OTARootkeeper. Why the h*** does almost every android video app think that if you root you are trying to pirate content.

Flixster allows you to stream and/or download movies using Ultra Violet. I'm having the same problem and I'm running CM10.

Actually I just downloaded "Hide My Root" from the Play Store, hid SU Binary, & now Flixster is working for me. Success!

I posted that over a year and a half ago. I know that they do that now but I'm pretty sure they didn't do that then.

Turns out my new DNA does not support many apps in the Play Store - Flash, XBox SmartGlass, and Rhapsody being the most disappointing. Rhapsody TS was useless, suggesting that I needed a software update, but of course none are availabe.
Does anyone know if this is a Jelly Bean thing, or something specific to the DNA? Could it be that Jelly Bean doesn't support flash, or the other way around? Wondering if anyone has any info...
Thanks!

AFAIK its because of the 1080p display. Stuff will get updated soon.

Adobe discontinued Flash support as of Jellybean, it's not DNA specific. Try side loading the apk and using with Firefox.
BBC news app is not compatible either...
Curious about CNN which is still MIA for the Nexus 7 (which ticks me off compared to their iPad app).
I was able to get a link from a Rhapsody support rep. It worked great. http://labs.rhapsody.com/android

Yes it does. If you look in your app drawer it even has an app for it. Click on the app and it'll play a video showing you exactly how it works.

That's assuming you already have the phone.... If you don't, the simply answer is yes.
I haven't seen this on this forum yet, so here is my favorite you tube app... Its called rolle tube, is the old version of you tube that doesn't buffer as much as the new app. Plus you can download the videos you watch.

Is there a new version of RolleTUBE to get rid of the error 410? Thanks
I think rolle has rolle'd it's last and nuubmate is always trying to downdate! So annoying!!
I got an email from Samsung saying that Allshare is changing to Samsung Link. They removed it when I started the app and then they sent me to the play store for Link. The store says it isn't compatible with my Note. I have a new DLNA streamer I want to try streaming to my phone. Now I am stuck.

Same here. WTF Samsung?
I found an .apk for it. https://hotfile.com/dl/200142174/392013b/AllSharePlay15.apk.html
But, I haven't had time to try it yet.

Why not use one of many other dlna clients in the market?
Did you go here?
Q: How would I access my content online?
A: Visit link.samsung.com to access your content and register new devices and web storage services

The FAQ on that site says, "Galaxy Note (Firmware update required)". ATT says I am up to date.
I have given up on this and am following the advice from khaytsus and I am looking for other DLNA apps.
It turns out the SiliconDust HDHomerun cable TV DLNA streamer has it's own Android paid app, but I always try free apps first.
Mediahouse and bubble upnp are the two I have used, bubble being the better one I think.
they are all just a browser basically, you need something like MX player installed too.
Hi,
I just thought I'd share my experiences with testing different versions of the YouTube application in hopes to be able to surpass the 720p limitation & reach 1440p. In full disclosure, I'm running the stock rom, rooted, with 2 Xposed modules running: YouTube AdAway & YourTube. I started said journey by uninstalling updates. That led me back to version 5.5 (from version 5.10.3.5). Nothing to see there. So I jumped up to version 5.9.0.10 courtesy of apkmirror.com. No luck with that one. Same result with 5.9.0.12, 5.9.0.13, 5.9.3.8, & 5.9.4.9. I moved on to the 5.10 series. 5.10.1.5 crashed thanks to my Xposed module. Installed 5.10.3.5 through the Play Store for gits & shiggles. Ironically, I could bypass 720p but only to 1080p. Not my goal but PROGRESS! For my Verizon LG G3, that is the highest version in the Play Store. However, apkmirror has version 5.11.4 in tow. That version completely removed the 1440p option for me. But the high still remains 1080p, instead of 720p.
Well, thanks for reading my little experiment.
I noticed this too, how come we can no longer watch 1080p or 1440p video? This worked fine before so do we just need an older youtube apk? Why would they remove this feature?
---------- Post added at 02:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 02:20 PM ----------
Actually just uninstall your Youtube app and reinstall this one: https://www.dropbox.com/s/k1z2y730k9cmqdo/youtube-5.9.0.10.apk?dl=0
Brings it back, I guess they removed it for some reason.
How did you configure YourTube? Thanks in advance

Why on earth would they remove such a feature?

Currently, it's disabled. Usually, I just have my Default Pane set to My Subscriptions. Which should be a stock feature, IMO.
