Hi all,
I've found a reproducible crash with Plex running ICS 9.4.2.15 and the latest version of Plex.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Start watching a movie with Plex
2. Pause it part-way through
3. Either sleep the transformer prime, shut the lid or wait for the screen to turn off
4. Wake the device
5. Resume playback
When I resume it, the audio will continue, but the video will be stuck and the device unresponsive to touch. Eventually it will just reboot.
Can anyone else reproduce this?
same on mine
Hey, I can definitely confirm the crash on my transformer prime. I get another problem sometimes when I pause/stop a video partway through, then try and resume it from that point another time - it loads the same audio correctly, but at about 1fps so it's really jaggy. Crashing problem is the biggest issue by far though. The only "solution" I have found is if the xformer goes into sleep mode while paused, I unlock it, force close plex from the settings, reopen it, and seek back to the same spot (I don't resume because then it does the weird skipping thing). Pretty drastic I know.
I've emailed the developers about it, and they said apparently it's an issue with our devices, not plex. But they asked for a logcat of the crash which I will send soon. Is there anyone else out there with this issue? Plex is so good, please fix it!!!
Can confirm this issue, it also happens to me with youtube videos.

Hi guys.
i've had my prime for awhile now, used it's video recording before, but today it seems to be having some problems.
1. Video Recording in Full HD 1080p for 1 min, once i click on the stop, it hangs there for quite awhile, and ultimately pops up the message box "camera app has hanged" , even if i click wait, the camera seems to hang indefinitely and the only way for me to close it is to force reboot.
2. If i record at 20sec or 40sec, it doesn't have a problem. though it hangs around (i think it's converting the videos)
anyone else have this problem? also anyone knows of any alternative camera app other then the stock one?
Mine did the same thing the other night and I had to force close it. When I tried to relaunch the application it said it could not connect to the camera device. I had to do a full shutdown and reboot. I think there are too many bugs either in the OS, the application or the tablet. If you find a better camera app let me know please.
Glad to hear i'm not the only one
There's a few more things i noticed though. This only happened after the recent update. So i'm guessing it's a software problem.
2nd thing is, i'm wondering if it is necessary to actually do a conversion after the video recording. My HD2 phone can record videos without any hanging after i click on the stop button.
Not much hanging or crashes here but I do experience freezes when zooming while recording video. Wondered if this was app or hardware...
hmm i tried on a friend's Transformer (not prime)
Their video recording is seemless.. the moment i click the stop recording button. the recording stops instantly and no hanging or anything..
i'm wondering if it has anything to do with our multiple updates..
I do remember multiple reports of the Prime's very poor disk performance. It scored very low on multiple benchmarks.
Update on this. i sent my Prime to ASus service center. Reported this pproblem + another dock problem. Will update once i get my prime back
Update on this. I just got my prime back. They did a excellent job. Completely fixed now. Video recording is fluid. Even recording for 20sec / 40 sec / 1 min, it stops immediately. I guess just a re-fresh would have solved the problem but since i had another dock problem which they'll need to fix, they fixed this at the same time.
No other app causes this and it doesn't happen all the time... but occasionally while watching youtube the video will suddenly start replaying the same second or so over and over (stutter) then when I try to go back or exit, the tablet reboots. Anyone else have this problem?
I had this problem but ever since .21 never had it
Still having this problem. Only noticed it with youtube.
I've run into a problem a couple of times with the YouTube app where you play a video and then close/switch to something else and the video keeps playing.
Checked with Advanced Task Killer and killed Youtube and all other apps, but the video sound keeps going.
Turned off the nook using the power button, screen closes but the sound from the video keeps going even when screen is asleep.
I checked services and shutdown all apps, and the sound from the video is still playing.
Its really odd. Only way to get the Nook to stop playing the video sound was to reboot the nook. Any ideas? Using latest cherry picks.
Thanks.
If you used titanium backup to install it, uninstall it. Download from the play store to install. I had the same problem, but this fixed it. Let me know if it worked for you
Sent from my NT running Kuzma's CM10.1
Will try and post back.
I have had this happen as well and it seems to be repeatable. At least for me. If the NT has been freshly booted I don't have any issues. If it has been up and running for several days and a lot of use it seems like a slow memory leak causing things to run slower and slower ultimately resulting in failure to properly close apps.
Sent from my CM 10 SD nook tablet. Thanks devs.
haven't had the issue crop up yet since reinstalling youtube from the store. Will know in a few days as the nook runs for a few more days for memory leak.
I've lately faced a problem that keeps haunting me on a daily basis.
Whenever I startup a Youtube video from the app, or a Twitch stream or even open a video link with MX Player, I hear the audio normally but the picture is freezed or very low fps for the first 4-10 seconds. This literally happens almost every time when I start watching an online video. Usually when I start the video a few times again or skip to like 0:02 it starts normally. Sometimes this happens when I do a longer skip during the video as well.
It's very annoying and it definitely started happening after the OS updates. My OPX has been working brilliantly otherwise for 5 weeks now and the only customised thing in it is the Google Now launcher I've been using since day 2. My mobile internet is a constant 15/5 mbit 3G plan and this happens on a 10/10 mbit WiFi as well.
Anyone else facing similiar problems?
edit: This seems to happen only when YouTube/Twitch starts the video in HD. When I set YT's quality to 480p or lower and start the next video in that quality, the problems seems to go away. Naturally I expect this phone and this 3G internet to start online videos in HD.
make sure you've updated to oxygen os to V 2.1.3 , if you did, make sure the OPX RAM is not fully loaded by closing recent apps, or check the device storage to make sure it's not almost full, if problem still exist try to wipe cache partition through recovery cuz some phones from different careers comes with same problem in playing music or videos but after wiping cache all goes good, if it didn't work with u so it will be strange thing, i have problems with twitch but not the other apps, hope i helped u.
I have been experiencing this weird bug where after a day or two, videos inside apps like prime video, youtube, vanced stop working (tested only these). The video works fine when I open youtube in browser but these app seem like stuck in a loading state. Even funnier thing is that I couldn't record my screen when this happens. The screen recording floating window hangs as well. The only thing that I know fixes this is a restart.
Please help me out guys. If you want then I can record the screen using another device.
Haven't faced anything like this on my nord 2. I advice you to do a factory reset and do check whether you are in the latest build or not.
I am facing similar issue please someone help
