Well, my first drop on my week old phone was apparently enough to "almost" completely kill it.
Anyway, i'm looking for a new glass screen for it. I found some on eBay but they only have the international Galaxy Note glass panel. Does anyone know where i could get the glass for the i717?

No, I prefer to run my phones bare. Never had a drop quite this bad.
It was from a good 3-4 feet right onto its screen
I suggest waiting a bit more. The phone just got launched so there are not many accessories for it now.
Btw it's good to know that the note really has gorilla glass. Your screen would have died completely if it was a traditional LCD.

I totally agree about the gorilla glass. However I feel that the size of the note leads to more flex in its chassis.
The glass is only 15 bucks for the international note, hopefully they get one for ours.
Sorry to hear about your disaster . Hope a screen shows up soon.

Makes me glad I ordered a case even more now.

I wish that was a wallpaper with dark marks making it look like broken glass, but alas it's not... It's real sad, but that could easily been prevented by putting a case. But i don't blame you at the same time because it his a lot more nicer without a case...

If you living in UK, will cost you 80£
Woah. That doesn't look like screen protector scratches!!?!
That looks like you've cracked the glass. I should know what it looks like because i've done it to my GS2 before :\

Agree, especially because of the shape of the "scratch" to the lower left of the home button. That's a crack.
Indeed.
And it cost me $220 (Australian Dollars) to get my screen replaces. Huge hit to the pocket.
That looks like a crack and not a scratch! Did you drop it or what? Usually it costs much money to replace the screen.

After looking at the pic on my pc and not my phone, I'll state categorically that there is no way on this planet that that's not a crack.
To me it looks like an ice skating rink!

I found few cheap glass for sgs2. Will that be usefull?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Ouch! That is one big crack! Considering how tuff Gorilla Glass is, that was one huge impact.
there are tutorials on Youtube, and even here on XDA that will teach you how to replace the glass on your phone, but unless you have all the tools, I think you should consider sending your phone to an authorized service center.
Apart from otterbox defender whats the best TOP NOTCH QUALITY case you can possibly get for the s4 in design and not so thick ?? Otterbox is thick and not very fancy :/
Your thoughts???

I got the trident aegis series case and its pretty awesome. Not too bulky and feels really nice in your hand. Definitely high quality and really sturdy. It even comes with a screen protector.

I'm personally going for the SView case. It doesn't offer any other protection besides covering the screen since it's a flip cover. I'm usually good with my devices so I don't see it being a issue.
One thing that has sold me on it is the ability to check notifications while the cover is closed. If anyone hasn't seen this case I'd definitely recommend it if your careful with your devices.

Yeah they haven't been the greatest but it's worth a try for me. If I dislike it I'll probably end up getting a Otterbox commuter case.

I know that swappa.com is used to sell phones, but I see I am not able to list phones that have a cracked screen.
Wanted to put it on XDA first, to see if anyone is interested for the phone with original box, 2 OEM Chargers and a diztronic matte black TPU case for $215 buyer pays whatever shipping they want. If not I will end up putting it on ebay.
This phone is unlocked, rooted, and S-OFF'd and currently running CM 10.1 23May2013 build.
See pictures. (NOTE: in one of the bootloader pictures I circled in blue where there is another crack, but not showing up)
Phone is still fully functional with the cracked screen.
If you have any questions please let me know/PM me.

I hear ya on that one. I have had numerous phones before and never cracked the screen. Since I had the DNA I have done it multiple times!
Just bought this case for the Note Pro, I really like it. It may be on a sale now but it was just $13 which seems like a really good deal.
The case is faux leather with micro-suede interior. The pockets on the inside are mainly useless but otherwise I really like the case. Images are below.

When folded it makes a great stand and it stays put while typing.

I'm waiting for mine to come in it cost me about the same with shipping.
I feel like I literally have the exact same case, except it's made by Aerb:

I paid 5.88 for it, although it is up to 8.99 now. And I'm loving it. I mean seriously. Look at the pictures. They are identical...
Just order it yesterday. Thanks for the feedback. I just got it for the cheap price and I am trying to save to get the logitech pro case because this beast needs a keyboard

Does the case provide enough support to stand the tablet up in portrait mode?

If on a flat surface, if you have it in the folded position, it is front heavy and does not work. You can open the case and sit it vertically like the attached photo.

The problem with these cases is that they feel really, really cheap. That mars the experience of having a nice tablet.
I just changed my Black 32gb to white. Much easier than I thought! I guess I'm on the only one with a white 32gb ?.
I ordered all the parts on eBay. Rear housing, white fingerprint scanner, and white SIM tray.

Nice! 6P got awful repairablilty scores but it's really not bad at all. I think most people are just scared to heat it up enough to soften the glue and they wind up shattering the camera glass prying on it. I changed mine from aluminum to black. I left the aluminum fingerprint sensor though. Edit- Looks like we use the same cheapo Stanley heat gun too.

Lol yup, I think we do. I was nervous too due to the repair scores. I watched a few videos and it seemed pretty easy. Changing the fingerprint scanner was super easy to. It did help I had a screen separator tool too. I'm really happy with the white!

nicely done, one day i will get a replacement so i can keep for any repairs after my nexus protect expires.
I picked up the graphite because I didn't want to spring for the 64gb to get white.. I'm happy with it.. But that is one creative way to get white on a 32gb, well done!!
