First time doing anything with my EVO 3D and I think I bricked it. I unlocked it using the HTC method, I have hboot 1.50 so I'm S-ON, and I flashed Cyanogenmod 9. I wanted to go back to stock, but something happened and now it's just stuck on Cyanogen and I can't get it to connect to mobile network at all.
Did I brick it? Can I fix it? Obviously I shouldn't have been screwing around with my only phone, but I thought I could do this.
Did you back up your stock rom? Any more details ?....

Nope...didn't back it up for some reason before I went to Cyanogenmod 9. I don't know, think I was just going to fast and screwed up.
But, I just put a new PG86IMG.zip in my root, cleared everything, and put CleanROM 1.1 Reborn on. I now have mobile network service. I think I'm good? I'd still like to get a stock rom that I can flash, save as backup, and try Cyanogen again.
I'm just new to this. I can build a computer, but flashing this phone seems too complicated for some reason.

You didn't brick do you have a recovery? Which one always wipe before you flash.

You can use a ruu to get your phone as factory phone. And then install roms

So I flashed one of those no sound AOSP roms, I instantly nandroided back to my Synergy #318. When I did it told me "System not responding" "Force Close" I figured bad nandroid. Super wipe and reflashed 318, I went through set up and then I get no 3G no Phone, here is a screeny of my about phone.
Do I reflash the radio???
EDIT...re-flashed radio and still get the same sh#t
I have a backup of my WiMax in clockwork form, flashed over to clockwork recovery, creating a backup to replace current WiMax with the one I have saved (Original).
EDIT...That broke the MD5 and would not allow a restore of WiMax
Trying a RUU now
Looks like the RUU made me a shiny new BRICK!!!
Bootloader is stuck here, its been like this for over 8 minutes.
WTF is really going on here
I followed this return to stock thread HERE
Well after 15 minutes I said F it and pulled the battery. Apparently it didnt do anything as far as the RUU goes because it booted back into my ROM. It stills says "Process System is not responding" Force Close or Wait.
I flashed synergy once and I had the Samething your showing... Everyother ROM I flashed all the info would show up. Sometimes on synergy it was just blank. So are you able to flash any roms?

Yes, it happens with all roms though. It never gives me signal, phone signal or 3G/1X signal. It says looking for service, but service never comes.
I installed aosp again, it offers better info in about phone. this is what I see, not looking good for the home team
In the aosp rom I flashed I found a update-binary, I will upload below. This is what F'ed me up! Can someone tell me how to open this, so I can correct what is wrong and re-flash? I ran aosp through rom kitchen and mustve hit convert to update-binary. Now I am F'ed!
I know you can't connect to data but Can you connect to wifi? Are you on 2.3.3 or 2.3.4? Hausx (sure I didn't spell it right) posted in CDMA the individual components..... Try flashing each one and see if that helps and maybe try going to 2.3.4 if not there. I'd stay away from hboot 1.5 or you will have to do htcs method to unlock which I'm thinking should definitely work.

I can connect to WiFi, I also tried the radio already. I also tried 2.3.4 and 2.3.3 this sucks ares!
EDIT...I found the thread, gonna try flashing them now! What about the factory reset within the rom, using dialer ##778# I think? Would that maybe help, get the hands free activation going maybe? Thing is if you look at that picture it is not even reading PRL
New radio/PRI did not help, what could keep phone from reading this info off of it? I just did a reset from within rom, that didnt help either.
OPST does not read my phone anymore either
OK, I tried RUU again and it went through! I had 2 things labeled TP and it bypassed the first one, and updated the second. I am rebooting now so we will see if I get signal back. If not at least I am at stock for warranty!
And NO GO! Same Process System is Not Responding! If I wait the phone reboots. What the hell can be happening here?
Now I did a factory reset and the phone boots, then re-boots during the set up process.
Sort of sounding like you may need to give Sprint a call and see if they can have you manually re program it over the phone or something. I'm not sure how you'd go about un-doing whatever it is that you updated that caused this. It sounds like something you'd need to mess with using EPST ## codes.
Did you just try the radio and PRI and not the full RUU? if the forced factory data reset through ## doesn't work and the radio didn't..... I'm wondering if trying to root it via htc website wouldn't fix it. Very wierd situation you have here

Tell me about it! I got a replacement coming. I tried all I could, somewhere I F'ed something up with the partitions is my guess. Something in the Update-Binary changed a location of partition, or the size. For now I got my back up Optimus S online, really missing my 3D already! lol
anyone have any DEV stuff they need a tester on that may brick, hit me up.
i know there are many tpics similar but i cant find a straight answer or working link..
basically i flashed a rom and this rom ws working fine until it started to reboot everytime i chargd the phone then it would boot loop for like 30min and finaly go in to the rom.. ive tried to access the recovery to switch roms but it just bootloops.. onlything i can go is to bootloader.. i was looking for a stock rooted
P0g5?? file to flash in bootloader but all i can find is mr2 and its in multiupload which is not working for me.. can anyone please give me a working link or answer... and the last option i would hate to do is completely restore to stock and root allover again.. i want to restore to stock rooted/s-off.. not stock rooted/s-on.. please help anyone....

I had an issue kinda similar like this and ended up having to flash the RUU through the bootloader. It is the stock firmware 605.19, and I had to reroot. It's a pain I know but it works

I to had to this at one point and it does work. I would first try to flash cwm in fastboot though. Sometimes that works.

My friend's phone tried to pull an OTA while he had CWM recovery installed, and it started boot looping. Had to download the stock recovery, name is PG05IMG.zip in the root of the SDCard, and force the phone to boot to the bootloader and install it. Once it did, the phone started up, rebooted itself, and installed the OTA fine. Sounds like yours may be trying to do something similar?
If so rooted phones need caches cleared for the ota to work.
Sent from my ADR6400L using Tapatalk 2
From my understanding, Rooted can still take OTA, but you have to have stock recovery to do it (as I witnessed earlier). You will lose root, and will have to re-flash recovery to TWRP, CWMR, or whatever your normal choice is, and then re-apply the su.zip, but otherwise easy as pie.

Hello, first of all I would like to thank everyone who has posted in this thread to try and help out. I just started having a very similar problem- I'm rooted and running stock, but apparently my phone accepted an OTA and I'm stuck in a bootloop as well.
I got into CWM recovery and downloaded the stock recovery PG05IMG.zip, but it won't install. It just aborts every time I try to install it. I'm a noob at this stuff and not very good at dealing with these sorts of things and I've been having a panic attack for the past hour, so if anyone could help me as soon as possible I would really appreciate it.
I'm really scared of making things worse than they already are. I just want a working phone.

pull battery, wait a minute, turn on phone
when in bootloader screen,
volume down, select reboot
back to white screen, select recovery ( i had to do this twice)
hold volume up and power when black screen appears
choose the bottom option (wipe cache i believe)
choose reboot
phone should be good aftter this
( idont own a thunderbolt, but i had to fix this for a nother phone, called tech support and this worked)
hope this helps - hopefully saves someone from ruu'ing and wiping their phone
Thank you for posting the file, life got in the way yesterday. Hope that fixes your situation!

The zip won't work in CWM because it's not designed for use with CWM. It's designed for use in Fastboot. Should be on the root of your sd card. From off, if I'm correct (like this with other HTC devices), hold volume down and power to boot into fastboot. This will allow it to flash the stock recovery.

Right. I also have a recovery zip that installs the stock recovery if anyone wants it?
It can be found here: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/61129367/OTARestoreAndRecovery.zip
(warning: I have tested it and it works but it did cause me a bootloop, and im assuming this is becuase im on a different rom - - - so not responsible for any damages)

I flashed midnight ROM. put the AOSP theme over it. Flashed the newest MAC Kernel, and that's when it started happening.
I decided to factory reset and flash the ROM again, tried to restart. same thing.
restored a backup (after factory restting), no dice.
Wiped boot/data/system, factory resetted, wiped both caches and reflashed midnight ROM. Still nothing.
Tried to flash CM9 (after factory resetting and stuff) and it still won't go past the HTC screen no matter how long I wait.
What's wrong? Am I half bricked?
I'm using the Evo V with S OFF on downgraded HBOOT.
You need to downgrade your radios as well to flash aosp roms. Run an older RUU, which will set you back to stock, flash your recovery and then flash midnight again

Gotta go in the opposite direction with radios, downgrade. It'll make older roms compatible again.

So basically, upgrade my HBOOT (since stock is on a upgraded one) again and flash a stock ROM then downgrade again?
I was thinking of doing this, but why did this problem come up in the first place?
I can't do it because I don't have an extra SD card around. If I put the hboot upgrade on my SD card, the bootloader won't start up because it gives you the option to install it or not install and either way, it turns the phone off.
Got it figured out. When I flashed a different kernel, it broke the other kernel or something. I had to flash the ROM's kernel separately. I don't know why.
I'm not sure why, but it did. Anyways, it seems to be working now!

Glad that you got a solution and that you were also detailed in your response. Perhaps someone in the future that sets aside the time to research and read will be able to either get themselves out of a mess - or - possible avoid one. Cheers!
Ok, I thought I knew what I was doing. Unfortunately, wine had a factor in my issue... I have a rooted Evo 4g LTE. S-on Hboot 1.15. I was using Clockwork Recovery. I probably should have been using TWRP, from what I've read. When I first got the phone, I was over zealous, and flashed a Mod before saving a recovery. I hated it. So I flashed back to Stock ROM (jewel 1.22.651.3). I wanted to try out a Jelly Bean ROM so I flashed codefireX CM10. It worked but when the phone loaded it kept saying "phone error" and wouldn't let me click okay. So I rebooted into recovery and flashed my previous rom. I was a little tipsy, so I tried it again... It still didnt work... Rebooted into revovery, and this time I cleared cache, cleared davaik cache, and did a factory reset... Then, It wouldn't recover my saved rom. I must have cleared everything again, that I remember, now it won't load into Clockwork. I've tried everything I can think. I tried RUU, No luck. I tried flashing through Fastboot, No luck. Tried Well, I really have researched everything I could think about Boot loops... I'm stuck .... Everything I try seems to have a step missing or issue with my phone because its S-on and I relocked it through abd because RUU needs to be lock on.. I read I may have to flash a new kernel. I'm in over my head. I had to revert to using my Palm Pre. (which I loved for many years, But I really miss my EVO!) PLEASE HELP. :crying:
Check out om4's guide in general, it will tell u all you need to know...good luck.

Your issue is that you need a different kernel for CM10, and it needs to pushed in before you flash the ROM(because you're S-on and hboot 1.15).

Im now using TWRP. Everythings working again. Thank you.
Hello,
I am fairly noobish when it comes to phones but I have had a rooted OG EVO and now i have had a rooted EVO LTE. When i first rooted my LTE i flashed the meanbean rom and then a few months after that i decided to try out other roms suchs as CM10, Paranoid, and maybe a few others that didn't last too long. I just tried to go back to meanbean and it loaded about 75% and was just stuck. I let it sit there for about 45 minutes and nothing ever happened. I forced a restart and restored to a previous backup. When my phone booted up I noticed that it was acting funny and I later found out that some how my internal storage device was messed up. I eventually mounted my phone to my computer in TWRP and reformated so it now works as it should. I went to try and flash meanbean and it again freezes at the same spot. When i try to flash another ROM my phone beings to flash it and then it will randomly restart back into recovery. I have no idea why it is doing this. I tried to run my phone's RUU but my computer wont find my phone connected to it. When i try to use HTC Sync it also will not find my phone.
Sorry for the wall of text but at this point I am wanting to just start over completely fresh bc i feel that all of this flashing, restoring, and reformatting has really messed up my phone. Currently my phone has issues with it's calls. I sound as though i am very far away and I have never had this problem before so i am not sure where that issue is coming from.
If anyone has any kind of advice on what I should do please please help me! I can post any kind of information or clarification that is needed.
Thanks a ton in advanced!

I am not. When i try to flash the newest version from bootloader it says, "Current version is newer" (or something similar to that) and then it will just boot loop in bootloader until i delete the zip from the sdcard.
