[Q] Phone communications monitor - Android Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey all. I really hope this is the correct forum.
I am doing some research at the moment for University and what I am trying to do is to monitor / log all communications over an android device.
For example, I want to get the following data.
User X wants to communicate with one of their contacts, User Y.
How may phone calls, voIP calls, text messages, emails, facebook messages, whatsapp messages etc does User X send to User Y.
The call logs, sms, emails etc are not an issue but I've ran into a wall trying to figure out how to find out this same data from applications such as Whatsapp and Viber. Whatsapp is an application which uses the phones data connection to send messages and Viber is a voIP app.
I don't need any data from the phone call or message itself. I just need to record the frequency of calls and messages to particular users.
Would anyone have any advice regarding this, it would be very much appreciated.
edit: Oh and I am looking to code this. I am not looking for an already created app.

[Q] grouping contacts for group messaging?

So I have a bunch of friends with iPhones, and they threw me into a group chat (not that it matters but we're organizing a martini night). As you guys probably know as android users, this presents a problem as the group messages are received as individual texts, normally with a <no subject> header, and as a result, you can't reply to the chat, but have to respond to each member individually (or send a mass text each time).
I'm wondering if there's simply a way to group (on my end only) those contacts together, so that any message I receive from them shows up as a group chat, which I can then reply to all. I would still get the <no subject> headers, but at least this way the messages could be organized and I could read the conversation without having to look at each contact separately and compare the message with the timestamp from when it was sent.
The apps I've seen (like POWOW) can create chat groups, but it requires that my friends join the chat, or reply to some strange number each time, and it's really just an unnecessary hassle for them. I don't want that.
Anyone know of an app, or a way of grouping contacts together like this?
I'm on CM7 using the "Messaging" app.
Handcent has this feature. Free @ play store.

Problem with group SMS with other people who have iPhones?

My girlfriend has a Verizon Samsung Galaxy S III and her of friends have iPhones. They are all in a group chat together and the problem is, when my girlfriend receives messages as part of the group chat, she has to actually download them as if they were picture messages. That obviously uses up a lot of data and it gets very frustrating after a while. So how can she get her phone to receive messages normally just like every other recipient in the group chat does, so that she doesn't have to download all of them which not only is very tedious, but highly data-consuming.
Group messages are always sent via MMS - they're the same type of message as picture messages. They shouldn't use very much of anything if your carrier even counts MMS as data (I'm honestly not sure if they typically do or not), though, seeing as they're just text. Unfortunately, as far as I'm aware, it's possible the only work-around would be to automatically retrieve MMS (in the settings for the stock Messaging app) or find another application in the Play Store.

[Q] Group txt messages with Google Voice - capable yet?

Hi Folks,
I heard that Hangouts can handle both group chats and Google Voice, as well as natively working with the Google Voice manner of MMS receipts, but when I tried testing with it, the chats only showed up in the Hangout app on other Android phones, which was foreign to the other phone owners (i.e., their default is the Google Messaging app).
Group chats are increasingly being used by other school parents among my kids' friends, which has been causing all sorts of communications problems because I can only see the original sender of a group chat in the default Google Voice app for txt messages.
Does anyone know if I can use my Google Voice number for sending/receiving group chats that show all participants, and if so, if I can send messages back to the group in a manner that won't trigger their Hangouts app if they don't have that set as default for messages?

[Q] Intercept outgoing sms

Is there any possible way to intercept outgoing sms sent from any app on an android device. Let me explain where I need it.
There are some apps when installed for first time, they send sms from the device in background to verify the mobile number. This sms is not stored in normal sms apps. Is there any way to store that text sent? If there is any software existing, can you point out that so that I can check it out once?
Thanks. This is my first post here. Looking forward for your help.

Restricting Apps And Only Allowing Calls And Texts From Certain Numbers

Hi all, nephew has been busted using his phone in inappropriate ways. Accessing websites he shouldn't and talking about disturbing things with girls from school (he is way too young).
The phone is a Samsung Galaxy S7.
He has had his phone removed however he uses it to converse with his family and also for me to help him study over the phone (so he can send photos of his work and I can give feedback and help).
What I am after (if it exists) is an app that will allow me to remove the play store, internet browser and chrome apps from his phone. All games, Facebook and Messenger I will be uninstalling also.
I am also after (if it exists) an app that will reject calls and messages from any numbers except for white-listed numbers and will only allow outgoing messages or calls to those numbers.
If anybody could give me some help or suggestions I would really appreciate it.
Thanks in Advance.
