There is a new Commercial I saw just today. I was wondering if anyone can name the app where two (people with the samsung galaxy) notes are drawing on the same picture at the same time. The picture with the goldfish. Also which app was the one used to annotate a document? Either way, WONDERFUL Commercial!
I can't post video links yet, but it's called 'Samsung Galaxy Note - Meet the Note'
Yes saw it about time they show the feature set of the note.

Could it be one of those apps in this website?

ah... it displays customerized news feed including updates from one's Facebook twitter etc in a very user-friendly 'magzine' way.

I would highly recommend pulse. I use that app more than anything else and on the tablet the split screen is really nice.

Try the following:
Feedly
Newsr
News360 (still in Beta but quickly getting better)
Pulse
My favorites are Feedly and Newsr currently. Several more are in beta stages.

thanks for these suggestions. i tried news 360. its user interface is nice .... and reminds me of flipboard somehow. before any updates from above apps mentioned , ifeel news 360 acts more reasonable for 10.1.

I love pulse. A preinstalled app that doesn't suck is great.
Pulse is okay, I hope flipboard comes to android.
It would be nice but I recently took a survey with News360 and they're currently working on Twitter/Facebook integration. It could possibly help me forget about Flipboard.
Man...if only I could code, I would have started working on an app just like Flipboard called Scrapbook. LoL. I wouldn't be surprised to see Flipboard appear on Android sometime after Christmas. I still wonder if Apple doesn't pay some of these developers not to work on both.
It seems silly as anybody who can program, can just take your idea, change it a bit and put in on another marketplace.
with that being said , flipboard to me ,also is far more better in providing iformation than any apps i tried on android os.
just by searching word 'cancer' , in these apps vs flipboard , one can clearly see the difference ....
hope flipboard coming to android soon ...

Another thing is that they need to make the content more customizable and give more consideration to the individual preference.

That is true.
Apart from the tremendous claim for their attractive layout, this is a real problem.
There is not enough personal customization of content, and most often, the status updates chronologically.
Ive never had the chance to play with it but having seen reviews, I would really like to use planetary on android.
I would pay 4.99 on the market for that
What do you mean there is no Flipboard-like app? Theres Google Currents which is superior
I was currently searching for planetary. Only thing i found , was this thread.
Can someone port it for android? Or am i asking something incredible?
I have flipboard installed on my tab. In the play store says isn't compatible but you can instal it if you download the apk from other source. Once installed the app says in the first time open that is not made for this screen size but works perfectly!

What apps are you going to get? I don't mean just general apps, i mean ones made for use with the S Pen.
Post your ideas below!
Here are some apps and soon to come apps for the S-Pen. Might be worth a bookmark.
http://www.samsung.com/global/microsite/galaxynote/note/applications.html?type=find
Samsung also has an app on the Gnote which will take you to a web site where you can download some Samsung apps for the S pen. I recall one being a crayon game app for kids etc. Also EZ pdf which allows you to use the S pen to fill out or sign pdf forms etc.
Edit: I did not click the link above from droidal. Those look to be the Samsung apps.

I really hope that they release iAnnotate soon.
Sent from my SGH-I897 using Tapatalk
iAnnotate would be good. I'd love to see a version of Polaris office like we had on the HTC Flyer that integrates with the Stylus as well so we could mark-up Word and PPTs as well as PDFs.
Also, after reading the CNET review, it looks like we may not be getting S-Planner initially so I'm hoping they have it in the Samsung app store for an optional download (or someone can make the APK work from the international version work with the AT&T version).
From all the reviews I have seen it seems Samsung/AT&T didnt include Video Maker, like they did on the international version.
I want to see if I can track that down right away. He is a video of what you can do with it.

Hey guys I am looking for more apps that are not available on the app store aka crayon physics, Snes9 EX. Apps that have to be sideloaded by apps like easy installer. Thank you for the info!
there is already a thread with crayon pyshics that you can get it from. it is about 5 threads down from this one. and if you google Snes9 EX the first result that pops up has a download.

Sorry I ment to say other than those apps.
What apps are you looking for?
looking for apps....
that at&t greedily hid from us like the s-pen video/photo editing app shown in the s pen user guide you can download from the market/play store....i have been searching for a while. for some reason my note has a hard time with the "search" here at xda forums. i know, i should use the xda forum app....
The photo editing app does come with stock. Access it through gallery. Select picture then menu/more/edit
photo/video editing app
Thanks but the app i meant is the one that is mentioned in the s pen guide - the official samsung guide that you can get in the app store. It has instructional videos for the s pen and one of them shows a great video editing app...that is the one i mean. Apparently at&t has left it out of their ics upgrade. I have used the photo editing app in the gallery and it is nothing to get excited about. There is nothing there to edit videos as far as i can see...
I read there are more things for the note at the Samsung app store.
The video editing app is mentioned on this forum.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29285530
i ported the video editor from the international note to my at&t note and i love it
Google gnote for i717 its work great as s-pen replacement...

Just found out about hovernote. As a student who spends many hours researching I always dreamed of having a multi screen like the note 10.1 , unfortunately I bought the p7500 before the note came out.
Spent a few weeks trying to research onskreen cornerstone but that didn't go very far
Then I found out about floating apps. Apps that float on any screen and make multitasking so much easier
You can find it in the play store
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
This isn't the same kind of multi-tasking that is available on the Galaxy Note.
I thinks is better. With standout being an open source now there are many opportunities. Floating apps will take Android to the next level. There is floating videos, floating Facebook and l bet more will come. The developer who created software got hired by google recently so expect true multitasking abilities out soon .
Sent from my GT-P7500 using xda app-developers app
There's actually quite a few good floating apps available
You should have a look at aircalc, darkcalc, performance monitoring (by chainfire) and popup browser. Floating notes is also great
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA Premium HD app
I use both hovenote & aircalc. They make working so much easier. Only thing I am still looking for is a floating calendar (like stock Samsung).

Only works on stock ROM
Thanks OP, cool app.
I just wanted to share this new app with the community. It's called S-pen Recorder for Note 10.1 2014 and is available in the Samsung App store. It allows pdf hand written notes to be synced with recorded audio. You can also click a portion of your written text and the audio recorded at that moment will be played. One note, Spen SDK must be installed from Google Play store or this app won't work. I found this out by emailing the developer who responded promptly and was very helpful. This is the 1st app on Android that I have seen that adds my most missed feature from Notability on my old Ipad. Glad it's available for our Notes!
very interesting hint. thx

I can't seem to be able to find this app in the Samsung Store. Can you or anyone point me in the right direction please?
Sent from my SM-P600 using XDA Premium HD app
To get the app you have to visit the Samsung App Store from your Note. It won't show up if you look it up on a phone unless you use a Web browser and select your Note on the left. I hope this link below works.

it does not do that. It just does a screen recording and then you have to scroll through the video to find what was being said at that time, which is very inefficient for a 2 hour lecture. This app lets you click on what you wrote within the note itself and it will play the audio based on what was being said at that stroke.

In LectureRecordings open the notebook you want to play back and click replay notebook. Once in the replay screen press the menu button and choose the option 'Search Recordings' and then it asks you to touch a spot in the notebook that you want the audio to start from and it'll start at that keystroke.
