I'm looking a simple carry case for the Prime with its dock. Something small, where the Prime would fit snugly. This is to give it additional protection in my larger laptop bag, so I don't need straps or pockets. I found a couple of such cases on Amazon, but they are not quite perfect.
This one seems fine, but has a nasty smell. This one has good reviews and would be ideal, but apparently is slightly too large for the original Transformer, so the Prime would "rattle" inside.
I got one from Currys, can't link it so just search for " LOGIK L10NTB11 10" Tablet Case".
Prime fits perfectly with and without the dock.
Thanks. It looks all right and is quite cheap. What about quality and amount of padding?
The Swissgear Lunar 10.2" netbook case is quite good. It has decent padding all around, and the woven nylon side panels are more sturdy, and more resistant to moisture than any neoprene case.
http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/057570.htm
It is pretty much a perfect fit for the Prime & dock:

Well if you can find a better price go for it
I paid $19 for the case in my local Walmart, but it is very hard to find this particular case at an online retailer that will deliver to the U.S., so I haven't looked to hard to find them. Also, as a U.S. resident it is hard to search UK versions of sites like Amazon because they always wants to default any searches to the U.S. site.
I just ordered one of these
http://www.amazon.com/SumacLife-Neoprene-Transformer-10-1-inch-Wristband/dp/B006TMLXYK
looks like a nice case, and a good price for a neoprene one.
I'll do a little write up on it when it comes.
Caselogic pls-9 neoprene exterior, microfiber interior, perfect fit for tab+dock pocket on front for bits, micro sd, cleaning cloth, charger (just fits), with a dedicated pouch for a thumb drive.

I use the John Lewis 10" D3O sleeve.
http://www.johnlewis.com/231418155/Product.aspx
Initially a tight fit, but being leather it stretches, so I like it as it only takes up a bit more space than the Prime
Probably worth looking in John Lewis in case the initial fit bothers you, but it only took a few days to loosen up...
OK, though I'm an American now, I ordered the snug fitting neoprene case made in the UK by No Limit Wetsuits on eBay UK. It's kind of a wetsuit for the Prime. I appreciate that it is sized to the Prime and not just some generic 10" thingy. Being neoprene, it nicely accommodates the Prime with, or without the dock. It's snug either way.
The only real down side is the very real neoprene smell. I fully appreciate the utility and snug practicality of this custom designed case; the smell I could do without.
Bye.
Sent from my Transformer Prime TF201 using xda premium
Eventually I bought Wenger Lunar. Strangely enough, they sent me a different version of the bag with handles. I'm not going to complain.
It is all right, but not perfectly sized for the Prime. The width is fine, but it is about an inch to high, so the Prime moves inside a bit. I think I will also get a neoprene one as an additional protection for the tablet in my rucksack.
PS: Does the neoprene smell fade with time?

Hmm the one I got had no neoprene smell at all. But mine also didn't have handles. It sounds like they sent you a Sherpa, which look similar to the Lunar but comes with handles and sometimes a shoulder strap. It is also slightly larger than the Lunar and makes greater use of neoprene in its construction.
Interesting. Mine looks different. I wonder what they sent me.
I bought the Black/Red neoprene case in the OP from ebay for around £4. Think it was listed as ipad case or something like that. Fitted nice and tight and also came minus the "smell"

I've been looking for a good-fitting case for weeks, and have bought a couple that "almost" fit, like the Kindle DX and some Netbook cases. I finally found one made by INIT, Model NT-DV209, that fits perfectly. It's a sleeve style and is evidently made to fit 9" electronics as opposed to the ones that fit 10" but are too big. I bought mine at a local Best Buy but if you google the part number, a lot of places carry it. It's a nice snug fit and doesn't seem to cause my power button to get pressed easily.
I also tried the "official" G Tablet case from Sears which as too wide and turned out to ba a CaseLogic 10" Netbook case.

I love my Targus A7 10.2" Netbook sleeve (TSS109US): comes in a variety of colours - mine is deep purple - fits like a glove and is very well padded inside, with scratch resistant lining over sculpted foam. Just check the product ID code - TSS109US - before you buy because apparently it comes in a range of sizes.
I paid $15 for it at Staples and though I see it listed as $20 on Staples.com right now, a quick Google search shows lots of opportunities to find a deal.
I would buy it again in a heartbeat.
I went looking for the Targus case mentioned above at Staples and found it for $20. I saw they had a couple of other cases too made by Targus that had the same internal dimensions as listed on the tags. I decided to get one of the other ones instead and it seems to fit really well. Thanks for the tip!

Solo lvl106-3 for 9.7 ereaders. I bought mine over at Staples. Amazon has them too. Two elastics and two cloth pockets. Actually 4 elastics to fit different sizes. The image is not exact! mine has four elastics in one corner (opposite the power and volume) and two corner 'pockets' on the other side so anything can fit. You can't easily (or wisely) access your power port and power button is snuggled in the corner pocket thing but it does not push on it and you can just push it without issue. All and all for $25 not bad.

I bought mine at staples but Amazon carries them too although as I pointed out about style difference. Not sure if the image is of another close variant.
That is an interesting idea. I also am leery of using a "jurry rigged" cover for my gTab.

I've had great experience with Targus products. I still have a laptop backpack that I used all through college, carrying 100 lbs of books at a time. I bought the same one from amazon and i got my tab secured to this case with sticky velcro, now my tab dose not move a bit. with all elastic and soft corner unsecured and with only velcro sticking tab against the case i can even hang my tab upside down safely. Only reason why i bought this sleeve is because of zipper and the soft padding to protect the tab and its screen

I bought the Targus A7 and while it is no frills and contains no extra pockets other than the main compartment, it is well-padded and constructed. Good purchase.

I bought this case too but am going to pick it up tomorrow. It sounds like the g tab does fit inside of it but there is some extra space inside the case.
Hey guys as a lot of you have probably realized the transformer's form factor is pretty similar to a generic 10 inch netbook's dimensions. I spent a few hours the other day looking for something that is slim and would have the option to carry a few extra things (charger and cable) while offering enough protection against light bumps and scrapes. I saw a few regular black ones that if i ever left anywhere might be hard to spot. Then i saw this one for the HP mini which was black with some red accents and stretchy pockets.

The inside is lined with some fuzzy material thats super soft to the touch.
The fitment is pretty much dead on. I was afraid it wouldn't fit cuz the tab does look a bit on the long side, but here it is overlaid on the sleeve as well as sitting in it. You can also see that the zipper is the hidden type, which makes it look a little more sleek:
I don't have the dock yet (who does? lol), but i'm confident that theres plenty of room to spare judging by pictures of mockups with the two halves' thicknesses compared.
Overall, very happy with it, as i ordered it on amazon with 2 day prime and it shipped the next morning Now if only i could get this thing unbricked so i can actually use the sleeve and take it places..
Heres the link for anyone interested, 15 bucks on amazon with prime.
HP Tablet Sleeve - Black with Red Trim
looks good.
I bought one of these because of your recommendation. I got it yesterday, and I am pleased with it. It's a little thicker than I expected. Fit's perfect in length, and a little extra width, which is expected given it's form factor. There is a good amount of padding for protection. The zipper is protected from the inside, so no worries about it scratching the bezel. There's plenty of room even with the keyboard dock. I do kinda wish there was a strap/handle that you could hook your fingers through. It has a few pockets on the outside that you can slide things like usb flash or sd cards. You can squeeze the charger in one, but not comfortably. That's what the 16 hour battery life is for.
I got one of these too and its great!

I'm glad that theres room to spare with the dock, as i will probably put a small notebook in there for those instances where you just need to use paper. For the money paid, it really is a pretty good deal it seems.
Thanks for the post! I actually have that same case for my HP Mini (but with the white inner lining) and was wondering if it would fit my TF when it comes in Monday.
Now I know that it will, Thanks!
I have this case as well and it works for me I don't have the dock yet but as others have said it should have plenty of room. I found that the charger fit best in the top small pocket on the front (the one with the plastic piping on the top edge). Having the piping there helps to keep the charger from falling out. I get $10 off $20 discount cards for Office Max all the time. At my local office max this case was going for $20.99 so $11 after the discount made it a no-brainer It looks like it will also allow you to nest cases. If you buy a leather portfolio style case you could leave that attached to the TF and slide it into the neoprene case for extra protection Double-bagging, if you will.
That 'piping' on the top is actually a handle that is on both sides of the case!
I got the same case at MicroCenter in Minnesota for 9.00 in the discount section. Fits the Tablet with or without dock very well. Pouches work creat for power brick and cable. It is soft on the inside without the lint problem some of them have. IMO this is the perfect case.
P.S. I DONT NEED NO STINKING "Smart Cover". A keyboard/dock that covers the light sensor for hibernation when closed, doubles the battery life, adds full USB ports and SD slot.... NOW THAT IS A DAMN SMART COVER. (plus I got it on buy.com for only 60 bucks more that that limp vinyl feminine napkin with magnets that apple calls a cover)

wow, I didn't even think twice about that until you mentioned it...that is really clever. The design of this case is very thought out yet simplistic. I like it a lot.
Any 10" Netbook sleeve will fit it. I am using one by Built.
One of the benefits of a netbook sleeve as well is if/when you get the keyboard, it will still fit and be useful.
I have the same sleave and it fits the TF+dock just fine.

Unfortunately not the case, I bought one of the basic neoprene slip kind and it was way too small. This one however looks awesome, I think I'm sold.
I got this case too. Fits rather snugly and you need to position the tablet to sit into the groove at the bottom to ensure a good fit.
Otherwise a great case and as mentioned fits fine with the dock.
The piping handle too is a great touch.
I can confirm as well that the Transformer fits nicely with the dock attached.

Is it snug without the keyboard dock attached? Or is there a lot of unused space inside, since I suppose it was designed for a netbook which is thicker.
Found one of these at Wal-Mart on the clearance rack for 10 bucks. It had a foam insert to help it keep shape on the shelf and I keep it in there for added protection for my screen since I don't have the dock yet. This thing works very well and I love the "handle" on top. The zipper closure on top is also very snazzy.
Can't hurt that the red color also matches my iFaraday stylus!
I've seen maxpedition fatboy or something a-like but they say that even a nook color would not fit the fatboy. Im looking for a everyday carry bag where i can easily pull up my tablet. Im using a backpack right now, but it seems like a messenger bag would be much better.
I've been looking for the same thing. Something that'll take the TF, dock, and a couple of thinner books.

It fits the TF with the dock perfectly, and I like that it has no zippers to scratch the TF. Even without the dock, the TF fits very well. There are no other pockets for the charger, but with the dock, youve got lots of battery life anyway. Its about being slim, and protected. I carry my TF all over with this sleeve. The lid has two padded things that fold into a wristwrest, so you could set the TF up on top of the sleeve and use the built in wrist rest while typing on the dock. Hey, its $15.00 and always in stock, how can you go wrong?
I'm using the Kensington slingbag currently, it fits the TF & dock nicely with room for accesories and my lunch

This is an indiana jones bag! i want! My friend will laugh at me for this because they will think it resembles the bag from the movie hangover.
This is the best bag:
I've got the Tom Bin Ristretto
I grabbed this sleeve for the Transformer + Dock.
HP Tablet Sleeve - Black with Red Trim - $9.88 with Prime Shipping
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0033RSNPG
Then got this to put it and other bits in. It's a great size, the sleeve above fits nicely in the back pocket leaving another front pocket and a small pouch on the front with some pen holders. If I was to criticise I'd say it could do with some zipper pockets and the strap could look a little sturdier. Still for $15 it's a great starter bag until you love it or fine something else.
Rothco Canvas Map Case Shoulder Bag - $14.85
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BFJE38
I also bought this but it's way to big for my needs, something I'd use if traveling but not for day to day use.
M-51 Engineers Field Bag - Military Style - Black - $29.25
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000YV6Q58
That leather bag looks sweet though.
I just bought this one last night locally at CompUSA for $24.99.Fits the Transformer while docked with the keyboard pretty nice. It also allows me to drop in the Asus sleeve right next to it. It has storage pockets on the front of it that allows the charger and cable and other accessories. So far pretty happy with it.

Use this as my everyday case. Love the fact it has 2 pouches (one for the keyboard and one for the TF). Sometimes I don't wanna use the keyboard and it's a pain to undock the TF to use it and then dock it back when I'm done to put it in a sleeve. Plus it holds my charger and cable. Each pouch is big enough to hold both the TF and dock together.

I've heard good things about the Tom Bihn products and it may be worth it to me if I plan on using the bag on a daily basis for several years and tablet purchases. I'm don't want to settle for a product I'm not 100% satisfied with that may not stand the test of time.
I bought a CaseCrown Messenger Bag for my TF...It fits the tablet alone fine, and also is a great fit with the keyboard attached...It's soft, but has great padding and a velcro clasp that holds the Eee Pad in it's own compartment in the bag......

The tag says it uses the Tri-cell cushion system, which appears to be a nice thick foam lining the inside of the sleeve. If you watch the video in the manufacturer link above, that bubbly blondie says that the case is made of the same wear and water-resistant material used in tents and inflatable boats.
So far, I love this sleeve. Gives you a soft, padded protection lining on the inside (which I feel was missing in my sleeves while I was researching), and is a great fit with the Prime.

Can you or anyone else confirm the fit of the prime while attached to the keyboard dock? It would be thicker but not by too much..

You can't tell from looking at the pictures he posted? There's room for a dock and my fist in that sleeve. You'll be fine with this sleeve if you're concerned about being able to fit the keyboard dock as well.
But hey, it's not my $18. If you want to confirm more, by all means do so. But I'm pretty convinced it does by seeing those pictures.
I'm using the A7 Sleeve as well, and it works like a charm! My Prime fits perfectly, even leaving enough wiggle room (not too much tho, so its not sliding around).
Just wish it had another little side pocket for my charger!
I have this exact one also. I like it alot. It will do until I fins an official case roms go on the prime itself. Then I could put both inside this tsrgus case. I lil while back I had posted pix of this in the neoprene thread. Paid like 20 dollars from best buy. SAMSUNG galaxy tab had a really nice one but was expensive. They also had some military grade rubberized case for Ipad that looked very heavy duty. Rubber felt thick like a tire ..lol.
Overall this targus sleeve is very nice. Love how the interior is padded and protects the prime so well.
I've got the same sleeve. It has been working out just fine but ultimately I would like to get some sort of slim hard case as soon as availability of such cases improves.

Looks good! Might get either this or the rooCase bubble sleeve thing.
Found this real cheap on Amazon though

It's the Targus A7 for 10.2 netbooks which I'm guessing is more than ample for the TP + dock.

OK. I didn't know they carried different sizes. This is the one I actually have. For 10.2 netbooks. Remember it being on the tag. That's a great deal on Amazon because it costed me 20 in best buy.
I have the Targus A7 ipad version. It fits my docked prime perfectly. It slides in and out easily and zipper closes without any contact to prime itself due to padding along the zipper.

I have the netbook 10.2 version I got from bestbuy also lol works great! For the prime and dock

Ordered from China - I was thinking about importing more for other devices and selling them on if they were good enough, as there's an absence of silicone cases on the market here.
So, it comes in a rather nice plastic sleeve with Sikai all over it, and a very inspirational slogan: "Design originates from life. Specialization achieves quality." All good so far! I'm more impressed than I expected to be. Except with the slogan. It's not inspirational.

So I open up the sleeve. Immediately notice a really acrid rubber smell, even a few feet from the case. It's horrendous. It smells like there's been a friction fire in a condom factory. I've smelled more pleasant things coming out of my cat. You might expect this to be just the new rubber smell, but a rinse off doesn't get rid of it. No, this smell is here to stay. This certainly isn't the food grade material you get on some others. You'd be lucky to live if you ate anything off this.
Not that these things are designed for having lunch off, of course - but there's a trend today away from caustic rubber smells, BPA and parabens, and this doesn't try to follow. I wouldn't want any of the small things in my house chewing on this.
The smell is more bearable after a while. It's probably destroying my nose hairs. Okay, front view.
It looks okay. So some parts of it do take a big nod toward quality. The feel of the case is nice - the textured cover certainly won't be slipping out of your hands, and it's reasonably thick. The logo imprinted inside the case is a nice touch, too - that little extra bit, even though it's basically just a bit of blown rubber, adds to the overall impression of it.
The holes for peripherals, sensors and the cameras are nice, too - there's no spare silicone hanging off the holes, and overall it's really well made.
The back is just as nice. That textured feel is present all the way around. The Sikai logo is nicely imprinted - the detail is good. Overall, having a good feeling about it.
Okay, let's slide in the TF300T...
It goes in easily. Probably slightly too easily - after literally no struggle at all, the pad is in the case. And here's where the problems start.
Although the case fits snugly around the back, with all the holes matching up to the ports and sensors, around the front it's a different story. The front camera holes and sensors don't fit snugly - they're a few mm from the case holes, so that renders the front camera useless. You end up just seeing the ill-fitting case. All around the front of the case, the poor fit is the same:
But the holes fit nicely around the rest of the case: there isn't a mismatched hole, everything fits in and the volume buttons are taken care of nicely. They work very well.
However, leaving it on for a while, the deficiencies become apparent. That smell is back every time you get close to the tablet. Naturally, you may as well forget about using your front camera, too: it fits so poorly that it's entirely obscured by the case unless you hold it down to the glass. And the case starts to pick up the smallest of dust particles - not only that, but they stick to the case like... well, like the bad smell that the case also came with. They're a nightmare to get rid of. You're not cleaning this one in a hurry. And when you do clean it, it's going to get filthy again really quickly.
Alright, this is the black one - and we all know that black things show the dirt more. But the textured cover, while very impressive and grippy, just serves to attract dirt that gets stuck in the textures.
Not a great case - those fundamental flaws are the smell, the way dirt gets lodged in there and the extremely poor fit. "Specialization achieves quality"? It clearly doesn't. I think this is going in the bin - unless I find out a way to shrink it onto the pad, and then spray it with Febreeze every day.
Check this post out. I bought a silicone case off EBay that fits perfectly. Also, no acrid smell either. I have also listed my other purchases for my tablet in this post. The only thing missing is the dock. I just got it the other day from Office Depot. The manager even matched the price Walmart had online. I paid $119 for the dock.

Interesting. I was looking at a folding case instead. Something that's very similar to the first one - does the tablet fit pretty snugly?
Either that or a revolving one. They're just bulky, though. Kinda defeats the point of a thin and light tablet.

Oh yes, It fits the tab perfectly and I'm actually very impressed with it. Now that I've gone and bought a dock, I won't be using it as much as I would like.
I just bought a Poetic leather case for the dock and keyboard. According to the details and the reviews, it's all real leather and not the PU leather a lot of the cases are made of. I'll have it the first or second week of January and post a review for it.
Here's a link for it.
