Overskreen is the freaking boss. Bought it and absolutely in love with it. AirCalc and GotYa (by the same company) are absolutely GOLDEN as well. Thanks for sharing.
I do have to admit though. The video playing while on the navigation screen is quite terrifying. Lol. At least they are apparently not on a freeway. Lol.

You guys have pushed this vendor enough, we get it. LOL bought it.
So it seems that this stylus, http://www.atmel.com/microsite/stylus/default.aspx, might be compatible with our tabs, this is based on the fact that the 7.7 includes the touchscreen controllers based on Atmel's maXTouch® E Series. There is a video that shows it working with what looks like a Verizon 10.1 tab. The only thing is that it supposed to only be compatible with Android 4.0. Now my question is, since we are scheduled to have the update soon, will we be able to actually use this stylus? There is no release date of this stylus anywhere, i have contacted their local sales office in the USA and never got a response. Has anyone come across anything related to this new stylus? Any technical people out there have an input if this will actually work? Thanks.

So i sent Amtel a message via their Facebook page:
"Hello, i have a question and i am wondering if you could provide an answer. I own an international Galaxy Tab 7.7 3G+Wifi P6800 from Samsung. I unserstand that the tab includes a maxtouch sensor, not sure which series, and i am wondering if the mxts100 will be compatible with this tab? The tab is scheduled to receive Android 4.0 in the next couple of months and i understand the stylus is compatible with it. Also if you couple please provide a release date and price range. There are many owners that are extremelly interested and hopefull this stylus does work. Thank you and hope to hear from you soon."
Their response:
"Hello, Antonio: Thanks for your interest! We are working with a number of OEMs who are integrating the mxts100 into their designs. These OEMs will announce product information as their products become available in the market."
Very plain if you ask me, not sure what to make of it.

According to this Atmel link (http://ir.atmel.com/releasedetail.cfm?ReleaseID=610205) the Galaxy Tab 7.7 uses the Atmel maXTouch mXT768E controller (http://www.atmel.com/Microsite/maxtouch_eseries/mxt768e.aspx).
The E-series controllers can accommodate a "2mm thin passive stylus" which brings the new C-Pen from the Galaxy S3 to mind (http://m.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones-accessories/ETC-S10CSEGSTA).

Wondering if the C-Pen could work with the 7.7 now that it has ICS or something else needs to be done (software update?) for it to work, or will a dedicated stylus be release for the tab.

I saw a YouTube video of the C-Pen in use on an S3 and truthfully it was pretty disappointing -- no better than my Jot Pro that I use with an iPad2, which is pretty much an exercise in frustration for "natural" note taking.

I actually just called atmel regional sales office in the US, the maxstylus is in beta testing and they are working on supporting our tablets!!! No release date of course, original release was slated for 2012Q1, which has obviously come and gone.... but beta testing means sooner than later! ....unless you're vlc.

I have an Adonit Jot Pro which I am currently using with my 7.7. While the stylus is quite effective, it is unfortunate that most of the note taking apps for android have not implemented the palm rejection. It may not be a problem in smaller devices, but it's kinda hard to jot on a 7.7 without resting on the screen.
So is there any note taking app with palm rejection in android akin to noteshelf for the iPad?
try Jotter... it has great palm rejection, I use it all the time on my note...
Heeler
Jotter is for the galaxy note only. It doesn't support palm rejection in other tablets without s-pen.

Yeah, the flat piece seems like it could interfere with mark making. I draw pretty fast, so I need to know that when contact is made, a mark is being made. Good question! That is from their television advertisement. You would think it would be an obvious feature.
Perhaps with this upgrade to Samsung S-apps?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FvH6vbhOs6Y&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I think everyone who bought a Note asked themselves the very same question. The S apps in the commercial seem to be quite a bit better than what they actually delivered.

Yeah, but I'm not putting much faith in that, since its been demoed and on commercials forever.
I had good luck with groupboard. Just go to the demo board. Go to connect then find boards, then who's on. It has chat and seems to be fairly real time. Only issue is to change drawing options have to go to separate tab. Also doesn't seem to support pressure or have nice brushes.
I think you can make your own board for up to five people for free. Notice the progression on the demo board lol!

WORD!!!
Feel free to consider this blasphemous, but honestly if the phone it self is too much bigger I might just pass. Don't get me wrong I love my Gnote, but if the form factor got too much bigger, I'd just feel silly using it as a phone.
I kind of thought the same thing at first. "Man this is an awful big phone" But within 2 minutes of holding
it i got use to it. The 4.7 and 4.8 inch HTC and GS3 seems small now.
I can finally say to the guys "mine is bigger than yours" but in about a month or less i can
no longer say that:crying:
Don't get your hopes to high. Its still going to take some times to get through the carriers and don't expect that quad core chip to stick around either. If the gs3 wasn't able to run it then you can bet that it won't be in the note2

Uh oh, where are they going to cram all the logos with no bezel?
Should be hot but if no resolution increase, not worth the upgrade.
Also, Samsung needs to take another page out of the apple playbook, keeping the same external form factor for 2 years. With more phones and time, their devices would get a more robust accessory ecosystem.
Wow it gives a very good hope. I was so tempted from the GSIII but I cannot give this screen. Ah... hope its available in the US soon.

I still can't get used to the size of my Galaxy Note after owning it since May. I'm 6'2 with big hands and still find this phone too big. The only time I play with it is if there are new roms and after using it for a while it would feel weird holding my S3.

Internal specs will simply match the GS3. Hopefully if they decide on the Snapdragon processor again, they use the S4 PRO with the adreno 320. That would be best case scenario. That, or tegra 3+. But Sammy I don't think has really ever used tegra chips

That's really the main reason I feel the Pro isn't out of the question, because its currently being released, or touted for release with many phones. The pro wasn't available when the GS3 debuted. The pro should sufficiently drive the newer high resolution screen of the Gnote 2

Clarification: the gs3 runs just fine with quad core...but the CPU doesn't work with LTE.
This might be a concern to those that really really want LTE but for those of us who don't have it in our area its more about development. International versions (so far non-lte) have more devs and more roms to flash. Gnote international will have a cm10 nightlie ROM a hell of a lot quicker than we will.

Your leak on the original Note was spot on, so I'm excited to see what you dig up, even if you don't get a chance to take pics.
