[Q]How to make your own ROM - Galaxy Ace S5830 General

Hi all,how to make your own rom? I searched for it but no thread explain to make rom..And i m very excited to make a rom. Help me. Please explain to me. I'm new to Android.

First and most important thing is you need to be patient and search because u will hit thousands of bump and if you wanna make thread for every one of them then u won't be a successful dev. So start searching there is tons of info on how to make roms. Learn c++ and java and xml u will need those.

i will tech you (But i have wifi problem)
How to make rom (it very easy)
1.modify your phone ,install tweak,etc.
2.reboot to clockworkmod recovery choose backup.
3. wait.....
4.in directory /sdcard/clockworkmod/backup you will found system.rfs.tar or system.ext4.tar and boot.img you should copy files to computer
5.extrack system.....tar and you import this files to zip (this zip was sign) and import boot.img too.
6. you will edit file "update-script" (you should write format /system script too.)
6.1 you can speak by use this command ui_print("");
**** update-script use syntax like C launage
6.2 write this script to flash boot.img(kernel)

assert(package_extract_file("boot.img", "/tmp/boot.img"),write_raw_image("/tmp/boot.img", "boot"),delete("/tmp/boot.img"));
6.3 write this script ro install sytem
Code:
package_extract_dir("system", "/system");
*** if you can't do it please write script to mount system
7. reboot to Enjoy!!
impotant should write script to format your patition before install rom

Actually, its simple if u want to make a stock base rom or cm7 base rom...but not from source, just take+install+edit then make a flasable zip but search is the better way

Very specific I don't believe you need to know programming to make a rom. Just a few commands and be a bit of a techie. Please dont just make a rom with a different wallpaper and call it ScoffyMod v1!

Its funny how people are advicing someone who doesn't know how to make a rom with another base,to learn XML,c++ and Java,which is build from source...LOL...
@OP,if you want to make a rom,then refer my guide about making custom roms,it will give you a good start and a start only coz its not advanced at this stage...Will update it when my exams get over
