Try this, but not sure what type of rom you want
Im so tempted to say something....but anyway.....
Are you looking for a stock ROM (not room) as you say your phone is broken and for what region or firmware. Also what have you done to it to have broken it??.

yes, using odin you do it the same way.
Yes, it was rooted as the rooting was part of lightening rom.
You will need to root it yourself if you put a stock rom not a custom rom on it.
Look in this thread for your vodafone rom

Seriously please tell me english isn't your first language?
Hi Guys. I'm new to Galaxy S2 forum. Just got the phone today. So, what do I have to do? I have a few questions. Pls help me. Thanks!!
1. How do I root the S2?
2. Do I have to flash a new recovery, such as clockworkmod?
3. Is installing a ROM the same way as installing one on galaxy ace(my phone for today, last day)?
If you have other tips to tell me, please let me know!! Thanks and really appreciate your help!!

Stickies here.
First you need to now which kernel do you have, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1103399, choose kernel to match with yours, make sure usb debugging is on, extract kernel zip file, start odin, reboot you phone in download mode, connect phone, put kernel zip file in pda section, click start. After reboot you`ll have same rom but rooted and with cwm recovery. Now you can flash what rom you want

SINGLE most important thing you need to do is get off your lazy butt and do some reading, if you aren't willing to spend several several hours of reading BEFORE flashing anything or trying any modification to your phone, then you deserve the flamings that are coming your way, or better yet, you need to go buy you a little feature phone that you can't do anything to.
I think people should be given capacity tests before they are allowed to own a smartphone
Can you guys recommend very good ICS ROM / CM9 for the Galaxy S2?

I would prefer Slim ICS (AOSP) with siyah kernel beta5, or just wait for the new version of Sensation ROM from Crysis21, as there aren't any good Samsung based ROMs.

I hope someone can help me please, after updating my Samsung Galaxy S2 to many new ROMs over the years I thought I was au fait with using ODIN etc. and I attempted to update the ROM on my 8 ear old son's YP-G1 (UK model - YP-G!CW/XEU to be exact).
The update to Cyanogenmod failed, which I tried to correct by going back to stock however if I understand correctly I have accidentally applied the Stock Kernel and I now just get a logo screen for Galaxy S2 ! I cannot get into the recovery boot menu (vol=up + home etc) but I can get into download menu (vol down & home & power etc). Hence I am hoping that all I need to do is find the right stock ROM (or any other ROM that I can apply via ODIN) and I can get it working again....
However I cannot find the correct files... or when I think I have I get an error along the lines of "E: signature verification failed" - which I believe means it's the wrong ROM
Can someone help PLEASE ! ??
Can I fix this by applying a working ROM for this model via ODIN ?
Where can I find such a ROM because all the ones I find seem to need the recovery menu to apply them but I can only access the download menu.
Many thanks for any help !!
This should help you getting your son's device back to normal :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850
Because your device is XEU, you should download the intl package.
Hope this helps.

Merci/Thank you for the response, I had found that page whilst trying to fix it myself and I try to apply the stock ROM (G1ZKC5) it all seems to go through properly but the device still just boots to Galaxy S2 logo screen .....any ideas ?
I found here.....
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1884071
that the STOCK kernel can have this S2 logo effect, I must have done that in error but how do I back it out/overwrite it ?

Yes I think so - I took the INtl Pit from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531850
and ran that through ODIN with the rom per the instructions ....
I am going to try it all again now....
...yes first thing ODIN says after I hit 'start' is "Set Partition"
