I have downloaded it. Uninstalled it. Reinstalled it, etc. Can't get it to work to save my life. Everything on it times out as if I have no network connection. Every other app works fine and I have no connectivity issues. Any ideas?
I had the same error. "network error, click to retry"
I have several apps always FC while working fine on my old Captivate.
Weird, doesn't work on my phone either. Works on my tablet though, so clearly there is an issue with this app on our phone. I'm just uninstalling it until it's updated.
Thanks peeps. Glad to know it's not just me.
I was having this issue myself. I found a solution somewhere else, I don't remember exactly where.
I had to go to Settings > Language and keyboard > Select Language
I selected ENGLISH from the list. For some reason, Deutsch was selected by default.
Changing it to English fixed my IMDB "Network error" problem. Seems to be a common occurrence.
Thanks for the reply. I don't see that in my settings though

i think he was talking about system language, and i don't see how that would have anything to do with this.... and i'm fairly confident most of us don't have our system language set to german
---------- Post added at 03:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:37 PM ----------
Actually... holy crap he was right. I went into my language in the phone settings and even though the phone was displaying english, german was selected. So I selected english and tried IMDB again and it works. This is REALLY bizarre.

Check the SETTINGS for the phone, not the IMDB app. When you go to LANGUAGE AND KEYBOARD it will show ENGLISH for the language but when you click on SELECT LANGUAGE it you'll see that DEUTSCH is selected.
Select ENGLISH.
CamaroZ28 confirms this.
Give it a shot.
IMDB app works fine for me and I was already set on English.

Too true! Settings showed English but when I opened it it was set to Deutsch.
Weird. But IMDB works fine now. Finally can settle those "Wasn't that guy in this movie?" bets with the wife again
Thanks I was having the same problem with Imdb!!

Anyone know how to change the volume of the key presses on FlexT9? It's super loud. I still want it to "click" when I press a key, just probably 20% of how loud it is now.
Hi all, I have searched about this issue and it seems like there isn't a workaround for it. I recently acquired SGS3, and found this Email issue very annoying (specifically Hotmail). I tried K9 and MailDroid, and found that they didn't have as good as a Push feature as the stock SGS3 email app. (I was an avid Blackberry user)
Anyway, I just want to bring this to the attention of other more knowledgeable users on xda. Are there any methods to make Hotmail Email sent from SGS3 (using stock email app) show the Full sender name instead of the Hotmail login name?
Others with the same issues:

Is it possible to set the from name when sending an email using the default email app?
I'm sending via hotmail configured as exchange in the app but the from name always shows as the full name associated with my live login. On all my other ICS devices, in the standard email app its possible to configure what you want to show as your name in the from field.
Is this no longer possible as it looks like they've removed the option from the configuration screen. Any hack to do it?

It was an issue with SGS2 and SGS1 before it. It's a Samsung stock email issue. Surely there are loads of people out there with Samsung phones and Hotmail accounts?

bump again, any news about that?

ok i finally managed to fix it in a very primative way, when you are going to your account settings you can see the "your name" option n it disappears right away, what you need to do is to change any option in the menu n exit, then get in the settings again n this time the "your name" option will last a second or two, enough time to hit it to be able to change it

This worked perfectly. I've had my Galaxy Note for just under a year and have had to resort to the official Hotmail app on the market which is very buggy. I was seriously annoyed when my name wouldn't appear from the stock email app, it otherwise worked very well.
As you said, when you enter the settings menu the Your name option appears for a second before disappearing. The only way to get it to return is to change any menu option, close the menu and then return to the menu. You have to be quick but you can select the option before it disappears and edit your name in the dialogue box that appears.
Good find!
It took a few attempts but here's a screenshot taken during that tiny one second window.
Isn't there another way to get the Your Name option updated? Unfortunately I must be really to slow as I'm never able catch that option for the fraction of second I see it...

Hey guys, fine?
So, my phone is with a really strange bug. One day I entered the accessibility menus, and entered the Explore by Touch thing, just to read what it was about. Saw that changed the whole system way to act and forgot about it. (Didn't even activated). Since then, that feature is activated, no matter what I do. Already freezed the Talkback thing, nothing. It's activated on apps like Chrome, Facebook and BBC Olympics have this problem.
Anyone also has this problem? Or had and fixed it? The last thing I want to do is reflash my ROM...

Hello everyone and thanks for checking out my post. I have a little problem here. I downloaded SuperNexus Rom which is a jellybean rom. It had Google Now already installed, but it didnt work like i expected... When i ask it questions like "How is the weather" It always googles it.
It doesnt show up like in siri or s-voice. Google Now doesnt speak either. And also on the Google Now "homepage" where it is supposed to show cards there is none of them. It only shows the "Cards will be shown here when needed" card. (Roughly translated from Finnish) And i do have the cards turned on in the settings.
Well thank you anyways, i really hope ill get an answer for these problems. - Maccoz
Try wiping cache+data and re-flashing rom?
Sent from my GT-I9100 using xda premium
Go to "Google Now > [MENU] > Settings > Voice > Speech output" and select "always".
For photo's goto "Google Now > [MENU] > Settings > Privacy and accounts" and tick "Search on google.com".
Remember the program needs to 'learn you ways' and this can understandably take time. I'm not on speaking terms as I don't use that feature, but give it some time and see if it works. You should probably use it regularly (?).
Hope this helped,
ruan
ive been using cm10 for a while and only noticed today that google now supports finnish audio input, so i immediately tried it and cards do not show up for me either when asking about the weather. with english it works. as far as i know the cards only work with the languages available for offline download in the voice settings.. keep in mind google now is still beta so its only natural it doesn't work 100% with every language right from the start
Thanks for the replies! :good: I tried to re-flash the rom and clearing the cache too but it didnt work. And i do have those options selected.
I didnt know that it doesnt have full support for finnish language, thanks for clearing that out for me! How do i change the language? I tried Settings->Speech->Language->English->US but it still doesnt show any cards on the homepage, what am i doing wrong? Thank you!
edit: I changed the system language to english and the Google now language to English and it still doesnt show any cards.... Only the sample cards option... Well i am not giving up and helpful tips are welcome!

I was having the exact same problems as you. My weather card just completely disappeared, even from the samples cards. So I followed those instructions, turned it off and on again, reset everything but still nothing. So I just left it like that for a while and then after like an hour or so it just reappeared in my notifications and the card was there again. Weird. Just it just needs time to reinitialise again
So try resetting, turn it off and on, go into settings >> now cards, and make sure the weather card is on (and any others that you want) and just leave it. See what happens. It should come back by itself. Hope it works.
I was prompted to update swype this morning. I did so, and now everytime I select swype it closes automatically and I get the android keyboard.
- Swype Beta is checked in Language & Input (android keyboard is selected and grey in this screen)
- Choose Input Method screen. I select "Swype Beta". It flashes to Swype. Then reverts back to Android keyboard immediately
- I have cleared cache, etc. and rebooted the phone. This brought me to the new swype EULA and activation process. Which I did successfully. I rechecked all settings.
- I have since uninstalled. Reinstalled. Reactivated. Selected. Rebooted. Etc. Nothing.
Still nothing but silence from Swype about this set of issues that are spreading like wildfire across multiple Android forums I am a member of.
Jelly bean 4.1.2 on Galaxy Nexus HSPA+ running stock android, etc
Swype 1.3.1.9274 (downloaded on 18 October, 2012)

Same problem exactly Galaxy Nexus (Verizon) running jellybean. I set swype as default and it resets immedatly to default android keyboard. Does not do this with swift key. Android keyboard selector is greyed out so I cannot deselect.
Latest from swype:
"We have been able to reproduce this in-house and are confident we know what the issue is.
We are still investigating this but will keep this thread updated as we have more information.
We'll reach out to you further if needed."
In the meantime they are recommending:
"you should be able to use Swype be disabling any apps that are in Android Settings > Accessibility."
Which is only a temporary fix and I think (and hope!) they know that.

I think I would rather use SlideIT than disable Lightflow. I sure hope that Swype fixes this bug ASAP.
Temporary fix....
- Settings > Apps > All
- Disable Android Keyboard
- Reboot phone
- Select Swype
In this manner I am currently able to run both Lightflow and Swype.

My gps is off and I do not recall seeing it on since the update - its normal state is off until I need it.
The only thing I can think of is under Swype Connect in Settings I have "Cellular Data" turned off. Even though it doesn't list GPS as what it is using, could this be the cause?

I ended up restoring the previous Swype anyway, as this method of forcing Swype to remain selected caused Tasker's use of the accessibility service to fail, meaning no detection of notifications.
Swype has gone mostly dark on this after staying mostly on top of this on the 18th when the issue broke???
Last thing on their official forum was "ensure that all applications or settings that are in Android Settings > Accessibility are disabled/turned off." And how should that be considered a final solution?
No word on an update or real fix? And demanding to be the only app or program running in Accessibility sounds somewhat unrealistic.
Be nice to hear something current from Swype.

I hope they have a fix for the people that have been having problems with Jelly Bean and no spacing or no capitalization in a browser text box for the last two beta versions. They haven't even acknowledged the problem!!!
And there are many with the problem.
I received the OTA update today. Everything is fine for me.
I enabled my android keyboard and rebooted the phone. Android keyboard is back now.
I have seen on their official forum that people are having issues with having two swypes installed after the update, removing of personalization/dictionary, auto spacing not working etc. I luckily have none of these.
