Anyone knows what happened to the 370t? Asus hyped it a little more than a month ago and it has gone MIA. There's no more info or news of it since early January. I and many others where interested on it but seems like ASUS choose the HTC way and has announced 7 tablets and 3 phones in a month!
All I keep hearing is the specs of the device and a quarter 2 of this year release. I'm really eager to get more information about it too. In fact, a Google Alert sent me right to this thread, haha.
I was disappointed that they didn't announce anything about this device in MWC
yea im wondering when this is going to come out.
They can give us some info any time now. Passing up on a Thrive today on 1saleaday to wait on the 370T.

Got the same alert set with the same result.
Couldn't keep waiting, so I bought one of the Buy.com refurb HTC Flyers. A very nice device, but if that Memo proves not to be vaporware with those specs at that price, the Flyer is going straight on ebay.
yea, i didn't get the "urge" to get a tablet until I heard about the MeMo 370t
The price is right
The power is right
The size is what I was looking for
Hopefully they keep us occupied with something.

Haha no Google Alerts today, bummer. I'm in the same boat as you. I bought a Nook Tablet last month. Hopefully it will hold me off until the Memo comes out, preferably before June!
EDIT: Scratch that, just received a couple alerts. I've learned that it will be released in India during the month of May and that it will NOT be released in the European market. Neither of these pertain to me, but still good information.
Just more rumors but makes some sense!
http://www.androidauthority.com/nexus-tablet-asus-quad-core-tegra-3-199-59852/
Yeah I'm waiting for the Asus Memo 370t too. It feels like it's taking forever. I pasted up on getting a samsung galaxy tab 7.0 plus back in january to wait for the memo 370t. Now I'm starting to regret it. I don't want to wait another three months. I need a high performance tablet now.
Just heard the Tegra 3 Asus Memo 370t is being scrapped. It's being replaced altogether by Google's new Nexus tablet. At least it's still being made by Asus...
Source: http://androidcommunity.com/insider...ancelled-rebranded-the-nexus-tablet-20120316/
I'm also confused. I've read it's still on the table, others that not.
Damn, I really wanted this tablet.
Now I don't know if I should get a KFire and have it with CM7 or get a Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 instead... I can't wait longer
The guy here still seems to think the 370T is being released in India. I'm not sure if even that's true or not. All I do know is that the has been no word on a US release.
http://androidtipsandtricks4u.blogspot.com/2012/05/asus-memo-tablet-370t.html
On the bright side, there's been no news on the Nexus Tablet either, so I guess it might still be possible. I hope.
More rumors now that Google is sticking with Samsung for its Nexus Tablet, instead of Asus. If this is true, it could be good news for the MeMo 370T hopefuls out there! These rumors are driving me insane though.

I was almost going to buy tf1 and saw on the net and realized tf2 is only a few Weeks away.

The announcment is a few weeks away. Nvidia did not even announced Kal-EL officially.
Which means at best i will be able to buy the TF2 next year q1/q2.
That's a pretty bad assumption. They haven't announced it. It will be at least a couple of weeks after an announcement. You can also factor in delays and such. I seriously doubt a release will be this year.
As far as I can tell, no company has even hinted at a Kal-El device for the near future.
And there will be delays... from both Nvidia and Asus. I'd be a bit surprised if they had released something before February.

Why in the world would you believe "some websites"?
The tegra 3 hasn't even been released yet. They've dropped hints here and there to keep their investors. But that is it. And based on history, these kinds of products are due for delays.
And don't expect the price of the TF 1 to drop. The TF2 will be $100 more.
I don't understand why people think the TF2 can come out in a couple weeks. Here's a breakdown of what's going to happen.
Nvidia has to actually release the chip. Asus engineers have to integrate it into their systems. There will undoubtedly be hardware and software bugs. They'll have to stamp out those bugs, or at least enough of the bugs for the system to be stable. Then they'd have to rush these new specs out to production.
You're looking at at least 6 months.
I learn from history. I first heard about a transformer-like device from asus in mid 2010. Just groundless rumors saying asus would "soon" come out with a powerful tablet that is different than any other tablets (keyboard dock hint hint). I waited and waited and waited... Then a year later, the TF finally came out. By that time, I had bought the a500.
So, again, what person in his right mind would think the TF 2 will come out in a couple weeks? I don't get it. Who started this ridiculous rumor?
tegra 3 is already a finished product.

Yea it's gonna be a screamer...... site says it's runnng Android 2.3....progress
Maybe it's sooo advanced it's too good for even HC
G for Games Source information for The TF2 is from Droid Life we all know no "just Rumors" there,
Wait for the 25nm chips thats he next real screamers
Of course... they didn't get the whole "different" tablet thing correct either... Always Innovating had it first. I was going to get that tablet.. but it was so ugly. So glad Asus made it so much better.
Isn't the TF1 still selling really well? What's the rush to cannibalize the success of this tablet? And I very much doubt that the TF2 is really that close to being ready to release. I'm guessing no sooner than early Q2 next year honestly. Really, the hardware of the TF1 isn't really holding it back at this point, it's the lack of a lot of good apps/games/etc IMHO. I just hope that other companies see the success of the true docking keyboard form factor so there will be other choices and a continued segement of the tab market that the TF101 currently holds all to itself. I really don't need a tab without the keyboard - it is MUCH easier to use as my laptop replacment with the tab docked. Also a big advantage to double the battery life with the dock.... anyway, I am digressing.... I call April 2012 for the TF2.
whats with all of this hate?
I would assume the best guess being October seeing as the CEO confirmed the Transformer 2 will NOT be delayed as previous speculation stated. This may push to November with the announcement of ICS being pushed back. We'll have to wait and see. I just purchased a Transformer a week ago and am returning it to wait for this beast.

What are you basing October/November on? Even if the CEO confirmed no delays, you have no idea what its general timeframe of release is. If X = expected release date and Y = delay, X - Y = Z (actual expected release date). You're somehow saying X - 0 = October/November, while providing no info that solves for X. Like I said in my last post, Q1 at the earliest, with April being my personal prediction.

TF1 was first shown in CES January 2011 but was really available in June/July. Wouldn't be suprised if TF2 has same schedule for 2012.
in response yto the OP's original question...no one knows for sure. It's anyones guess. if the history of the Tf1 means anything it will still be a while. Not that I doubt for a minuite they might try to rush some halfassed product out the door in time for Christmas sales. It's a business and that seems to be the norm in the computer and or mobile industry ...correction,,,all industries.

ok here you go buddy. It was a RUMOR that the transformer was to be released in october.
google Transformer 2 coming out in October you'll get dozens of other sites reporting the same thing.
Also, a report came out TODAY saying that the trasnformer 2 was slated for a november 7th release date according to a UK retailer.(READ LINK FROM POST ABOVE)
I cant post links because i need atleast 8 posts to post URLs
How many fingers are going to point to this date? April? I'd put my money on november 7th. Much more logical then to trust some random kid on a forum going "ya i think its april"
Edit: i know that it is a RUMOR that it was supposed to be released in October but think about it. Why would the CEO make claims that the transformer 2 would not be delayed if their wasnt a "general timeframe"
..and they did not even have 100% fixed the issues in the present one?

We are still fighting with TF201 and they "make joke of us" by launching some, that have all the fixes we helped them in "betatesting the Prime".
Thanks ASUS
So because Asus has had problems with a product that effect some of their users they should stop releasing new products?

Asus and all other company that make tablets and phones for android release new products all the time. Look att HTC or Samsung, new products comes almost every quarter.
Look at the Galaxy tab series, you have
Galaxy tab 7
Galaxy tab 7+
Galaxy tab 7.7
Galaxy tab 8.9
Galaxy tab 10.1
All this release under a time period of a year. Dont se that anybody being childish over that. And i can beet mony that they will release new tablets this summer.
People need to open their eyes and and grow up and dont give asus **** just because they will release a new model 6 months after the prime. Their will always come new and better products.,Company's cant stop making new device'sjust because you bought a new tablet.

Understood, but the issue here is all those tablets work just fine. Consumer's (the people that drop millions of dollars) want to see the energy directed towards helping us with these design flawed tablets instead of releasing new products. We kind of feel forgotten about already. Asus can make 20 more tablets, if they decrease their support and funnel their energy just into more sales for the newer products, yea, this will piss people off.
..the question is not if they may or may not launch other products.
These are going to be the products, we all THOUGHT we had bought.
I have spent more time writing mails, contacting ASUS, reading this forum and testing 4 different firmwares, than using the tablet itself. Why?? Because they cannot find out to build a good unit.
Plus where is GPS, now they "removed" it, but it was there. Where is the WiFi/BT usability. Where is the "feeling" that you bought a well working device.
Do not misunderstand, I like it, I appreciate that Gary is helping us live in the forum (Big CREDIT to him).
I will probably RMA mine, as it seems there is no way that WiFi/BT will work without replacing/fixing hardware disaster they made.
I am untitled to feel a bit too screwed, when I see that another device is a "repalcement" of the buggy one I spen 629€ for.
Hasn't this horse already been kicked of a cliff?
This thread hurts my head.

And you know that because you made extensive research in the corresponding forums? Believe me every brand new device that is so complex and small as these tablets have its quirks at first... And btw they dont even have ICS yet, when you have a Samsung device you have to be patient with that.

Forgotten??? Are you joking?? Asus i active on the forum and have released, what is it like 3-4 updates already.. that's way more support and updates then I got for my galaxy tab 10.1 the 6 months I used it.
have had both the Xoom 10.1 and the galaxy tab 7 and the 10.1. the 7" never got any love from Samsung, they just released it and then forgot it. It was not cheap when it launched. never got updates and was painfully slow and had alot of bugs. was after about 8 months and we got gingerbread the device started to work better.. The 10.1 hade its problems to. And this device didn't get any updates either.
slow and laggy UI and the browser FC alot. Android has always felt like a beta software.
I think that many users that bought Prime is new to android and have to high expectations.
The thing is that Prime function alot better then all other Android tablets out there!
would be fun to see the users that is unhappy with Prime testing a Galaxy Tab 10.1. I think they would get a shock in how slow and laggy it is.
I don't see this amount of complaints from the Xoom and galaxy tab owners that have run Honeycomb for a year that function worse than Prime. And honeycomb is far from stable and fast.
Most of complaints should be pointed to Google that don't give the hardware manufacturers like Asus a stable OS. And Nvidia.
All android device have had problems and don't give a good user experience. Try a other Android tablet and you will see that Prime rock.
Sucks i English but what I trying to say is that Android is unpolished but have potential, and that ICS is a new OS that only been out for 2 month.
And that many users is new to android and don't know what to expect and know how previous android device has work and what problems there is in the Android OS.
GPS is on ASUS. And it was a big miss.
But Asus is the company that have the closest contact with consumers and are supporting their devices with updates!!
The old transformer got updated to ICS before any other tablet and phone if you don't count the nexus and Xoom that is Google devices.

I agree with you, but this does not exclude what I said.
1 thing is admit that ASUS did not forget us.
1 thing is too accept to spend such an amount of money, wasting a lot of time to get it working, and realize that if they have screwed 2 things in a better way, the issue was not there.
Think of a car, where you discover that the brakes are faulty or that some of the electronics is faulty..
They repair it under warranty, but this does not mean you have to be happy.
I've heard new car's come out all the time too.... DUH
Can't wait for this model to come out. Gary from Asus, if you're reading this. Please, reply.
Just got linked to this thread via Google Alert. I'm really looking forward to the 370t also, and was really upset when I first heard the rumor that it was being scrapped in favor of the Nexus Tablet.

Yep, there's a heap of disappointed campers who were champing at the bit for the MEMO370T release. Pre order it advised me to keep my pre order in for both versions & they will notify if they hear the MEMO is coming out. Just read that JELLY BEAN is being released already & maybe the google tablet will get that. All well & good but that would probably mean another delay in production. I was so taken with the MEMO 370T but now windows8 tab will probably beat it out, decisions decisions. I prefer when there's only a choice of one, but guess I'm just lazy.

And I thought I got one hell of a deal when I bought mines 1/2 price on ebay! I would assume that the 'New' Nexus Q will come with a UI/Google TV perhaps... hopefully this will be something that current Nexus Q 'preview' owners will have a chance to move over our current device.
If you take a look at the email, Google said something to effect of,
We have an important update about your Nexus Q pre-order.
When we announced Nexus Q at Google I/O, we gave away devices to attendees for an early preview. The industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm. We also heard initial feedback from users that they want Nexus Q to do even more than it does today. In response, we have decided to postpone the consumer launch of Nexus Q while we work on making it even better.
To thank you for your early interest, we'd like to extend the Nexus Q preview to our pre-order customers and send you a free device. If you had other items in your order, your credit card will be charged for those items only.
Your Nexus Q will be on its way soon and you will receive a notification and tracking number from Google Play when it ships.

Notice the part where it says, "The industrial design and hardware were met with great enthusiasm"? To me that's saying that the hardware is staying the same, but all of their changes will be software based. If the hardware is the same, there's no reason that current owners wouldn't be able to update.
I got burned major, purchased two on ebay for $600 and CANCELED my preorders.....
I called them today to see if they would re-instate my preorders, and they said no.....
Got the logitech google tv free a few years ago..
but this just hurts...
I believe pre-orders could only be made by US residents so far right?
According to engadget those orders began shipping today. Whatever improvements they made should be apparent by the time those devices arrive to the people who ordered them (3 days generally)

I really like this tablet (all but the light bleed and the lack of a good charger, with the latter being not really a big deal) and am still planning on getting one as soon as they're back in stock next year IF the light bleed is fixed in the next batch. But, after seeing the news yesterday.about the Motorola/Google Flagship X devices (Phone and subsequent tablet), I'm really tempted to wait for that tablet seeing as it will also be a Nexus device and have Motorola's awesome build quality (After my first Nokia brick phone way back in the day, every device I owned after was Motorola, and I love their build quality.) I know for sure I'll get the phone since my 2 year will probably be up on my Nexus by that time, but I may also wait for that tablet.
Anyone else who's been waiting to buy the N10 feeling the desire to wait it out a bit longer?
I do, but not because of the x tablet, I am not a big fan of Motorola so. But I think I will wait until CES 2013 and see if there's anything worth waiting for, if not I'm not even sure about Nexus 10 anymore, Samsung's Note 10.1 seems like a better choice somehow.

I'm not completely unimpressed with Samsung's build quality, and I love my Galaxy Nexus, but I just like Motorola's better.
I'm also hoping to see something that excites me at CES, but I won't have anything but a Nexus device. I want something that I know developers will be paying attention to and not some off the wall device that might get one or two custom ROMs.

I understand, I've used Motorola several years ago before the smartphone era and they were some really good phones, but there's no other brand I would prefer but Samsung when it comes to phones, and I'm leaning that way for the tablets as well.
And totally, I'm actually looking forward to see Samsung's new announcement which it's most likely going to be a reveal for S 4, but still I'll wait to see if it isn't a new tablet that could be worth waiting for. And that Samsung Note 10.1 is really tempting me lol.

Who knows when it will actually be released, much less if the rumor is true. I'm sure good things will come from Motorola eventually but probably not for another year. If Motorola comes out with a mind bogglingly good tablet then I'll sell the Nexus 10 and grab it...I'm not going to hold my breath though.
Honestly, I can put up with the Nexus 10 not being perfect because its a Nexus device and I can build the OS from source, I know it will be supported for a good while, and its damned fast for browsing.
I've had 4 different tablets in the last year or so...none of them were perfect.

I love my n10 but I'll definitely be following the x tablet.

The challenge in waiting for "_________" is that by the time it hits the market there's already been a leak about the better "__________" that may be on the horizon (which we know moves). Asus announced the TF700 in January 2012 and it wasn't available for purchase until July. Samsung announced the Note 10.1 in February 2012, redesigned it after it was shown, and it launched in August. The N10 cleared the FCC in August and just recently was made available for purchase. Moral of the story: buy what you like now, take good care of it so you can resell it for a decent price, and buy what's "new" when it's at least up for pre-order. When leaks come out about products in development with nothing but design direction there's usually a long wait until they actually hit the market (EG: whatever Motorola's theorizing). When you start to see component leaks and shots by Mr. Blurry Cam that means it's closer but can still mean months.
I might depending what its like but im not a fan of Motorola so i doubt it will be something attractive.
From what I've read, the X devices are not part of the Nexus brand, they're 100% Motorola. Don't expect stock Android and direct updates from Google- or, well, now that Moto is part of Google, I mean direct updates from the Android team.
Nope... because every article States the thing silk probably not be out for a year or two. Wonder if x though is like nexus. The x is the prominent letter and even the bout animation logo. I've been waiting for Google to do something with Motorola for awhile. Google could rectify their horrible business plan easy. Now that Samsung is owning the market with android products and has made Asus a tablet leader outside Apple, I think it is now safe for them to throw their own subsidiary a bone and make a nice Google Motorola device. Might be to late on the end though.

I doubt they would waste an opportunity like that.
For all we know it will be called the NexusX.
I'm just glad I bought a device that will stand against several next best things in the future.

This. Ask any owner of an Atrix (myself), Photon or Electrify. They'll tell you just how great #motofail is in terms of software updates. You get ONE. Better hope your device ships with the latest version of the OS, because otherwise you just get bumped to the next major revision instead of anything near what is considered current and suddenly you're screwed, even if they promise you otherwise. The lack of proper kernel source means custom roms are unlikely to completely save you as well.
Still planning on getting my N10 in early January. If a more reputable company like Samsung were to announce something like the rumored X, I'd wait. But @#$%^ no for Motofail.

Anyone who tries to stay on the bleeding edge of a rapidly moving technology will be in this situation perpetually. Something better is always on the horizon. At some point you have to pull the trigger, even though something better has been announced, and may or may not be right around the corner. I tend to be an early adopter of generational improvements (A15 and super high res screen in the N10). There will be better devices in this category, but by the time you wait for the "perfect" device, the next generational improvement will be right around the corner. Until you accept this reality, you'll always have buyers remorse.
I wouldn't touch motorola with a 10 foot pole after the crappy end of life support debacle like the atrix 4g. This might be an exception since google will back it up. Never again Motorola!!!!
Per WSJ, X tablet will be after X phone, so it'll be a while.
The more interesting bit was that Viewdle (face-rec) should be incorporated, so we should see some aspect of AR in 5.0 release. Niche uses aside, AR hasn't had any wide application in an OS. AR would be Glass' main ace.
Though, I think 5.0's over-arching theme will be TV integration. Apple is making noises, and MS will intro X720. Goog can't afford to fall behind. Miracast should play a large part, not only to leverage TVs as big displays, but for tabs to act as 2nd screen.
Frankly, tablet hardware bores me now. It's MOTS. What's interesting are wearables, and Glass is supposed to make its debut in 2013. You can bet that both MS and Apple are burning the midnight oil on their own skunkwork response.
Depending on how versatile wearables (eye-top?) will be, the tablet may hit the skids as quickly as it got on. I'm thinking 2013 for the coming-out, and one or two years for the first retail product.
I personally will wait for a Nexus device with Miracast. I really hope the N10 will get Miracast after all...
It's either the Nexus 10 for me or a Quad core A15 / Nvidia tegra 4 tablet. Hope they get announced at CES/MWC
I don't do enough gaming to need a beefed-up graphics chip in the SoC in my tablet, so for me the Nexus 10 works fine. I'm a graduate student, so much of what I do is just reading PDFs, books, and magazines. I listen to music and watch YouTube, neither of which will be necessarily improved with a faster SoC. The screen on my Nexus 10 is brilliant and I couldn't be happier with what this tablet does for my needs. Plus, Samsung > Motorola. I know I may be in the minority here, but this thing is a Nexus, and it's made by Samsung, two things that I look for in a device.
