Should I upgrade it to 4.0.3?
Can I root it with 4.0.3 easyer?
Is it possible to downgrade 2.3.6 to something else, and how?

it depend on your phone what do i mean by this
upgrading is a good thing to fixed bugs but can sometimes be bad

I tried to make a little search to see if there's any topic that discuss if it's possible to upgrade the firmware of the Samsung Galaxy Note after it's been rooted. I just followed the steps that were described in This Topic using Mobile Pro Odin. I had an unrootable kernel version and it was JPLA1. So I had to flash and downgrade it to XXKJ1. After the flash was successful, I was impatient to root it and I forgot to upgrade the firmware, so I just rooted it. Now the question is it possible to Upgrade to firmware after it's been rooted ?
Android version: 2.3.5
Baseband version: XXLA4
Kernel version: XXKJ1

i used to have 4.0.3 rel5 rooted but i saw the 5a update and i updated. Now ii can't root it can i downgrade it? I wanna build custom roms...
4.0.3 r5a is not root able yet...

I would like to upgrade my Samsung Galaxy Pocket Plus GT-S5301 phone from Android 4.0.4 to Android 4.3 or higher because the application I want to use there supports Android 4.3 or higher builds but have no idea how. Can anyone please be so kind and post a step-by-step guide on how to do it?
The more details you post, the better, since I am a newbie when it comes to rooting/un-rooting etc...
