[Q] XXLPH sound + vibration sms notification not working! - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Sound + vibration sms notification not working in XXLPH and other stock samsung ICS builds. I can't get vibration notification to work when in sound mode (in silent it works but I want both!! ) In gingerbread roms there was a "Vibration always on" option, but I have looked through all settings in stock XXLPH settings / sms app and can't get **** to work! And NO, I don't wanna use another app since I like the stock one.
Anyone?

Install Sound Manager v2 from market->enter the app ->menu button->vibration->check your preferences.
Hope it helps

[Q] Rick's MIUI (1.12.9) and LED Notification

I decided "hey, I should probably update my MIUI" so I wiped data / cache / dalvik a million times, and installed Ricks MIUI.
I have no LED notifications for texts or whatever it may be, however before I upgraded I did. I see that in the new menu there is no "Trackball" or "LED notification" in the system settings anymore. I downloaded BLN to enable it and still nothing.
I just want my led to light up when I have a text or whatever.
Thanks!
Sometimes upgrading turns out worse than before. What version did you upgrade from, and is Rick's version different than the official releases over at MIUI?
I have rick's 12.9 MIUI and I am using BLN Control Pro and it is working.

Hm, I've tried BLN control (free) and blinky from the market and had mixed results. Blinky worked well, and allowed more control over the notification, but seemed to have a battery drain issue. BLN control only worked for one notification and stopped working after that.. I'm assuming you're running the glitch kernel that Rick's MIUI comes with?
I'm using Glitch V13 with Ricks MIUI, so yes. Before I had a JT kernal from 11/09 or something like that which worked perfectly
I think it might be kernel related then, I think I remember seeing sixstringsg say that there were going to be some changes to BLN in the next glitch release that should fix things. I suppose if you really need it, use that jt kernel. Personally, I couldn't deal with the color and lack of ability to change it with voodoo control on that kernel.
Glitch13 has the BLN notification bug, and CM7.1 has the in-call volume bug. Pick your poison.

[Q] Notification lght - Is it possible?

I'm just wondering whether it possible to somehow get the power button to pulse or another light on the front of the phone to pulse when you miss a call or text? Doesn't seem to be an app which exists (yet).
Is something I miss from my Nexus One!
Cheers.

Flash CF-Root kernel(latest is BlackHawk) or Z-Image kernel from the development section.. Then download BLN Control Free app from the market to get the lights flashing... You can also buy the BLN Control Pro app if u want..
P.S:- BLN stands for Back Light Notification..

Button-light actually
Awesome, thanks guys. I've done this and after some fiddling I've got it semi working... I'm however have trouble with the notification in regard to text messages. Any ideas why it's not working for text messages? I've tried both using the stock app and GO SMS Pro.
Missed phone calls are fine and it works perfect. I'm running stock 2.6.6.
EDIT: Solved it... someone in another thread suggested checking the screen on setting. I turned it off and it worked.

Silence features on S2 using RootBox ROM

I am currently using RootBox ROM on my S2 and it works like a charm, however it could do with some improvements!
I cannot find a way to silence my phone by turning it upside down when I receive a call!
Unless this feature is disabled from using the accelarator, please suggest a way!
Thanks in advance and big to the people who made the RootBox ROM.
Is root box rom based on stock or is it from aosp? If it is from stock then there will be a motion settings. Otherwise there are ways to emulate the same turn over and silence function. You could always create a profile in tasker which does the same. I used to do that but really it's not a must have feature. Pressing the power button or any of the volume keys does silences the ringer too
Sent from my Galaxy S too!

This is a feature of stock samsung firmware, or roms that are samsung based. RootBox is not one of these.

Although I know that this is not what you really want: You can disable all vibrations in ROM settings.
Or reduce the vibration intensity.
Sorry, but I don't know the what to change to keep all other vibration and only disable SMS delivery report vibration.

[Q] How to turn off notification while talking / calling ?

I have S3 and using JB 4.1.2.
The most annoying thing about notification is that when I am talking over the phone and if I get any message, I get the notification sound even when I am talking.
I want the notification sound but not while talking over the phone or while having conversation with someone...
How to solve this problem ?
