Sounds like its time for a return to the store, to me.
What ROM did you have?
Try to install the factory recovery and after a reboot go back into it. While in the factory recovery do a factory reset.
Let us know how that works.
I feel like a dummy lol...i had the overclocked kernel running with tpcs rom v2 and uninstalled the rom but forgot to update the libs since they came with the rom lol

I am trying to install the G Harmony ROM with BL 1.2[http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1007455]. The install of the ROM itself is very smooth. After flashing the ROM, I tried to flash the G-apps using the file provided in the OP. The install went on smoothly. On reboot, however, I don't see any Google apps in the system anywhere. Indeed, even Titanium Backup, which was working well before I flashed the G apps, tells me I am not rooted. I tried wiping data, cache, dalvik and fixing permissions, but same result every time. I even tried flashing the CM7 G-apps, but same results. Any ideas, anyone ?
I am in the identical situation with BL1.1 or 1.2. about to try Cyanogen just to see if it's my tablet or not.
Just tried the latest cyanogen mod 7.0.3 and latest gapps. No Gapps or market from that ROM either. Dunno what we are doing wrong. Do we have to wipe our Internal SD's? I used gapps-gb-20110613-signed from cyanogen...and still no apps/market.
I also just tried wiping my SD card (internal), and formatting system. Had to nvflash back to stock. Atttempted G-harmony again. Same results. No apps will install from GoogleApps-GRJ22. It's really strange, the install appears to go fine from clockwork, then there is just nothing there.
Here is what I did to get gapps.
install rom, run it once.
innstall gapps, run it, and the screen will ask for gmail account and password
after failing to connect, its going to ask if you wanna connect by wfi..
done deal.

@hungrymr2 - that is what is not happening. After flashing the ROM, I am flashing the G-apps. I would normally expect to see the google set up screen on reboot, but there is nothing - no set up screen, no G-apps.
Interesting, i think it happened to me before. I had to reinstall the rom or a different one.

Went back to CM7 for now.
Looks like the matter has come to the attention of the dev. Hopefully there will be a resolution soon.
Make sure you clear dalvik code and cache. Might be a good idea to format the internal sd as well. Just good practice to clear everything each time you install a new rom.
Hi.
I have "Project-V" rom for 1 year (I know its a lot of time )
I got new phone and I want to give my wife this phone.
As the phone is now little "Buggy" and I need to change everything include change the Gmail account on the phone so I decided that it will be better to just install new ROM.
I need rom fast and stable (gps etc... ) and people recommended to me for "BIONIX"
I know what is the installation process but is it better to revert to stock first before flash this rom?
Thanks.
No, you do not have to revert to stock before you flash because you are going from one 2.2 ROM to another. Just remember to wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache, etc.

You definitely don't have to, but it certainly couldn't hurt lol
no
No is the short answer but it never hurts especially if you are having issues. Also the xerxesI Rom with phone candy theme wad pretty nice!
hi,
No you don't need to go back to stock ..but as Xenoism said it certainly couldn't hurt. Make sure to wipe data/ factory reset, wipe cache and dalvik

I've been struggling with this for about a week and I am not able to figure this one out. I hope someone here can give me a hand.
I've unlocked my phone using HTCDEV and rooted using TWRP 2.4.3 gaining root and recovery access. All seemed to work well but every GOOGLE app crashes now on start up. I can't go to the market as it crashes "Unfortunately Google play store has stopped". It does this with all Gapps.
I've flashed the GAPPS through recovery since I can't access Play.Google. and it made no difference. I can't log in to Google accounts as soon as try it gives me "google account manager has stopped".
I've tried to RUU back to rom 3.16. but RUU fails to update the phone although the restoral screen shows the scrolling dots indicating it is updating, but it goes on forever. the bootloader shows "TAMPERED" "Unlocked" and this came after using FASTBOOT OEM LOCK command in an attempt to reflash the unit. I have tried to flash to other roms like CM10 but it only gets to the point of the spinning logo and just sits there and spins, etc. Other roms get stuck as well in the first boot up logo of the rom or give a black screen. I can use TWRP to restore the backup each time so the phone works seemingly ok except for anything with Gapps.
I assumed I can't not flash JB roms without S-off and I tried to use Dirty Racun to obtain S-off but I get errors with each step so gave up on that for now. I've resolved myself to sticking with the stock rooted rom but I can't do much without Google Voice which is my text and phone account.
Can anyone shed some light on this for me? I've searched the forums here and elsewhere for dozens of hours and have not been able to find a solution for this or any help that might help me "stumble" into a solution. I don't mind flashing another rom if I could get one to take hold just so I can get this unit working.
I think the TWRP recovery or a old verion of Superuser might have caused this glitch. I did the rooting and recovery using this guide here htcevohacks.com/htc-evo-4g-lte-root/how-to-root-htc-evo-4g-lte-unlock-bootloadertwrp-recovery and the provided TWRP would not accept any input so I replaced it with 2.4.3.0 and recovery then recovery seemed to work and backup/restore but still can't flash any roms successfully. I didn't notice Superuser v0.87 here as being old (my goof) and didn't get a more recent version until after the flashing was done. LIke I said, where I'm left at now is everything seems to work but anything having to do with Gapps just crashes on start.
Any help please?
Couple things you could do if you wanted a new rom. First go to the q&a section there is a sticky titled don't panic it will let you know to fast boot the bootimg for being son or find a rom that has son kernel installer for sense mean bean does

I had this issue today when I flashed viper 4g ROM before doing my s off. I tried every approach and what I ended up doing is a factory reset, cache wipe, D. cache wipe, Android secure wipe, sd ext. wipe (I always do the wipe 3x in a row on each) then I reinstalled my viper rom (comes with the latest google apps) and off I go. Solved all my google sign in related issues. You could also try to locate a downloadable version of goomanager which will automatically check for the latest version of gapps that is compatible with your rom and download it. Doesn't need to have a google playstore link to work either.

Thicklizard, Thanks, I'll check this out now. Are you saying the rom Mean Bean is a ROM and might take hold flashing it with my s-on situation? Is MeanBean an xda developers rom? I've always had good luck with just about everything from XDA, so would love to try it. My hope is a new rom would solve whatever "hell" my phone is stuck in. Thanks! I'll see if I can find it.

dominicsdad, I'm going to check out what was suggested about Mean Bean but I did try several JP type GB apps, etc. None of them would restore the function. THis has been so frustrating. I'm a guy that can folllow the posts and the guides I read, etc., but not having the core understanding or depth shows it's ugly face for a non-connected guy like me. WHy did you do an SD wipe? That's where I keep my backups which have been the only thing that has let me get back from a few botched rom attempts. I will try the goo manager if I can find a flashable version since I'm locked out otherwise with any kind of app install. I was surprised to see the EVO LTE didn't have a file manager as I was going to try and just install google voice which would at least allow me to use the phone.
THanks!

Thicklizard,
Update, I installed Mean Bean and solved my problem. It gave me a scare thinking it would backfire with the 2 duplicate rom installs it requires but I had to put some faith in something working and it worked. Thank you for getting me on the right track!!!!!! Bill
Hello everyone
I have installed pacman rom v23 like 2 months ago. There was no problem.Today i just wanted to choose a picture for notification background.I tried a picture. There was no problem. Then i chose another picture but it started to give an error "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped" When click ok in 10 seconds phone gives same error. It keeps like that. For now i chose phablet ui from paranoidandroid but i want to fix it.I don't want to wipe anything because it takes a lot to reinstall apps and other stuffs.
Please help me.
Reflash rom with no wipe. Will give you stock kernel but should finggers crossed fix the problem with system ui. If not factory reset is the way forward. But Back up you're apps with titanium bkup then reset.

Thank you,I will try that.but before it I want to be sure if there is no other way.
While tablet uis and phablet ui are working properly, stock ui isn't working.isn't there any way to create a new ui or reset the stock ui?
I really don't want to flash or wipe anything.
Try just flashing with out wipe first.

Alliance rom
I have been running various flavors of AOKP ROM's on SG3's for several years now. I recently obtained a refurb S3 and set it up to do the usual.
It came with stock TW 4.4.
Using ROM Manager I installed CWM and made an image of the stock phone. I then installed my AOKP variant and loaded my apps, blah blah. All is good.
I've since decided I want to revert back to TW for awhile. I restored my nandroid and I get the interminable GAPPS failure messages. I have on occasion been able to get it to calm down and have a working phone, usually be uninstalling play app and clearing framework services cache. This is extraordinarily painful and doesn't always work. I've done all the usual, reinstall GAPPS, etc., and basically it is a MAJOR headache just trying to get the image to function.
But....When it does work the phone does not see my SIM card, IMEI, nothing.. I have no mobile connectivity. Restoring the AOKP nandroid brings me back to a fully functioning phone.
So my questions are:
Can anyone explain to me why the TW nandroid is giving all these GAPPS issues and how to circumvent/fix it?
Why is the system seeming to lose my IMEI/SIM info? Is there a way to fix that? Should I have done something different in my setup/nandroid creation?
Lastly - I don't quite understand how CWM works. There is a recovery image. When I do factory reset, is it resetting to this recovery image as opposed to the factory TW? I seem to think so, when I do a reset I see the android version is not what my factory one is.
Thanks all.
