Pull battery, plug usb into computer, hold volume down, then while holding volume down plug usb into phone...
I'll also point you to droidstyles guide in the fascinate general section. It's a must read for new owners

You could try making a jig. Google jig for download mode. And it might work if you plug your charger into the wall, and with the phone off and battery out, hold volume down and plug the charger in.

Ill do some research on jig.. And I've tried every combo of battery in and out.. Is there anyway to force push a custom recovery through adb? Or force it into download mode using adb or an app or something? I can get into the stock recovery..

I think your issue stems from a stuck power button.. So when you try getting into download mode your actually pressing volume down and power.. That combo just won't work.. try to get that power button fixed and all should be well.

The problem is, even with unbrickable mod, you need to press the power button to get the processor into flash mode.. Him having a possible stuck power button will not be helped by doing that.
Sent from my SCH-I500 using xda premium
Right. Well then I guess first step is to disassemble and see if some cruft has settled in between the power button and contact. then while youre in there....might as well make it unbrickable. =)

OK so recently my phone has not woken up from when it is unlocked. I've tried waiting and I've tried pressing it harder, multiple times etc, but nothing happens. I just end up resorting to a battery pull. This has just been starting this past week. I am running stock gingerbread no root. Should I be concerned? Has anyone else experienced this with their note?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I717 using XDA
i guess no one else has this issue?
If you are running stock without root and you have this issue then you should be concerned. Does a battery pull fix it? Do you have some memory hogging apps running in the background? Have you tried a factory reset? All else fails contact ATT for a replacement.

Op says stock gingerbread no root!
factory reset if it doesnt fix the problem, ATT RMA
So, I rooted my GS3 with this method http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XoEVDgjTTdg&list=PL7011CD883D5201B8&index=12&feature=plpp_video
Everything went perfectly and was successfully rooted.
I then made a backup of my phone.
I tried installing a rom and it had errors, so I restored my phone and it was successfully stored and hit restart phone.
Thats where I am at now. The phone shut off, and wont turn back on. I have it on the charger and there is no charging light, nothing. tried pulling the battery, entering recovery. Nothing works.
I have no idea what happened or how to get my phone back on.
Please help.
Thank you.
How about download mode and install the stock ROM?
I cant get into downloads mode either.
Nothing works.
I plug in the phone to my pc and it recognizes it.......sort of.
Doesnt show as a device to transfer files, etc.
Any other suggestions?
This is so frustrating.

Tried that.
Even waited 10 minutes
Was your phone charged enough or did the battery run out while u were flashing?
Try putting just the battery in the freezer for a few minutes in a plastic bag.10 min perhaps. And then try to charge it. If charging light comes on, let it charge well before turning on phone. Make sure its not wet when u put it back in phone.

You haw international version of Sgs3 ???
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda premium
The battery was around 40 %
I even tried putting the phone on the charger for 10 minutes and still nothing.
Phone wont boot at all.
What rom you whant t flash???

I was trying this one, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1738527 but it failed.
So I restored my phone from a backup.
The charge light not comming on, phone not turning on is independent of the phone os. Try putting battery in freezer for a few minutes and then try to charge.

No I dont.
I just realized that there were 2 different forums.
1 for sprint at&t, etc, then the GSM ones.
Probably why the rom didnt flash and then aborted.
Either, way, I then wiped everything and then restored from my factory rom.
It said it was successfull, and I hit restart.
Now my phone does nothing.

So I unfortunately ended up with the charging bug.
When I put my phone In the wall charger it doesnt want to charge. The charging indicators all turn on but I still lose battery.
I've tested the cord and charger on my friends phone and they work. I've also put in a different battery with the same result. Also booted into safe mode.
Help?

I would try reverting back to stock, and if that doesn't work, then i would get a replacement. Sounds like a hardware issue.
I'm using one of the recent CM nightly builds and suddenly i can't boot. I noticed youtube updated right before it happened. I can't even boot into recovery. The samsung logo comes up but then nothing happens. Am I screwed? I wanted to wait for the nexus 5 before I upgrade
If you can see the Samsung logo, and the device vibrates, hopefully you're ok. You might have a stuck power button. It happens a lot. Try tapping it a bunch of times rapidly, or flicking the back with your finger.
Have you tried getting into download mode?

Hah, I guess that was it. The power button doesn't seem like it is stuck, but if I hold it down until the samsung log appears, then rapidly tap it, the boot completes. Thanks for the tip! Hopefully I can get this thing to last until October.
