we can verify that using your phone, remove the battery and look for something similar to 11W34 on the sticker.

ok i stand that corrected ....
Ummm last I checked the lineup wasn't determined by when your phone was manufactured but rather when it was released.
Since the NeoV was released last year that would make it a 2011 phone.

Rooting status
Bootloader unlock allowed: yes means your phone is not branded and fast boot is enabled.boot loader can be unlocked via official method(or any other free method)
Rooting status
Bootloader unlock allowed: no means your phone is branded and fast boot is disabled.boot loader can be unlocked only via paid methods like SETool2.
Non of these means if its 2011 or 2010 or 2012 model

May i ask something ???
My phone has 2.0.A.0.504 .. I have restore my phone with se companion and it has already by it self the new market..
2.0.2 vs 2.0 .1 its sound good maybe the froyo is the next release
Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk
plz can u explain this fr what this site stands fr??
I don't think so
If they release the SE PSP they will not update X10 anymore
The playstation will be released on April so End of Q1 2011 is exacly as they says so That gona be gratefull if they give as Mulit-touch. I dont sure about froyo and I dont dream about gingerbread.
That is a pesymistic thinking and more realistic because if we analize the last upadate which take all most one year I going to suspect that we will get any update next Chistmas
Really not that bothered if they never release another update as long as they unlock the bootloader so the devs can start cooking up some real good stuff.
First off, there's no info what so ever to what that firmware is about. Just because one firmware is taken off from an unofficial list does not mean the official is canceled, it is still available in EMMA so it will continue forward.. There WILL be another update, there will NOT be any cancellation to the next update.

That's unrelated. You can use flashtool to update, see the sticky in the dev section.
Have you tried updating your .fw OTA?

Flashtool.
Nice, you have brown phone. Remove battery and check on sticker on phone, most likely you will see prototype
you can try with SEUS, I don't expect it to work but you can try.
Don't know if flashtool supports brown phones, I would first ask creator of flashtool. I expect it to work, but ask first
if it says prototype, I would first check what fw is on the phone, is it branded, what region.
some prototypes can die if you flash new fw on them.

Well, not really a big worry. Some people want to have prototypes
Prototypes, from phone models which actually released, meaning you can find that phone model in store, can sometimes be final products, meaning even though they are prototypes, they can be flashed and used like other units. I have one W715, it's final version of prototype, so it can be flashed, but it wasn't in store
Prototypes, from phone models which aren't released are more likely tricky, it need to be careful with them.

Thanks for replying doomlord. Can I root it easily? would I need to upgrade it to 4.4.2 stock oem rom first?
OTA update doesn't show any firmware updates available (which I know is common for prototype phones)
No, just keep yourself on the current firmware and:
- Root using Bin4ry's root tool
- Backup the TA partition
- Update to the latest firmware (.757) using Flashtool
- Unlock the bootloader using Flashtool
- Root by flashing Jackie's kernel
All the steps are here.

Thanks Lord Manhattan. None of the root solutions worked (bin4ry's root tool, kingoroot, 1 click root, and vroot.
***UPDATE*** after running the program 3 more times it finally worked (Kingoroot was the program that worked...I think) I am going to try to do the rest of the process.
***UPDATE 2*** Got the 1st unit done. Now I have 4 more to do. Thanks DoomLord & Lord Manhattan.
3 of them are already updated to .757/rooted/bootloader unlocked/and custom recovery installed. 2 more to go.

That's what I thought too. I have had quite a few prototype / engineering sample phones and most of them are locked down pretty hard.
When they boot up they say "this device is a prototype. Accordingly it collects and sends usage information to Sony Mobile in order for us to improve the device."
On the back of the devices they had the sony name and the xperia logo covered with black tape. On the front they had a silver tape 5 digit number covering the sony name. They were represented to me to be prototypes. Maybe they were internal close to final prototypes.
Also Antutu installs and runs which other Z Ultra prototypes would not install or run. It would pop up and warn you (as Sony didn't want the specs leaked) I can screen cap or post any of the info from 1 of the non-upgraded units.

I think the bootloader is unlocked as I flashed the jackie kernel to 3 of them and in the "about info" it shows jackies kernel. The service menu shows "bootloader unlocked"
I sent the IMEI's to the Sony Dev site and they sent back the bootloader unlock codes (which I unlocked using the flashtool)
I didn't know if I would be violating forum rules by even mentioning selling one.
Also, so far none of them have shown any weird prototype behavior.

Nah, I don't think you're breaking any rules. You didn't steal them, so you're on dry ground (I think). The bootloader is indeed unlocked, but I would've flashed a generic and official firmware to get rid of the prototype status. Who knows what tracking services and stuff like that is running on those things.
@DooMLoRD is probably interested in some files or something before you flash anything?

Did you try ota update? Try with pcc instead. Ota's take longer to reach the consumer. Also did you buy an unlocked phone or from a network? If from a network then updates get passed to them first so that they can put all their bloatware on it before releasing. Some operators take months on their updates.
