I would like to hide the status bar on my Neo.
I know that some apps do that like adw.launcher, but what I'd like is to change android source code in order to hide the status bar.
I think it's almost impossible. Devs for Launcher7 have done many efforts to try that, but didn't succeed. Try killing the statusbar sevice apk in the apps menu or with TiBu.
Edit: I can remember I once had the statusbar force closing, and didn't have a statusbar anywhere, but some other service might also stop running.
Use go launcher, it has that option!

Half of the launchers (AFAIK: ADW, Launcher7, LauncherPro, Go, ssLauncher...) have that option, but I think OP want's it outside of the launcher too.
Yes Go Launcher has this option.
You can add gestures and with a single slide to a chosen direction hide the status bar.

you could try honeybar. It may or may not work, only one way to find out.
I cant link you to it because its not allowed on this forum. Im sure you know of places to look for it though.

*** Important note for ICS users: Honeybar is unsupported on ICS and will not hide the UI bar. I have examined the source for ActivityManagerService and it currently appears impossible to stop com.android.systemui

ADW Ex has this option I think. I haven't used it in awhile though. I'm not sure if the free version does or not.

Hello,
I also try to hide the status bar of Ice Scream Sandwich, I tried HideBar, Honey
Hide Widget, GoLauncher etc ... they do not work with Ice Scream Sandwich.
Did you find a solution?
Thank you.
PS: Sorry for my English, I'm French.
It's built in. Add a launcher action to the desktop called "hide status bar". Then click the new icon to toggle the status bar on or off. Then delete the icon when satisfied.

Could you please tell this in more detail? In my Android 4 ICS there is no "launcher action".
When you say menu bar ... do you mean the bottom home, recent and back buttons at the bottom (status bar)?
if so try GMD Gesture control (paid) and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28694868 is a free version for just hiding the status bar GMD Hidebar and it should support ICS
Why are you still on ICS though, may i ask ?
Hi there, noob question, just checking - is there any way to hide navigation keys and make the status bar transparent without the root? /I think not/. I'll do a root for this purpose if I have to, but could anyone please navigate me as what to do next? Don't want to go custom rom, so I guess once rooted I go for some app that hides the navigation keys and makes the status bar transparent? Sorry if this is really basic, don't have any experience with this.
Root needed

Ya you need to root your phone to hide the nav bar.
After you're rooted, use this app to configure which application you want to go fullscreen
Use this application to hide the nav bar on google play : Full!screen
When 4.4 is available for Sony Xperia Z Ultra, you can make the navigation bar and/or status bar transparent. Numerous launchers offer now the ability to hide the status bar. No root required.
You can do as I do. Use the Xposed module Tinted Statusbar. This is how my statusbar and navbar looks like.
Or you can use one of several other modules that also does the job just fine.

HI, I would like to ask if someone know in which file are stored shortcuts to Qslide apps which are in status bar. I want add some apps from G2 (which support Qslide) to this bar.

Well, on my p768g, when I was on stock, all I had to do was to pull down my notifications area, and scroll that ribbon that holds the QSlide apps all the way to the right, the last icon was the settings option, there you could add/remove apps that supported QSlide.
Hope that helps!
Id test it right now but Im rolling Resurrection Remix ROM and it rocks c:

You mean the app drawer? To change its icon you will have to use custom launcher. You cannot change it in stock launcher. Nova launcher is good. Try that.

Hi, dont't know If I mean what you mean, but in Comunity bulid is located inside "Launcher3.apk" in "\res\drawable-xxhdpi-v4\" and there are two files: "ic_allapps.png" and "ic_allapps_pressed.png". Is it what are you looking for?
Flash CyanogenMod.....It runs smoothly and there are more features like customisation than oxygen os
