I have need for speed hot pursuit, madden 12, and sim city I purchased from the market they all download, install and play fine on my captivate, but they won't download data the additional data on the flyer. Sim city and madden get to the download part and stay on 0% the whole time, hot pursuit says there is a server error and closes. What's the deal here? Anyone else have this problem?

I just attempted to use live chat for the issue. I tried Need for speed hot pursuit, and it didn't have the android version as an option for support, so I just selected PC, and when I got in the chat I told him I don't have an issue with the PC version, I am having an issue with the Android version, and he eventually told me he esculated the issue to the appropriate department and they'll contact me by e-mail within the next 24 hours...so yeah i got nowhere.
If there's anything I learned from EA, its that they don't take android seriously at all. Their support is terrible, and they literally let their games be broken for months before they release a patch that fixes the issue, but breaks many other aspects of the game. I actually uninstalled NFS shift on my Captivate because of that. One update broke the steering, and a month went by without a patch, and then they finally updated it, and after the update it no longer worked on my phone, force closed everytime I tried to race. I eventually just uninstalled it.
This is irritating though...I was looking forward to playing these games on a large screen!

Even that doesn't always work...
EA is making me mad. I mean I also contacted Rockstar on why GTA 3 isn't showing up in the market, and I got an e-mail back from them in an hour explaining they are testing it on a per device basis and haven't made it available to the flyer yet because they haven't tested it yet. I also contacted Gameloft yesterday about Nova 2 not showing up in the market and they contacted me back today stating it was an error with the market, and gave me a link for a direct download. EA? I e-mailed them 2 days ago and I've heard nothing back!
IF I had to guess I'd say alot of developers figure there aren't a whole lot of honeycomb devices anyway and Android is moving on to ICS anyway so they just didn't bother to port or get there stuff working right on honeycomb. I"m thinking ICS will fix most of the issues.
Well, I moved back to gingerbread to get my games working. I found a launcher that looks great on gingerbread (see picture near the end of the themes page)- and i haven't looked back.
Btw, would you be able to share the link for nova2? I bought it for my cappy, but it doesn't show up in my market. Actually wanted a tablet to enjoy that game better. I stopped playing it till I got a tab. Then it wasnt available!! Grrrr

Yeah its seeming thats the only way. I really do like honeycomb alot though, hate to go back. I just tried cutting and pasting the sim city game data from my captivate to the flyer, and it fires up, shows the ea logo, and then instantly closes. I think I give up for now. Would be nice if EA wern't such sorry asses and would fix this stuff, but apparently for now the only way is to downgrade to gingerbread.
I found a link on Google that had the additional data for sims. I researched the nan issue when downloading to find it. But id think the captivate one would work anyway. Someone's I wish I could dual boot hc or gb.

So If I revert to gingerbread, and install all my ea games and download all the data, and then upgrade to honeycomb, will all my ea games work?
has anyone got any further with this? Because I have been trying to get NFS Hot pursuit for ages and all I get is sever error 5002.

I found one for worms after I got NaN error and it worked great.
I'm using a Sony Xperia s. And really want to get this game to work.

I went through the pains of setting up an EA account in order to ask them about the NaN issue on the Sims game. Here was their glorious reply:

Oh god yes ea doesn't take their mobile division seriously at all. You have to email and wait for a response. You can't use live support or call them. And if you email them using the developer contact information in the Google play store they tell you to go to their support site. I never even got a response from them but you just got a canned answer anyway. Makes me wanna boycott their mobile games honestly

I've been through the same old rigmorole with EA games.
Most games work on my Sensation XE, but not on the Flyer.
They're development department can't be bothered to make these games work on the flyer in my opinion.
Tiger Woods 12 and Bejeweled 2 would be awesome on the Flyer.

Really screw ea, the issue is ea not the flyer. They pretty much have an email account no one checks for mobile support. You can call them or use live chat for consoles and pcs but they really don't care about mobile games

I downloaded Dungeon Defenders today, rebooted my phone, loaded the game, and it crashes every time I try to play it for more than 5 minutes or so. The game runs veryyy smooth thanks to our processors and GPU speed, but it simply crashes for no reason at random times. Anyone else have this problem?
I'm having the same problem, and I really want to play this game lol.
Trendyent recognizes the problem and says they are trying to fix it but I don't see a fix soon =(
yup same problem here, i emailed them about it and they said they are trying to get a couple units from HTC to test on. They had me send a logcat of the crash. so hopefully that will help.
I think that game is made only for Tegra 2 phones
I have the same issue with Dungeon Defenders and lots of other apps. At first I thought it was the phone, so exchanged it. 3rd one is doing the samething.
Dang, at least I'm not the only one having problems. I know it isn't Tegra 2 exclusive because the Desire HD, Droid 2, etc. are supported and same with even the OGVO. It's also a problem with our sister phone, the Sensation. I hope they patch this soon because when it was running on my phone it was siiiilky smooth.

Have you heard the horror stories of how gameloft treats its employees?
Obviously a company like that isn't worried about making a game work on more devices. Its about making new games to sell for higher price.
i dont think it's the game's fault. I think its more likely to be an issue with the phone's rom. whilst the phone has 1gb of ram (dundef only needs 256) the new sense 3.0 uses up wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much memory. I mean. With ALL my apps killed (as many as possible) there is still only about 200-300mb of ram free(this is on a custom rom as well). On stock roms i remeber i only got less than 200mb of free ram and htc has made sure the oom lowkiller will not kill any sense stuff(launcher, lockscreen and so forth).
so maybe the oom lowkiller is killing dungeondefenders.

That's interesting. Is anyone running CM or any AOSP rom that can try to run the game on the Evo 3D?
I'm trying to find a tutorial I came across on here that tells you how to alter the build prop on your phone so that the market (and apps, I assume?) think your phone is a Tegra device. I can't find it, though. You guys think that would make a difference in this case?

Before I changed to Honeycomb I bought Asphalt6 Nova2. Both games now don't work with honeycomb. Any solutions?

Are you able to side load them? Build.prop edits may help. Also curious if order and chaos works after upgrade. If not it will be like HTC gave me a nice new car but took a dump on the drivers seat

LOL! awesome metaphor. HTC isn't giving Honeycomb just yet. Maybe by the time the do release the official version, they will get these games to work. Also, the Devs here seem to be great at detailing your new ride. Give them time and I am sure they will get the poop out and hang a pine scented air freshener.

Since the Flyer is not on the Gameloft supported devices list one has to make sure to buy games compatible with the Flyer's US cousin Evo View 4G. Asphalt 6 HD 3.01 works great on the Flyer under HC, Nova 2 FC's after the video introduction unfortunately.
Well when you goto gamelofts website on your device it shows it as the evo view and shows you a list of games that are compatable with "your" device....
That said I don't think this is HTC's fault... see my rant about gameloft here

What ROM are you on? I tried it on both MIUI with less than stellar results (choppy framerate) and on VirusROM which is performing great ATM.

I installed it yesterday, It's running nicely. Stock ROM rooted GSM. It's one of the games I'm actually enjoying and have a problem putting down.
Mine works on CM7 alpha. But no sound.

Tonight I Experienced a small glitch where I couldn't exit the game through the menus. I had to press the home button, open to task manager and kill it. Luckily I had saved just prior.
Ok, so I dl'ed from the game "other means" cause I wanted to play it lol. I can't wait for this to officially be supported for us so i can buy and have support and updates.
And please don't pm me to send you the apk, ill ignore it. Just posting another confirmation this game works great.

This is the debate that never ends, but my two cents: Honeycomb is great on the Flyer. You won't notice the loss of the capacitive buttons, and the on screen buttons will soon seem natural.
Plus, the ability to use the pen in any application is great, as is the superior handling of bluetooth keyboards (if you ever find yourself using one).
I'm 100% pro Honeycomb on the Flyer.
How do you plan to use it? For games honeycomb status bar don't go away. Many have complained of accidentally touching it during game play and losing their work. Also, if you use kindle and/or nook app, the honeycomb bar also don't go way. Therefore, you lose screen restate. In other words, if you need the maximum amount of space DON'T UPGRADE TO HONEYCOMB

I upgraded, and found I missed the phone ability. I'm now running leeDroid's HC and am a happy camper again. The loss of BT phone isn't a huge deal for me, as I only plan to use the phone part while traveling overseas and speakerphone is fine.
But aside from the phone, HC is a thing of beauty on the Flyer.
Ill upgrade when more apps are HC/ICS friendly. I use the Flyer for movies and occasionally for notes. Currently HBOGO's lack of compatibility is keeping me from upgrading.

I've found a few apps that hide, for lack of a better term, from me in the Market. Most seem to have been uploaded here, so they don't stay hidden long. But it can be a little annoying. Fortunately, since we can download from here directly onto the phone memory, it's only 1 additional hoop to jump through.
Anyone know why games like EA dead space and mass effect I open, seem to start, and then close? Does the resolution need to be changed?
Also if rooted, removing Swype and installing Swype beta and dragon works great.

With modern combat 3, I restored the old one I had for the eVo 3d. Use I think it's the 1.1 apk. The newest version don't work. It's the opposite for gta3, download the newest one.

Ran into the same problems. I sent an email to the developers to see if i get a response. Just send the developer an email and if they get enough they will fix it. They wont know unless you *****!
It should be noted that gameloft forces you to buy a new game for a new device they donot support moving games to your new device. Go to www.gameloft.com on your elte and you will see there are only five gameloft games that function with it and you likely need that specific apk

That is super dumb. Gameloft is pretty much forcing customers to pirate their new games, I mean, who is going to pay for the same game twice just because they upgraded phones? Not me.
I contacted gameloft and they sent me the games I purchased (that are currently compatible) from my 3d.
Unfortunately the two I have (nova 2 and mc3) are having issues downloading additional data but atleast I don't get an incompatibility message anymore, lol.
