[Q] Lower Minimum Media Volume - Atrix 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have my Atrix rooted, and am running Morrisoft V0.7 which applies 30 steps to media volume. But even on the lowest setting, I find that the volume when listening to music is a little too high for my taste. Is there a way to lower the minimum volume? I've read that using preamp in PowerAmp helps achieve this a bit, but I'd rather stick with using the stock music player.

Very Low Media Audio

I'm coming from a D1 and was used to its speaker volume. I've noticed that in most all apps (skype, youtube, sirius xm) my Tbolt's output volume is pretty low. I've got the slider up as high as it goes, and it doesn't come close to the output of my last phone. Is this something with the ROM I'm running? Are people with stock phone's noticing the same problem? Is there a setting I'm missing?
Thanks
Did you change the media volume in sound settings or just the overall volume of the phone?

[Q] Music too loud

Hi there
For my taste when playing some music on my SGS3 (via headphones -> in-ear) I think that the volume is way too high even on the lowest volume steps.
I used SiyahKernel since it has this "voodoo implementation" that enabled to lower the volume. Now I'm using another kernel without this "voodoo stuff" and I'm looking for some MODs or Apps that might help me to lower the volume....
Are there any MODs or Apps available for this? I'm playing music via PowerAmp.
--> All currently Mods seem to enable even higher volume on the device... but none to lower the volume :-(

Seems like I'm the only one with the problem of having too high low-volume? Or are my ears just that good?
Well I use my S3 to listen to music and the volume levels seem to be fine as they are. Trying tweaking the equalizer if you feel the volume levels are too high
Sent from my GT-I9300 using xda app-developers app
On Siyah kernel read the instructions and lower sound level via EX Tweaks app .
Latest Siyah has lower than stock sound level as default .

[Q] music player with independent volume level

Hi.
Are there music player apps for android that have an option in the settings that allows the application to set the volume level independent
of other music player apps?
The idea is that I want to play music in one audio player at a relatively low volume, while playing an audiobook in a different audio player
at a higher volume level.
So far most of the apps I've tried only seem able to access the main volume level that applies to all apps (like BSPlayer and jetAudio).
greetings and thanks in advance for any suggestions, Niek
Did you try PowerAmp ?
I'm not 100% sure the volume control is independant tho.

I didn't try poweramp yet, but I'm interested if someone can confirm whether poweramp indeed has an option for this in the
settings that allows the volume of poweramp to be set independent of the main volume.
Maybe I can find out by installing the trial version...

Given that there are so many volume manager apps, you'd expect there to be at least one that offers the capability to manage
the volume of specific apps, rather than managing the generic 'media volume' that applies to all apps.

I can testify that you can do this with PowerAmp. In the EQ settings it has a preamp slide, which will allow you to make it louder or quieter independent of system volume.

That is indeed a kind of partial solution. jetAudio also has preamp slider and that significantly reduces the volume relative to the volume level
of other audio apps, but it doesn't seem the perfect solution, compared to actually having a regular volume slider that only applies to a specific app, because I think that would allow the volume to be set even lower than the preamp slider allows.
Still, good to know poweramp also has such a preamp slider. I guess it can also be used in combination with reducing all the EQ settings to get the volume down even lower.

Any way to get a volume or EQ that works only on specific apps (like Spotify)?

Are there any volume or EQ apps or hacks that can work on a specific app (say Spotify) or media only and not affect the whole phone? I often want to listen at a lower volume than the lowest stock phone volume (I've got the tinnitus). Sucks that Spotify removed the inbedded volume control.
I've been using an EQ app (Music Volume EQ) with the settings lowered for listening to music but it affects the whole phone (earpiece, speaker, alerts etc.) and I've slept through an alarm when the EQ was on and I didn't realize it.

[Q] How to derease minimum volume on an android phone ?

Hi guys,
i've been looking for a way to make the lowest volume even lower, and managed to get that by using sound mods like V4A, using the output gain, but the counterpart is that it also lowers the maximum volume... i don't know if i'm clear but maybe an example will be better:
I like to fall asleep listening to audiobooks, at a very low volume level, and by default, even at the first step, i find the volume too high, so with V4A, i set the output gain to something like -20.0db, and with that i'm fine.
But i'm often using a GPS (waze to name it), and with the -20.0db output, i can barely ear the instructions, so i have to go through V4A and reset the output gain.
So my question is, is there a way to lower the minimum output volume without lowering the maximum output ?
Or maybe, a way to change the gain depending on the foreground app ?
I tried to look at tasker, but could not find a way to change any value in V4A with it...
Thanks for reading, and i'm kinda surprised there's no similar topic, maybe i'm the only one finding the lowest volume too high on android phones.
Have a great day !
