[Q] Slow tethering - HTC Titan

I get around ~5Mb (600KB/s) download on my phone (tested via "Bandwith" App) with HSPA.
With tethering, my laptop will at best reach 80KB/s
Have you experienced this ?
My laptop is perfectly fine, and others users with same carrier reported high speed with tethering on iPhone / Samsung Galaxy S2

Had the same problem. Tracked it down to my windows XP laptop and iPod touch having slow tethering.

On my Windows 7 laptop and Kobo Vox (Android) ereader speeds where as expected.

[Q] HD2 Internet + Network Sharing + XboX Live

Ok guys , Ive currently had to cancel my internet due to lack of funds. But im still on contract with TMobile and have internet via my HD2 via them. Now i play XBox Live and i know for a fact its possible through internet sharing i can use Live with my HD2.
Reasons for this are :
1. TMobile / 3 / O2 Dongles are WIDELY used for people using broadband to connect and thus after sharing have a steady connection via to online game.
2. I managed to get some connectivity via WinXP on my VMachine.
Now what im asking is simple , can anyone help me get sharing stable and working for Window 7 or Windows Vista?
The reason im asking is because the connection im using is a RNDIS connection so the networks cant be bridged. Leaving me no connectivity.
Only other thing i can think of is using it was a wireless router and connecting wirelessly to it , then sharing it to the 360.
Now before i get flamed saying ITS NOT POSSIBLE , and OMG PHONE INTERNET SUCKSSSSSSSS. Ill give you a run down. Many of my gaming buddies use a dongle + laptop + Xbox setup and game very well. Having a 3 - 4 bar out of 5 strength. When using speedtests they are running 1 - 1.5mbps internet.
When i run a speedtest with my HD2 connecting via USB wire , Max i managed to get from Tmobile was a 4mb connection , im actively stable at 2mbps , downloading at roughly 200 - 240 KBPS. Which is optimum. I get more Upload speed from my HD2's mobile internet than my old BT 10MB broadband , BT was 47KBPS up , TMobile is 82KBPS up.
Thanks for looking and any advice given.

[Q] can't see my HD2's wifi hotspot

Been running WMWifiRouter on my HD2 (TMo, WM6.5) for over a year with little problem, serving as my home computer's Internet connection. Just bought a Viewpad 7, and want to serve its wifi connection similarly. Nothing I can do on either device causes the HD2 wifi hotspot to be seen by the Viewpad 7. I also downloaded and tried the XDA's WiFiRouter, with same results. The Viewpad 7's wifi is working fine - - it can see lots of other wifi hotspots. Any suggestions?
Answer, plus another Q (can't see my HD2's wifi hotspot)
I just got this answer from a similar post on PCCGeeks forum:
your windows mobile creates adhoc WiFi, which supported by full blown OS, like windows xp. android does not recognize this type of network. however, iOs devices can see ad hoc.
the only tablet on the market that can see the network created on your hd2 is the iPad
Oh. Darn. That is bad news. Hmmm... what if I changed my HD2 to run Android (I see lots of forum activity that seems to say that is superior and relatively easy to do, am I right?) If I do that, is there an Android app for the HD2 that would create a wifi hotspot that the Viewpad 7 can see? Surely there's a solution for these 2 pieces of hardware. I'd rather not have to get a SIM with cell phone service for the Viewpad 7, because that's a $30+ a month "solution".

[Q] problem with tethering to win7 but not linux or android

Over the last couple of days I have had lots of trouble connecting to the internet with my win 7 laptop using the wireless tethering option on my galaxy s2 read all the forums on it and notice that no one has a fix during this time I noted that my XOOM has no trouble up until I tried with the laptop this got me thinking so I got out my daughters laptop that is running kubuntu 11 and that has no issues surfing over the phones wireless tethering switch on my win 7 laptop and all three now have no internet and the tethering app has an error when you try to switch it off, reboot phone leave my win 7 laptop off and linux laptop and android XOOM connect to wireless tethering again with no problems surfing. I try this same scenario with my wife laptop and same thing. Now just a note the wife daughter and son all have the huawei and we can all connect to the internet via wireless tethering on all devices so what gives

[Q] tether two android phones to a single laptop for faster connection speeds on eith

Hi guys, I haven't found a good method through my usual search methods, and I was wondering if anyone might know if this is possible. I want to be able to tether two android phones simultaneously to my laptop while traveling or at my siblings youth football games so I can still do my school work (I multitask). I want to do this for increased speeds so places I only have one or two bars it doesn't take five minutes just to load a single site. My laptop dualboots windows 7 and Ubuntu 12.04. Also my phone (LGOG) is rooted with USB and wifi tethering already unlocked. The second phone will either be a HTC Evo 4G ( soon to be upgraded to the LTE version) or a friends phone that I can root if need be. Both on sprint. If this is possible either using wifi tethering, USB tethering, or a combination of both this will help me greatly. Thanks.

If you have found a way to do this, let me know. I've found next to nothing online about tethering two phones at once. Microsoft's Cool-Tether seems like a possibility but after it was announced back in 2009, it never really went anywhere.
