I have just bought my mates SGS2 which has got which is on vodafone, i got home and tried my O2 sim in it and it works
The question is, is the phone unlocked or is does O2 sim cards work in vodafone SGS2's?

mmm...i think it is unlocked! the second opinion seems so strange...
O2 is not Vodafone network so its unlocked .

Unless he unlocked it himself its highly likely that he got the phone from phones4u or a shop similar, these are GSM phones unlocked to any network, at least that's what mine is

Should be fine, you can download the latest updates from o2 ireland if necessary.
When you put in a new SIM card it will ask if you want to reconfigure unit with card to local settings, its foolproof.
Both UK & IRL gsm networks work on the same frequency.

Hi,im live in Italy, I have a problem with a motorola Atrix T-Mobile UK unlocked from one day it doesn't connect him to the cellular net, it tells me no service but if I put the sim in other jail cell it works, I don't know what has happened, it has the original rom, for the rest it works but it doesn't make me use the telephone.
No service GSM-UMTS-3G-3G+.....

Strange,i use tmo. Get apn from tmo uk web site
Swyped from 'mount' olympus
Atrix 4g t-mobile uk
Everything normal has worked then for one day with a sim H3G it tells me no service.
The jail cell is open for all the SIM unlock you/he/she has been purchased England T-Mobile UK.
Ok dude this is like the 3rd thread i've seen. This is ridiculous

You need to unlock Network lock -if it's locked-, not more than $30.
And you should check which GSM/3G/4G frequencies your GSM operator is using and compare with Note's specifications.
I used without issues my ATT unlocked Note for the last 2 weeks while travelling in Europe. I used a prepaid Italian TIM Mobile SIM card as service provider.

It will work in the UK but verify that your carrier support the 3G/4G frequencies. If it doesn't, then you will be using 2G/Edge.
I'm on o2 UK with no problems. 3G works fine, not had the chance to see if 4G would work..

A couple of very fine scratches on glass but you can't see with screen on anyway. S-off, rooted, unlocked, 4ext recovery.. etc.

I am wanting to buy a phone off amazon.co.uk and i am in ireland. The listing is 'Honor 7 4G UK Dual SIM-Free Smartphone' . So even though it says its sim free it also said 'UK' so does this mean its only usable in uk and not ireland or does in work on any network

It is sim free and it works on any network, limited only with supported frequencies. In Ireland and other EU countries there is no limit.
