So I find quite a few apps that can read and save nfc tags
Could it be used to save nfc tags that don't belong to u?
Such as if someone where to get my key card they can store the card in there phone and then use there phone to unlock doors etc?
Kinda scary...

I got my nfc tags in today to play with. Have no problem writing to them, and NFC Task Switcher works great. My example use case is having the volume go down at my bedside.
I use Tasker extensively, so maybe I'm spoiled:
My first question is, is there any way to trigger an 'exit' or 'undo' task when your phone leaves the vicinity of the tag? Really hate to require two tags to achieve that level of automation. By reading a bit on the Play Store reviews area, I'm guessing this isn't possible, and I'll need to change the way I think about these.
2nd question: Is there any way nfc tags can be read and trigger an event while the phone is locked? Also seems kinda pointless to have to unlock before touching the tag.

1: You can just create a switch. Tap once, do (tasks). Tap again, undo (tasks).
2: Not that I know of right now but I'm sure our wonderful developers will figure something out!

Hello everybody!
In my Studencard there is a NFC-Tag, how can I read it. I've tried NFC Tag Manager and NFC Writer Reader. Booth apps aren't showing anything from the informations on the tag.

I think it was a big security issue when NFC first come out to phones, people can read other's confidential info of Credit card or student IDs. So now, lots of phones and apps (including android) try to prevent phones to read info from ID card or credit card.
Go into your phone settings and make sure Tap to Send is turned on. That will enable the NFC system and allow the phone to follow the instruction in the tag. Personally this scream security risk as you have no clue what a tag might tell your phone to do. Most go to a website just like QR tags but a malicious hacker could place a tag that tell your phone to do god knows what.
From my searches Dr Google has told me its not possible, but I thought I would ask anyways. Can I scan my prox badge for work using my cell phone and then use my phone to emulate that card? From what I read NFC is an offshoot of RFID, so I would think its possible.

i do not believe these will code most standard RFID badges or emulate them correctly. i put RFID reader and lock solenoids in my car so unless the proper RFID chip is near the reader, the doors will not unlock and the car will not start. i was actually looking at doing something like this with NFC and the stereo.
I just watched this video, my dreams of being able to copy the prox badge have got to be possible?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yjfc60LGjik
if they are able to proxy, I would think you could also save that data and just push it back out...that or I am fully misunderstanding how this works which is also very possible.
I got some NFC based membership cards I would like to have in my phone, so I don't have to bring the cards.
Is there an app that can just read them and send the selected information out again?
Can I also just copy a member card into one of those small NFC smart tags and use them instead?
Or doesn't it work this way?
I use Cards app to store NFC cards. It supports emitting the same over NFC when needed.
Hope this helps.
Well I can't add anything there, my phone just asks me to open it with Tasker or "new tag detected", the Cards app is not getting the data.
Hi,
my Google Pixel 6 works fine with the "MIFARE Classic" tool and "NFC tools".
Chips, Tags, Credit Cards and insurance cards all work fine.
For some reason some "access control tags" I use to enter special buildings or to disable the alarm, cannot be read by the pixel 6. I guess these are protected.
I wonder if a 40$ NFC reader might be able to read these protected ones ?
I also tried the old "Mifare DESFire EV1 4k" and others, but according to google a "cheap NFC tag reader" might work here ?
Or does protected mean protected ?
