So I have an odd issue ... there is some app( presumebly ) that is sounding my default notification sound at ( seemingly ) random intervals, however no app shows up in the notification center. I have no idea how to track down what app, or what notification is doing this.
Has anyone seen this, or know what could sound off without actually showing you the notification ... I mostly only have notifications on for Gmail, Voicemail, GoSms. I have several other apps installed ( Foursquare, Facebook, and maybe a couple others ) that are capable of notifications, but their all turned off ... and even if they were sounding, wouldn't you think I would see something in the notification center dropdown???
This is getting -extremely- annoying ... any help what-so-ever would be appreciated...

I have this exact problem with my new Note 3. Did you find a solution?

Friends,
I´m writting you to ask for help for a ancient problem I have with WM (since I had a Touch HD). I use a lot the calendar function and also the reminders.
But, I´m facing a terrible problem: the phone is not showing the notifications anymore. The curious part is that if I set a Task, the phone wakes up and rings. But if it´s an appointment, it doesn´t wake up nor even show any notification icons or sounds. I have lost some appointments due this.
I have set all settings to play sounds; hard reseted the phone and installed the programs I most use and tested to see if would play the sound and the notification. After one week of "stability" (I mean, the phone was giving me the notifications and I didn´t install any programs), it stopped again to show APPOINTMENTS reminders.
Has anyone faced this problem? Do you know a solution to this? I have an HD2 with stock T-mobile ROM.
Please, help me!
Moved to HD2 QA. As it is not related to Windows D&H.

You need to check your notification queue.
There are tools that clean it up. I think SKTools have this functionality.
I dont seem to be receiving 3rd party notifications for instance words with friends is set up to 15 min and i never receive any alerts or even silent notification in the bar. Im new to android so im a little lost one some things, maybe someone can tell m e if im doing anything wrong?
On my tablet i get notifications from words with friends but on my phone even other apps that should have notifications arent alerting me.
Sorry for being noobish
i found that notifications were always a problem on android phones. WWF and HWF both are very sporadic with notifications but with the latest update to Google+, those notifications are fine. sorry I can't be of more help but I dont think you're doing anything wrong.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
Here is my pseudo-complicated situation: I have a gate sensor at the front of my property that communicates wirelessly to my automation system. The system can then notify me via text or email anytime my gate sensor is tripped. I would like for my phone to simply act as a doorbell by just making a sound anytime someone drives through my gate. So far I have accomplished this but unfortunately for my organized & partially OCD brain, my phone's notification bar is overloaded with messages that I have to clear several times per day. Basically, I would like for it to make a sound but not to show any icon or notification in the pull-down notifications menu.
I have tried several SMS apps (Handcent, GO SMS Pro, Chomp, Textra and stock) and have been unable to find a way to accomplish this. The closest thing I've found is to use the "privacy inbox" on several of these apps that allows me to place any messages from the automation system into a different inbox. I'm able to give it a different sound, different icon and different (or no) LED blink color. Unfortunately, this still leaves my notifications pull-down menu riddled with alerts from my gate sensor.
I don't know if there is an Android-based work-around or if anyone can recommend a decent SMS app that would give me this option. I have tried the same thing with email but not only do I run into the same problem, but the delay in the syncing of the email defeats the purpose because the person will usually already be at my door before I hear the tone. Because of this, I would like to stick with the SMS method.
There may also be another option that is outside the box that I have yet to consider.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks,
Ryan

So am I the only person experiencing that most of my game apps arnt sending me push notifications such as CoC, Boom Beach, Fun Run 2, and etc. I'm not getting any notifications even though in settings, apps manager, all my apps have the check in the show notification box but I still don't receive any. In all such apps I have settings in the app to send me notifications yet still nothing comes through. I'm running on the 12b update. I'm just curious if anyone else is experiencing this weird thing or if someone could help me fix this
I searched Google and seen many with the same issue, but no solution. The issue is getting no text notifications sometimes. I get the text message but no sound or badge number saying a text came in. It's so random I can be texting a person back and fourth. I get 99% of notification a text came in example a sound and visual iindication but a few slip in with out so much of a beep. I did a factory reset, I made messager notification high priority, and I have no other message app. Is it because of Oreo? Is because of Google? Or is just Samsung app broken? No idea, but it kills me.

Same issue here. No idea either and definitely is Oreo. Never had this on the Note 8 with prior setup.
Disabled Google assistant and it got much better, but not 100% far less text messages slipping through without a notification.
